This is not a good item at all.  First of it is used on multiple targets in a small radius around you.  It takes 1 second to cast and it fears for 2 seconds.  If you happen to be being attacked by multiple targets (which is why you would use this) you are going to spend more time casting this with spell interruption than how long your enemies would be feared.  It might be worth it to just get out of distance while running like in WSG with your Flag carrier, but chances are you are wasting your time and should leave the fear bombs to priests and warlocks.

seems to me like a great way to get those last 5 lvls of leatherworking out of the way.  Is it like the drums of war where you get 30 charges?  It all depends on its usefulness.  Ill make these and use em like crazy if it means i can get to 375 without tons of incredibly mundane farming.  That dagger you get with exhaulted is mighty nice too.

YES this is the best way to get the last points into leatherworking. Granted exalted with CoT takes sum work it is less than farming the mats needed to get to 375 normally. The mats for the drums are rediculously easy to get, and can be sold for decent profit to people to lazy to get exalted.

As for the drums themselves they are EXTREMELY useful for pvp. Yes it is a 1 second cast for a 2 second fear but they run pretty far and i can easily get off a 2.5 second heal or another chain lightning/shock before they can feasible attack me again. It also can be used when timed right to interupt casts or channels. Like AB flags?? Fun times with that :)

This pretty much gives me a free kill on a warrior or rouge every couple minutes.

Also all drums share the same cooldown. But do not share CD's with potions or trinkets. Drums have their own seperate one.

These make a nice fear for any class that doesn't have one, resto druids for one come to mind, and since it's only a 2 sec cast you don't risk mobs running too far and pulling more adds.

works great for anti-ganking action. For any leatherworker this will cost at most 5g to make if you have the leather for it. you can farm 4 primal shadow in death's door in about 20 minutes.

Usefull if you don't have agro.

      Use for free CC

      Example Use:
Mech last boss.  Free fear on the summoned adds.  Use if your not the tank.  Good for rogues.

*So you with the faction can make it and give it to you your LW friends with LW 350 who don't have the faction.

there is no pushback. Although it doeasn't work like Psycic Scream for example.....more like a reverse tremor totem. You cast it and it (takes like .5 seconds) pulses like (two?) times and fears up to five targets in those pulses.

        Review from use

The drum does need a 1 second cast time and aoe fears hostiles within 5 yards of you for 2 seconds.

You however need to literally be standing on top of them for it to work and sadly for some reason players have a very high resist against this drum in pvp battlegrounds but it does work in pve settings on normal non-elite mobs.

It's not worth the mind numbing Keepers of Time grind just for the drum if you already have some form of crowd control. If you have no CC (i.e. Shamans) or you are a leatherworker having difficulty with those last few levels (and want to get them done cheaply) then maybe it might be worth it for you.

Howl of terror this is not, psycic scream this is not but for such cheap mats and ample uses I don't think anyone can really comnplain about thier value for money.

Lastly I would advise leatherworkers that want it to use to find someone else that makes them and try them out (you can use as a lw). If you really like them then continue the Keepers grind, if theres another item at exalted that you also want then you might as well grind the rep anyway.

yeah i agree with this post. wtf is with the high resist? once every 3 or 4 players resist. i dont really care though, these are awsome. i made about 8 to get from 370-375 and each one has 30 charges and is cheap to make. the cooldown is only a few mins, so i use these allot in ab :D. im a resto shaman and find these are especially useful for breaking stunlocks. the 1 second (?) cast time is not affected by damage as people have already said.

the reason for all the resist in battle grounds is probably from all the priests that buff everyone with 70resist to shadow...which is hell for afflict locks and other shadow priests. And since terror and fear are for the most part shadow based the resist probably effected this. Other times its probably just bad luck.

I haven't used it yet, but im pretty sure you dont have to be standing on top of someone for it to get em @_@ Ive used a warlock and a shadow priest, the radius isnt large. Also, resist-wise: In BGs, players arent getting priest buffs EVERYTIME they spawn. Beginning of the match is the only time. I rarely have a priest cast anything besides fortitude on me when we have downtime after taking a node in AB.

regardless, it's cheap to make, easy to get the recipe, 0.5 sec cast, AoE fear, great for gettin flagcappers off, and for gettin a rogue and neone else near you off you. TONS of uses for it. I give it 5 stars.
