Mr. Pinchy is only fished out of Highland Mixed Schools in Terrokar Forest. There are a total of 17 Highland mixed schools in the three Fly-to only lakes in Terrokar Forest. 3 in the lake above Stonebreaker point (lake Jo'rune), 4 that spawn in the lake just above and behind Allerian Stronghold (Lake Ere'Noru), and 10 in Blackwind Lake/Skettis/Skethyll Mountains area. Mr. Pinchy's drop rate appears to be about a 0.2% drop rate on successful casts (about 2 out of 1000 or 1 in 500 casts) so be prepared to spend alot of time on this.
You will need 420 fishing to Cast into the Highland Mixed schools, and about 480 to loot without many "Your fish got away!" messages. You will no longer receive "Your fish got away!" messages if your fishing skill is 525 fishing or higher. I had the games max limit of 527 Fishing the 3 times that I have caught him. 375 Base Fishing Skill +40 Arcanite Fishing Pole (I have the High Test Eternium Fishing Line on it so 35+5=40) +5 Lucky Fishing Hat +5 Nat Pagle's Extreme Angling Boots +2 Fishing Skill enchant to gloves +100 Aquadynamic Fish Attractor Upon Catching you will get one of the following results (listed in what seems to be the most common results first) 1 - Mr. Pinchy's Gift, contains 4-5 Super Healing, and 4-5 Super Mana potions, this seems to be the most common result of his wishes. 2 - Mr. Pinchy's Blessing, 2-hour 1200hp buff that persists through death! 3 - Furious Mr. Pinchy, Lvl 70 non elite that attacks you and your party, is not lootable. 4 - Benevolent Mr. Pinchy, Lvl 70 Guardian that assists you for 10 minutes 5 - Magical Crawdad Box, summons a Magical Crawdad non-combat pet, very rare considering such a low drop rate on Mr. Pinchy to begin with, and then only 3 chances to get this box. There are 17 pools in the set, any of which may spawn. These pools are spread across 3 different lakes, so don't expect to continually fish from one lake. Each pool will typically respawn 60-65 minutes after it was last fished (emptied). It is very unlikely to respawn in less than 40 minutes, but will sometimes take as long as 90 minutes. There is a maximum number of pools that will be visible at one time across the set, regardless of time since last catch. This number increases slowly with time when no fishing occurs, up to six. If you fish pools in quick succession the number tends to decline, until you are searching for just one pool.
Caught with 375 fishing skill, +20 fishing rod, +5 fishing line, and a +100 fishing lure.
I think as long as you can fish out of the pools, he has a shot of showing up. (Saving the wishes for instances or raids) EDIT: I fished out another one the evening I fished out my first one. Same pool, about 10-12 hours difference in time. I still have yet to use the wish, but after reading below, it looks like they will share cooldown timers. They are not unique, though, so you can have more than one Mr. Pinchy in your bags. My Wishes: 1st Mr. Pinchy - Furious Mr. Pinchy - Furious Mr. Pinchy (at this point, a Furious Ms. Kairra) - Mr. Pinchy's Gift (potions) 2nd Mr. Pinchy - Mr. Pinchy's Blessing (1200hp - NOTE: This was later nerfed to 500hp in a patch) (that stacked with Commanding Shout and Last Stand to give me just over 17000 hp) - Mr. Pinchy's Blessing - Benevolent Mr. Pinchy (that I used on Murmur...Mr. Pinchy died after the second blast wave =( ) EDIT #2 - 5/24/07 Fished out my 3rd Mr. Pinchy this morning. I didn't realize it's been 1.7 months since I fished out the prior 2. Just started my little Fishing Tour beginning with the two easy Lakes (where not even one highland school was up) and then getting to the really annoying one near skettis, flew into the first school -> two chatches - two Mr. Pinchy! - guess I spent my luck for months ;)

When I heard tell of good ol' Mr. Pinchy, I set out to get me one. Sure, my fishing was only 444 (324 + 20 pole + 100 lure), but dammit, I was gonna get me a Magical Crawdad pet. This is Serious Business.
I landed at Lake Ere'Noru. I tossed a line into the first pool I saw. I hauled out Mr. Pinchy. Blink. Blink. Blink. First wish was a dud. Die, you pinchy bastard. Ditto the second wish. I'd completely forgotten I even had him in my bags and spotted him days later while in the AH. I thought, wth, why not summon yet another attacking crawdad for my amusement? Flashy explosion. Nada. No Pinchy? Check log. "You create Magical Crawdad Box." ... now if only I could get that &%*&**&% firefly.
As most of us know, fishing can get extremely boring. Whether you're catching food for cooking or skill-levelling, you inevitably get into a hazy routine of cast, loot, cast, loot, cast, loot...
So I was in such a routine yesterday. Cast, loot, cast, loot, cast, loot.. Suddenly I got Mr. Pinchy: "Looting this item will bind it to you. Okay?" Cast... NOOOOO! The habitual cast cancelled the loot, so Mr. Pinchy was gone. So a warning if you're in a cast, loot, cast, loot routine, your mind is wandering and you're not really thinking of the fishing: you may just be robbed of Mr. Pinchy if you don't stay alert. It kinda sucks that a fished item gives the 'equip=bind' message, as there's no circumstances I can think of where you wouldn't loot. (skill at the time 370, +100 lure, +2 Fishing gloves, +25 Nat Pagle's rod. Location: Blackwind Lake 67, 79)

I wouldnt normaly post something, but I had to on this one.. I was fishing in Highland Mixed Schools in Terrokar Forest, with my friend.. we were fishing out the Crawdads. Now I REALLY wanted this one.. and he got it.. and he coulda cared less.. I was kinda upset... my Next cast.. about 5 seconds later, I got one myself. Two dropped back to back. not sure of the chances of that.. since we both knew eachother, were fishing together, and were in the same party. I did catch my out of a different pool tho. I was kinda pissed tho when i used it, and my Inv was full. But then he just mail'd me my gay potions. Im going for the pet so wish me luck! i'll kill myfriend if he gets it! :P Good luck!!!

omg soooooooo happy, im on aszune sever been 70 for ages and one of my guildies got mr. pinchy last nite and then i thought screw it want one too, so i started to farm. for 5 hours no luck and then got to 375 and recived a MR. PINCHY in the same cast! i was soo happy a think a wee'd a lil

For the first time I got to start fishing to Mr Pinchy, and about the 3rd hour I got him!. Was fishing with 342Base skill when I started +25skill pole +100fishing lure for 467 total. I figured I could level my fishing while I had a long-shot chance of catching him, and was at 351base skill by the time I caught him.
1st wish - Magical Crawdad! 2 Notes - this is during 2.4 patch, and I did not see a "would you like to equip" option, I simply caught him and he went into my bag, so no more worries as to accidentally re-fishing and failing to pick him up. 2nd Note - Mr Pinchy now says "1 charge," which is strange because I thought I get 3 charges, and yet I only used one...
QQ. I'm on my 3rd Mr. Pinchy. Still no luck getting the stupid Mini-Pet. In addition, I've fished up over 2000 Crawdads, Golden Darters, Scrolls, and boxes. GG BLIZZ. Heres hoping I'll get the pet in the next 4 days with 1 of the 2 wishes I have left.
noob question: do i need to have a maxed out fishing lvl to even have a chance at Mr. Pinchy?
My 1st wish was a Magical crawdad box, second wish was the buff, third wish was another Magical crwadad box. So I now have the pet with me in a bag all the time and have a spare one sitting in the bank :)

I've gotten 2 Mr Pinchys in about a month's time. Both times I received a Magical Crawdad on my first wish. XD Hurray. Problem is, I wish I could at least trade one of them with my alt. What am I supposed to do with two of the same pet? I don't want to get rid of it, it's too damn cool! Lol.
