This is sweet! You can give your MT so much threat with this! Just open up with an Aimed shot followed by a Distracting shot and an Auto Shot you have a boat load of threat immediately given to the MT! Like SUPER SUPER glue to the tank.

For best usage and aggro gain avoid any autoshots while MD is active. i prefer to start with an Aimed shot, immideatly followed by a Steady shot, then a multishot or a distraction shot, whatever u feel is best. if ur gear is good and ur critchance thereafter the threat gained to ur target (hopefully your MT) will be increased with a shitload enough to make it a walk in the park.

How badass would this be if you could target the opposite faction with this! (I know you can't....so don't call me a moron but damn this would make WOW so much more fun) Throw on MD on an unsuspecting horde/alliance, fire at a mob or couple mobs behind his back and watch him not know what hit him! Maybe blizz will put this up for review for the next patch haha.
seems hunters were made to be hated first using pet 2 distract while mining, then freeze trap and now this.

This is actually useful for crowd control as well, especially in heroics where a lot of mobs are immune to certain types of CC, like the Defenders in Underbog.
What you do is park your pet up WAY back up the path you came, pop misdirection on him and then pull the mob. Have a freeze trap in the way to catch one, and another will run all the way to your pet, kill him, and run all the way back. Works well with Curse of exhaustion and/or Slow as well. By the time he gets back, you should've kill one so your tank can pick him up to be killed. 1) people are saying to use distracting shot while this is active (eg. Aimed, Steady, DS). Rank 7 DS does 900 threat. I'm wondering if anyone has in game experience with DS vs something else. Is DS better to use than something else?
2)I know it says "Threat caused by your next 3 attacks", but I was wondering if hunter DoTs are part of an attack? To be clear, if on the 3rd attack a hunter used Serpent Sting, would the DoT damage be part of the third attack or is each tick the 4rth, 5th, 6th, (etc) attacks? MisD by zuludeadrocks, Score 0.00
Answer to the DoT effect, Yes, it does. Also, for serious players that use this ability for what is meant to be used for, you macro it to your main tank, Example:
#showtooltip Misdirection /cast [target=tank name] Misdirection Or for folks that use /focus targeting along with xperl addons or what not, the better choice for you would be... #showtooltip Misdirection /cast [target=focus] Misdirection Or for the soloist's, this one would be for you. #showtooltip Misdirection /cast [target=pet] Misdirection The bad part of the first one would be you have to change macros every time you regroup, or are with a different tank. Bad part to focus ones is, I usually like to focus on DPS targets rather than the tank, and i have my Distract Shot macrod to switch my target to focus right after i use it so i avoid breaking my own traps. Which one is better? Depends on your playing style, the first macro is my first of choices, you just have to remember each raid to switch it or youll find yourself clicking misdirect and it having no effect, and your raid wondering wtf you are doing. blizzard should add an auto-kick that also destroy the hunter's ranged weapon when they misdirection on a clothie.
