The raptors can be found on the plateu south and east of the Ruins of Zul'Kunda. Near coordinates 27,16 for Cosmos users.

The location of these Stranglethorn Raptors is quite deceiving, they are NOT slightly north of the Grom'Gol Base Camp (these are the Lashtail Raptors).
North East of the Tkashi Ruins (where you do the Bloodscalp Troll quest (Alliance side)) you will find the Stranglethorn Raptors. Hope this helps, I was wandering around for a looong time.
The Stronglethorn Raptors are in the far NW corner. Near the border of Duskwood.
There are plenty! Just go from west from the hunters camp where you picked up the quest and you will easely find them. GreetZ Ixion

All the coords are correct to a certain degree it has nothing to do with map. The problem is no one is reading the damned quests!!!!
This is a 4 part quest chain and different raptor types are required to be killed for each part and they're at different locations. 1. 10 Stranglethorn Raptors. 2. 10 Lashtail Raptors. 3. 10 Jungle Stalkers. 4. Tethris. Read the comments in these threads and go to the right raptors for that portion of the quest you're on. I haven't done them all so I'm not going to post them but I have found them where posted so far.

North West of the Bal'something ruins.. west of nessingway's camp. Just south of the big ruins, near the beach. In hills is a nest of them and there's plenty surrounding them. Head north from the lashtails... Guys.. cosmos co-ordinates isnt helpful to everyone, give directions. Bragging about soloing them at level whatever isnt helpful or interesting, telling us how you did it with no pots isnt helpful... you get the idea. Yep, i went there and saw them circling around a tree COME AND GET ME! btw 550xp for a lv42 doing this quest.
28, 15 is WRONG for the first part of the quest. That's a nest of Lashtails. I just went there and found it is 26.15. THOSE are the Stranglethorn Raptors needed for the first part of the quest.

27,16 was a very good spot for me... For thoes who have coords it is just Nortwest of the camp were you get the quest, on second platue. It is also a good place for regular Panthers if you are on that quest. One thing about this place is that next to it there is a nest with STV raptors AND yong raptors(lvl 30s) that attack too. So be careful if you are a lower lvl doing this quest.
Found all my Stranglethorn Raptors directly NW of the Bal'lal Ruins (look on your map and you'll see a plateau, go up there via a path). You can either wait for respawns or, if you're brave or high enough level, kill the mothers who are paired with their babies.
Occurding to where you turn this in, on thottbot atleast, it says it is in Nagrand... which i seem to doubt. Looking deeper into the chain thottbot also says that one of the peices, 3rd i think, begins and ends in Nagrand. Maybe thottbot just messed up becuase the names of the people are similiar? someone please shed some light on this, im not to fond about the idea of bringing my twink out to nagrand >.<

I haven't seen it mentioned here but it should be noted that the lashtail raptors for second part of Raptor Mastery and The Defense of Grom'gol quests are the same raptors. If you wait to do The Defense of Grom'gol until after you get part 2 of Raptor Mastery, you will be completing 2 quests at the same time. It will cut down on XPs for fighting less mobs but it makes things go a little faster.
My twink would like to get the Raptor Hunter Tunic, but is trying to avoid unnecessary xp.
Anyone know if it is possible to get quest credit for killing the raptors if a group member kills them near your corpse if you haven't rezzed yet? ok lets end all the confusion here. this is the raptor quest, 1st one, NOT lashtail raptors. Look on your map, see where the bridge crosses over the river? draw an almost straight line west from that point (ending up just south of and to the west of Zul'Kunda) thats where the stranglethorn raptors are. Very important, be sure to complete the first tiger and panther quests and accept the 2nd ones b4 u go as you'll travel rite thru both of these mobs to get to the raptors.
this chest peice is awsome for 29 twinks. definatly worth doing! just did it on my rogue :) i had a lvl 70 to help
