It's actually irrelevant for some pieces. With the sockets and the AP agi gives you in cat form, it evens out except that you end up with more crit % and more dodge. That's without even getting the set bonus, which is great. Unless you're having some insanely good hands, for exemple, wastewalker gloves are the way to go in cat form.

That means either rogues or druids can wear it. Depends on how you're specced and how you play. Arguing over who this is for is pointless. If you're in a party with a feral druid or rogue, guess you'd better hope you can roll higher than he does.
As for pure stats, the most benefit for this would seem to go to either bear tanks or evasion rogues. There are three "3.5 Teir Dungeon" sets that are Leather.
One is inexplicably for Rogues, the Assassination Set. Another is inexplicably for Druids, the Moonglade set. This is the third set, which can equally benefit both depending on what the Druid's build is and what stat a Rogue would want more. There are three sets of each armor type that go the same for Hunters/Shamans and Warriors/Paladins. And while I'm not sure, there's probably a handful of cloth sets that Mages, Priests and Warlocks can bicker over until the world ends. If everyone would take a moment from their lootwhoring and realize that this set isn't a "ZOMG ROGUES/DROODS ONLEEEEEE" set maybe they'd finally grow up a little and become more pleasant and agreeable players in the game, hence would be more likely to last longer in guilds, PUGs and on other people's friendlists. Stat comparison
Armor: both sets have 1187, no difference here Stamina: Wastewalker 139, Moonglade 94. Agility: Wastewalker 116, Moonglade 49. Strength: Wastewalker 0, Moonglade 106. Attack Power: Wastewalker 190, Moonglade 0. Hit Rating: Wastewakler 88 (includes set bonus, Moonglade 0. Critical strike rating: Wastewalker 22, Moonglade 17. Obviously the ONLY feral stat Moonglade has over Wastewalker is strength. Those that say the Wastewalker is useless to druids because it has no strength don't know druids. Feral druids can either tank in Bear, or dps in Cat. Agility is HUGE for cat form. It gives us chance to crit, chance to dodge, armor, and more importantly 1 attack power for every agility. Here are some useful numbers for druids assuming you have 5/5 in Heart of the Wild and 3/3 in Survival of the Fittest. Bear Form: 1 str = 1.957 ap 1 sta = 12.3 health Cat Form: 1 str = 2.337 ap 1 sta = 10 health 1 agl = 1 ap Both Cat and Bear Form: 1 agl = 0.068% to dodge, 0.04% to crit 1 dodge rating = 0.0529% to dodge 1 crit rating = 0.045% to crit Notice that 1 agl adds more to dodge% than 1 dodge rating and just barely less to crit%. For this reason and the fact that cats also get AP from agility I often choose gear with high agility over those that only have Dodge Rating or Crit Rating. Melee comparison of Wastewalker to Moonglade: It is obvious that Wastewalker has more agl thus more crit, dodge, and from equip bonus more chance to hit. It has more stamina as far as bear form is concerned. The only question is damage, i.e. Attack Power (AP) Moonglade Bear Form: 106 str = 207 AP Moonglade Cat Form: 106 str + 49 agl = 247 AP + 49 AP = total 296 AP Wastewalker Bear Form: 190 AP (raw attack power from equip bonuses) Wastewalker Cat Form: 190 AP + 116 agl = 190 + 116 = total 306 AP Conclusion: As far as melee stats go, the Wastewalker falls short of the Moonglade only in bear form, and only by 17 Attack Power. Considering all the other melee stats that the Wastewalker is much higher in, such as Hit Rating, chance to crit, chance to dodge, and overall health, the Waistewalker is hands down much better for feral druids.

Assassination :6.8467% Wastewalker :5.6365% What do we conclude? More attack power and crit strike on assass, plus the two set bonuses. Now I don't know what the procrate on the wastewalker is, but I'd raver have 68fixed AP than a proc of 156. For my part, if I intend going to karazhan, I'd be still tempted to keep the assassination, losing some hit but gaining on AP and crit, especially if I intend to use a mutilation/combat daggers spec. As for solo farming, assassination totally rocks: cheap shot + SnD + assassination bonus = ~+46% attack speed, meaning some total whipping. Not talking about the poison application chance going through the roof. I think I'd still go for assassination pre Karazhan stuff: the -10energy means free 5pts evisceration; and there are numerous times where I just needed 5-10energy to eviscerate. ^ my 2 cents :D
This is rogue and feral druid set. I would take this set over assassins any day. As assassins set is virtually useless in a raid/instance setting since all raid bosses are immune to stuns. This set is what a good rogue wants if they are raiding.
Also it has more sockets allowing it to be better tweaked than the Assassins set 12 sockets on wastewalker Vs Assasonation's 7 Assassins set is pretty much only for PvP

This set falls outside of the 2 level 70 "class" sets and is awesome for PvE feral druids. PvP ferals really should stick with moonglade for the int bonuses. Good PvP druids shift forms so fast mana really is an issue, and moonglade set bonuses help cover that as well. Wastewalker however is superb for PvE feral, where no switching is required and the only stats you need are pure melee dps. Assassination is great for fist, mace and sword specced rogue PvP as the bonuses are great for stunlocking and hammering out the eviscerates, however dagger rogues dont really get anything useful out of it. At 70 I want to spec shadowstep and really wreak some havok with daggers. This set will ensure my ambushes never miss and let me see massive numbers fly. Wastewalker is far superior to assassination for this style of play. This is both a feral and a rogue set so stop bitching. If you are really that concerned its easy to make sure there are no druids/rogues in the group you go with.

MOONGLADE IS CRAP!!! Why does blizzard always try to "mix" healing gear with feral? When you want to heal you put healing gear on. When you want to go feral you put feral gear on. It's that simple. Moonglade set basicly makes you crap at both. Wastwalker is an exellent tanking set though I would never use it as dps. There are much better things out there for cat. This set is pretty decent for rogues too. Stop whining about wich class that should have it. If its better than your old then roll!

Ok, here's the deal guys, there are 3 Plate sets, 3 Mail sets, 3 Leather sets, and 4 Cloth sets.
Each type have the class specific ones AND a non-class specific set. It's intended for each class to roll on their specific set AND the non-specific set, if needed, simple as that. In the case of Leather, it's: Druid: Moonglade + Wastewalker (Feral) Rogue: Assassination + Wastewalker Just as in the case of Mail, it's: Shaman: Tidefury + Desolation (Enhancement) Hunter: Beast Lord + Desolation Plate: Paladin: Righteous + Doomplate (DPS) Warrior: Bold + Doomplate Cloth: Warlock: Oblivion + Mana-Etched Mage: Incanter + Mana-Etched Priest: Hallowed + Mana-Etched There we go. My Hunter has 4 Beast Lord + 1 Desolation (the glove), and it works fine, and works as intended. If an enhancement Shaman rolled against me for it, I'm not going to freak over it, just as I don't expect him freaking if I rolled on the Desolation, simple as that.
Greetings, and welcome to Ravnodaus explains it all!
Todays topic, Instancing, and how normal Five man dungeons compare to Heroic versions and Raids. In normal dungeons, many enemies are stunnable, crowd controlable, and low level enough to hit consistantly. Many fights are reletively short, and burst damage is a viable, and often sought after traight. Most groups are thrown together in a crazy mix and match, whoever we can get sort of way. This often leads to imbalanced groups, bringing hybrid classes versatility into play. Heroic dungeons and raid dungeons on the other hand, are by their nature more demanding to those who brave their dangers. Many foes found in them are more resilient to many tactics, and fights last longer, these are not enemies easily beaten, and a different manner is often employed to down them. Everyone in these groups often has a specified role to play, and stick to that role, relying on their fellows to do the same. Now that we have the basics down, we can take a closer look at the type of equipment these "raiders" are going to need to be as effective as they can be. Hybrid classes are going to choose a specific aspect to focus on, to maximize their effectiveness in these demanding dungeons. And specialized classes are going to focus on making their ability to continue the fight lasts more than a few seconds. Lets look at the melee aspect in this example. Both hybrid and specialized classes will desire a large bonus to their ability to deal damage, and what better way to that then help ensure their attacks even hit the target? They are going to rely on abilities to continue the fight over longer periods, not chancing a victory on a lucky strike or two. There is even a set of armor available to them to do this!! Commonly called the Wastewalker Set! Ah, what a mysterious and wondorous world we play in, indeed. Ummm...Procchance = not druid by Caligro, Score -0.56
People keep saying that wastewalker is better in Raids than Assassination for rogues because many things cant be stunned, get this - if i kidney shot and they are immune, i get the attack speed bonus and keep all my combo points. Both sets are good for raiding, saying that assassination isnt is completely incorrect.

no idea where somebody get it form that, druids are worse tankers then warros, or dps then rogues. this is totally bullshit. It is however that druids cant stunlock, or interrupt casting, and thats the reason why u take rogues on board, not for the dps alone. And same for warriors, they can disarm block shieldwall shieldslam etc etc, moves that are required to tank certain mobs that a druid cant. but thats okey,Druids arnt ment to do all insane, or els we where more powerfull then superman.
so every person who dont let a feral druid roll also on a melee dps leather item is just a crack head, and if ur entire guild backs this up well.... GL with farming UBRS or something. and ps: the first rogue whos saying i cant roll melee leather gear, after i saved the day with fast backup healing/combat res or go from cat to bear to offtank a lose mobs will be shot. respec our roll, its ALOT bigger then ur tiny lil crack heads with greedy hands can inmagen. For a Rogue doing solo PvE, the Assassination set is a great choice. The haste bonus on CC and and KS is superb.
For a Raiding Rogue doing heroics and Karazhan and above, the Wastewalker set is probably a better choice. Why? The hit rating bonus is amazing, and +hit is everything in the harder encounters. There's no point having loads of crit chance and attack power if you don't hit the boss to start with. The fact that some rogues keep two pieces of Wastewalker when they could have a full T4 set should speak volumes. A good compromise, if you'll really miss the haste bonus from the assassination set might well be to have 2 pieces from each set. If feral druids roll on these then that's fair enough in my book. The best way to avoid such confrontations as a rogue, is to run instances with a warrior tank or agree who rolls on what before you start.

I recently collected all 5 pieces of assassination gear and then when I was in SH wastewalker dropped, I needed just because was only leather there. after the run I looked on thottbot and bam the set is nice, however the set bonus is lacking what assassination gives. But for ap I like this set and more gem slots in the gear pls help a rogue in need...
id like to this comment,
wastewalker is for druids and rgoues, some rogues would like assass better being a lvl 70 feral druid i wouldnt know moonglade sux for feral druids so i got interested in this, id liek to let every1 know i never would roll on any piece of the assass, for one i like set bonuses im a big fan, second its rogues anyway now im not saying wasitewalker is for druids only, but rogues technacaly have two good ones like the hunter, they have 3 tier dungeoun set and 3b while shamans (enhanc) only have the 3b id liek to also add any hunters who even think about rolling for thiss deserves to die, i h8 it when a hunter needs a good +agi leather when a druid(doesnt matter if feral) or rogue is in the group, and chances r for most hunter one or the other will be in the group, but plz good rogues, you know how tough it is for feral druiids to find armor that a rogue wont say "its mine" and need for it , we druids r good ppl, (or atleast me) and i always ask the rest of the group , even if there isnt a rogue if i can need on an item, for this reason i try many times to replace the rgoue place with a hunter(one that knows how to play) but sometimes u have to bring a good rogue and settle things with them, personaly i think wastewalker has a slight advantage to druids with the nice sta, but thats just me, -be nice to rogues -its hunters u need to keep an eye on Re: Wastewalker Armor by Zeknif Sokolniki, Score -1.3

I have the gloves legs and shoulders. I'd like to figure out if it'd be worth trying to get the chest, and replace gloves of dexterous manipulation with wastewalker for kitty dps.
This set is vastly superior, for rogues, to the rogues assassination set, not only because its 54 MAEP (pve agility equivalence points), but because its far better for hit rating, and the set bonuses are better. What kind of pve rogue uses kidney shot and cheap shot in pve anyways....they should be using garrote and rupture to maximize dps. Now, i know there are occasions when a rogue uses CS and KS in pve, but thats highly situational. This set is very nice for hit, which isnt nearly as important to druids as it is to combat rogues...and combat happens to be the best pve spec. Blizz just hates feral, srry.
This set with fel leather gloves, socketed for hit, is the best pre raid gear a rogue could possibly get, short of epics. Re: Wastewalker Armor by Richlion, Score 0.00
As a rogue I would say this is a better set than the assassination set. The wastewalker set has more hit rating and only a little less crit rating... the only difference that might put people off is the attack power wich you lose a fair bit on. however the proc is more than enough to compensate even with a medium proc rating. As for anything else, such as the picky people who don't want to put it to chance. The number of sockets is uncomparable, the wastewalker set has enough sockets to make it a hell of a decent set which i would personally go to kara with anyday.
There is also a dispute over who is more eligable for the set, rogues or druids. If the feral druid wants it he has equal right to, the set addons(+hit rating) is great for druids and the sockets can be used to give the STR needed to make it a great tanking set for them. The rogues however have a good claim since it is a great leather set and the base attributes lean a little more to the rogues than the druids.. but only a LITTLE!
And also a thing that is worth mentioning (although I like assasssination more than this - im speced that way, so dont blame me) is that wastewalker drops in heroic mode of certain dungeons, except for gloves, which makes it a little harder to get - while assassiantion drops in normal mode of certain dungeons.
