I looked at the locaitons on the beta and it showed them being fishable in northeast terrokar, but i couldnt find any there. Perhaps they only spawn during the day?

i got these alot all day and night i was 317 fishing with +20 fishing poll eternium line, fishing hat and glove chant then the +100 bobber and i could fish them at the 3 elevated lakes in terrokar forest. by allerian stronghold and the horde city near by then s/e of the allerian stronghold lake is the third.
Either the drop rates are way off, or these are in fact time-sensitive. Trying to fish these from both "Skettis Fishing" and Blackwind lake at about 9:45-10AM in the morning has resulted in 40 fish, but 0 crawdads. This is with a fishing skill of 490.

See this site for more info on fishing furious crawdad. Basically they can only be fished from the pools.
http://www.capsu.org/wow/catching_furious_crawdad.html
can the pools you catch these from be tracked by the Find Fish ability?
First of all dont even try to catch these babies without fishing skill 365 + 100 from the Aquadynamic Fish Attractor +25 or 20 from the fishing pole.
The ONLY place I got some of these was the lake in Terrokar Forest that you do need a flying mount to reach.
Don't expect to just sit there and fish. 70lvl mobs are all around which means u have to clear some area to be able to fish (not to mention that big elite that patrols and if u get aggro you are down).
I found most around 68,81 in the HIGHLAND SCHOOLS.
What I suggest is fish somewhere else untill you hit the 375 skill. Cause up there even at 365 most of the fish get away so it is much harder to skill up.
I ' m on 369 atm and it is still very annoying of how many of them get away.
Good luck to all the fishing freaks.
P.S. If anyone has any more extra info plz post guys.
Edit: I found them in the other pools thot mentions. There are much less pools than the big lake ofc but u can easily fish them without mobs around + u get those nice Golden fish for healing etc. Good luck.
I didn't start catching these until I hit 365 on fishing, so I wouldn't bother until your at or very close to that.
At 365, I can catch them with only using the bright baubles (+75) and Seth's Graphite Fishing pole which you get as a quest reward in Terokkar.
They are only catchable in the highland mixed pools in the 3 lakes accessible ONLY by flying mounts, or if your a 68 druid.
And finally, cooking these up are the only way (at present time) to get your cooking skill to 375.
Good luck
There is an inaccuracy in your comment. While this is the only way to get your cooking to 375 on Alliance, Horde get two other recipies through questing.
i jsut cought 3 from a Hichland Mixed school with 324 skill, +20 quest rod and +75 bobber
there wasa buttload of missed fish, but it's..... theoreticallly possible.

I recently hit 70 and got my flying mount. Went to the 3 lakes noted but have only seen the highland pools in the lake at Skettis. I have literally spent hours at the other 2 lakes and never have seen a pool spawn. The amount of mobs you have to fight at Skettis lake is insane and making it even harder for me personally as an Ice Mage is the fact that all the water elementals are immune to frost spells.Base fishing skill: 385,buffed with rod/lure and +fishing gloves:485
If you don't have at least a base of 360 fishing, don't even bother. You'll be lucky to catch more than a couple of these an hour. Also as stated, you can't get up to any of the three elevated lakes without a flying mount, druid flight form or a summon.
I'm able to catch these at 375 fishing, using +100 lures and Seth's Graphite Fishing Pole. Without the arcanite pole or fishing enchants of any kind I still fail to catch anything fairly often. There are 10 pool spawns at Blackwind Lake, 4 at Lake Ere'Noru and 3 at Lake Jorune. It's possible to visit any of these lakes and find no spawns up, or find all spawns up.
Blackwind Lake has more pool spawns, but is also swarming with mobs, including level 70-71 Skettis, 70-71 water elementals, and 3 level 72 elite giants that patrol the area at different locations. Most of the spawns in this lake are in managable areas, and after a while you'll know which mobs you need to kill to get a few minutes of peace to fish each particular pool. If you die the only way (besides getting a rez) to get back is to spirit rez. (Correction: There is a graveyard up at Blackwind Lake.) There is also a glitched water elemental along the western side of the lake, near a large tree. It can attack you and you can target it, but you can't see it and cannot attack it. I am unable to get within range or even cast a hunter's mark on it, but it will continually cast frost bolts at me until I'm well away from that area.
Classes with stealth abilities have it a litle easier if you're solo. The patrolling giants however will easily see through shadowmeld. It is virtually impossible for any class to solo a giant; it hits too hard, has too much hp, and you'd need a world of space to kite him. Always keep your eyes open when fishing at this lake.
Best of luck to my fellow fishermen. =D

Warlocks rejoice -- the elite giant pats are fearable, and do not aggro any other mobs in the area.
That being said, they have tons of HP, so it takes forever to fearkite them dead. Always clear the immediate vicinity of water elementals before fishing so you have a little room with which to roam. I try to avoid the giants as much as I can, but sometimes I can't.
Shadow Priest can easily tank and spank elite giant tree without fear .
That giants fearable = he's cake for locks.

I have confirmed that Lake Ere'Noru, which lies just above Allerian Stronghold, can be reached without flying mount or druid flight form. I made my way through Veil Shalas till I got to the entry point at coordinates 57,65. I mounted up with my epic mount and ran up the hill as far as possible then while still running up I repeatedly pressed the jump button. Though it seemed as though I wasn't moving, little by little I had made my way up and over that little hill and into the lake. Hope this helps out.

I also entered Ere'noru (south of Alliance Fortress) via the Arakkoa village. However I couldn't make it on my Epic kodo, so I dismounted when I reached the limit and kept running and jumping until I finally found my way up.
It works without flying mount!
Yes, there is a path to Lake Ere'Noru via Veil Shalas starting at 57,65. Don't try to go directly up the hill there (you can see a path on the minimap and *almost* get to it, but not quite). Instead, go down the little drop to the north and follow that path to the next right. That ramp will drop you into the southern end of the lake.
FYI, if you are the northern end of the lake and you are horde, the gryphon riders will aggro on you.
Also, the lake really does need lures. I have max fishing and the +25 fishing pole (for a total of 400) and it still told me my skill wasn't high enough to fish there until I added lures.
Pools by StormblastGR, Score -0.71
These pools need a buffed skill of 430 min to fish, and 525 in order to never lose a fish
Fishing has been a quite profitable profession before. I made quite some buck selling deviate fish and when the T0.5 sets came out stonescale eels rocketed in price. There used to be a lot of money in fishing.
what time are those crawdads out specically?
I hear daytime...but whats the exact time to fish?
The crawdads can be caught at any time of the night or day, but only from Highland Mixed Schools.
Spent 20 minutes fishing on Lake Ere'Noru. Skill 375, +20 fishing pole, +100 fishing lure, +2 gloves, for a total of 497. Had the following results:
Barbed Gill Trout: 18
Golden Darter: 9
Spotted Feltail: 5
Got away: 16
Crawdads: 0
Is anyone catching the crawdads, and if so how high was your skill level?
What I didn't see anyone mention was the fact that these can only be caught from Highland Mixed School of fish. These are pools that spawn and then disappear. YOU CANNOT JUST STAY IN ONE LOCATION CAN CATCH THESE. You have to hunt each lake area until a pool spawns, clear anything that you would aggro around you and then fish the pool. YOUR CAST MUST BE IN THE POOL OR YOU WILL NOT GET ONE. Then you will only get 2 or 3 and the pool will disappear and you start again.
check this link for great information: http://www.capsu.org/wow/catching_furious_crawdad.html
Yeah, That's about when I started catching them. I had a quite a few "Your fish got away"... But for what the Spicy Crawdad goes for on my AH, it was still well worth the time.
BTW: Weather-Beaten Journal makes finding the Mixed Highland Pools a hell of a lot easier to find. It teaches the ever rare "Find Fish" ability.
I caught these with 336 Fishing skill with +5 Lucky Fishing Hat, +75 Lure, and +25 Nat Pangle's Extreme Angler FC-5000
336+75+5+25=441
I definitly let a lot of fish get away though. But they CAN be caught at this level
And I caught them around 8:30-9:00AM Server Time, So they can be caught in the morning/day.
I caught mine at the elevated lakes above Stonebreaker Hold and whatchamacallit Stronghold (the alliance place south of Stonebreaker). I only found 1 school at each zone. So when they ran out I went back to fishing Golden Darters.
The next day I tried Blackwind Lake. The mobs were not so bad. They take at least 10 minutes to spawn, and if you are careful, you only need to kill 1. As a shaman, I was a little spoiled with waterwalk, but its not impossible to fish there without it. The previous posts make it sound out to be quite a pain to fish there. but there are tons of schools, and if one looks crowded with mobs, just go find a different one. I would not suggest the school next to a log in the southern shore of the lake. An elite Mountain Colossus paths though there, and he can swim
This is sooooooooo hard to get. I am level 375 fishing skill, and i use +100 lure and add 25 fishing pole, and i cant catch any of this. The only time i caught one of this is at high land school fish pool in the morning, and i only got one. All the fish will get away when i fish at the high land fishing pools.- -"..Guess i need to get the best fishing pole and lucky hat this sunday.

Nothing is proven without a screenshot.
Caugtht 24 of these today, all from Highland mixed schools. I mostly caught these with some GOlden darters + the odd crate. Took me 1 hour all in all.
375 fishing +25 (Extreme angler) + 100 Aquadynamic.
I used up 8 Fish attractors.
Pretty easy catch imo.
The best place is 65.3:78.5
Fishing skill must 525

Easy found in Skettis!
[b]Just look for circels in water called "Highland Mixed School"[b]
[b]OBS you should have about 500 skill the fish then![b]
It takes less time to farm a primal than sit around and wait for these stupid things with high level requirements... ill just sit back and farm a primal in no time swapping a stack for the same gold with less effort!
"yo man im gonna farm these and make like 20G on the AH!" when i spent a third of the time killing lowbies to get something i could sell for the same price... thanks!

The lake elevated above The alliance zone and skettis has tons of these spawns... they look like a welt on the surface of the water and if you have a good video card u can see the circling fish beyond the surface.. i catch about 35-40 of these a day early in the morning when everyone is in bed and all the spawns are fresh, right after server maintenance is also a good time to catch these spawns. Currently 375 fishing +20 pole +100 lure and +2 to gloves. These sell a little better uncooked but cooked give a 30 stamina buff, great for raids and is also one of the easiest ways to cap cooking at 375. good luck!
Confirmed - possible to get on skettis without flying mount.
Instructions: Walljump up to the lake just next to Allerian Stronghold. It's reasonably hard but can be done. From there, go to the furthest corner south of the lake. Drown yourself. Rez up above :)
caught a stack of these today.
very low level of "Your Fish got Away" msgs.
348 base fish skill
Aqua-dynamic fish attractor
Seth's graphite rod.
regular string. no chants for +fish.
so super duper fish skills are not a must.
paying attention to your surrounding is. the elites aren't friendly.
These are very easy to catch,
I caught 59 of them in one hour.
I have 500 fishing skill with +25 pole and +100 lure.
I have epic flying mount.
I have "find fish" ability so i can see all the highland mixed schools on my mini map.
On top of that, I also just caught mr. pinchy, I guess i'm lucky cause i've probably only fished about 40 highland mixed schools total so far.
Selling the furious crawdad RAW on the AH for 40g a stack.
If your cooking is max'd and your fishing is max'd, I recommend selling your fish raw, People like to buy them to level their cooking.
just to add in my 2 cents. i needed to fish them to get my cooking skill from 250-275 so i read up on where to find them. i went to skettis (black wing lake or something) you can only reach by flying mount but since there are dailies there i am going to try a diffrent body of water to avoid being ganked. i can onyl get them from the mix highland schools, iam sure there is the very rare chance to get one from jsut fishing in any elevated body of water but i wouldnt bet on it. i had 375 fishing skill, +20 to pole, and a +75 lure..wasnt about to waste a +100 if i didnt have to. and in the 7mins left on my lure when i started in the school i came up with 7 crawdads, and the time does take into account moving to diffrent schools, and fighting the water mobs that attacked me. hope this helps
So right! do the "Highland Mixed School" I got 2/3 sucessful fish pulls. I had been doing them just across the shore on same area w skettis and had been there for 20mins and got 0. So more worth it to do the schools.
I just fished out 20 of these with fishing 348 and a +100 attractor. Only missed a couple of them. A couple of times i used the +10 fishing beer but not the whole time.
The 3 best lakes to catch these are in Terokkar Forest.
Lake Jorune = 46,40
Little or no mobs here.
Ere'Noru = 59,59
Little or no mobs here.
Blackwind Lake = 64,74
Mobs on the shores and in the water so be prepared to clean some out.
Need to have a flying mount and high fishing level to fish in all of these. Furious Crawdad can only be caught in the Highland Mixed Schools. Also caught a bunch of Golden Darter (makes great healer food) at all of these locations. Happy fishing!
NOTE! THESE ARE A NIGHT FISH/CRUSTACEAN! YOU NEED TO FISH LATE AT NIGHT FOR THESE!
I tried to fish them during the day but found about 1-2 pools of em in all the lakes combined. But when i finished my raid at night and went to stock up on supplies, there were LOADS of pools. I barely empty one and another would pop up. Not to mention i was quite often fishing one up whilst 2-3 other pools were sitting on my minimap waiting to be sucked dry. I simply couldnt fish em up fast enough.
Oh and for those doubters, during the day, whilst i was fishing there, NOBODY else was fishing.
