well, for me, it didnt drop, but it looked so cool, the dmg and dps is awesome, the crit rate is incredible, and the stats are mad as. With sword spec in arms i dunno why but i just procs almost all the time, I crit heeps to, great for pvp.

and now about sword spec and polearm spec
the polearm add a +5% crit (so with HR +7%(-/+)) (not so exiting at my opinion but its my opinion)
sword spec add a chance to have an extra attack all we loose to the HV speced polarme is 2% crit rating who is easily broken by somme enchant or stuff
i have this sword and it rocks hell out of here .
but in case of the hellreaver fall in the front of my eyes i'l need it (juste for the skin or in case of main 2h broken :)

I made an account just to respond to this. The AP you get from str for a hunter is mellee AP, NOT ranged AP. They are two totally different things. They only get ranged AP from agi. You don't want to be investing in str as a hunter.

I've got a hunter, and I would never roll against a warrior for this if it were dropped, but I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up in the AH if it were under 300 gold.

+ 28 stamina?
Stgth=useless to hunters, shame it's not agility. This would then be the perfect sword.
Oh, wait, how about an agility enchant for +35 agility?
if you get this sword for a good price (Say, <100) and throw a +35 agility enchant on it (roughly 200-250g) this sword will carry you well to 70 for a hunter.
Please remember, for hunters, DPS, strength etc is all useless. We look for raw crit, attack power, stamina and agility. Our Melee slots are really nothing more then extra spaces to stack stats. In an instance, I can count the times I melee on one hand, and thats always spamming wing clip so I can get back into aimed range.
This is the only 60+ sword I know of that has excellent stats for a hunter and is BoE so you don't have to worry about pissing off a warrior to roll on. All in all, A+++
A great alternative to this is Hellreaver
though only 20 less crit rating, rougly 1%

I had been using Destiny on my pally since level 52 and so I was extremely eager to upgrade to this beauty. Destiny was an outstanding weapon in every way but by level 60 it was definitely starting to show its age. The Blade of Misfortune takes things to a whole new level. The melee damage output against mobs close to my level is almost ridiculous, especially when you take the frequent criticals into account.
If you've been using some random green or old world blue when you upgrade to this weapon you'll probably be shocked at how effective it is. For a fresh level 60 character this is not a sword, it's an industrial chainsaw.
I don't no why someone said the DPS is not great... it is excellent the average 60 sword has 55dps fools
Got this off a boar at about level 62. Used it until I was able to get the Claymore at Halaa. I'm still hanging onto it though, as I just can't bear to part with it. Irrational gear sentimentality FTW.
Troll arms warrior: finally ding'd lvl60 and was casually checking AH for any goodies. Saw this for 60g, and had to read the stats twice and shake the marbles out of my head. I snapped it up fast, and thanked my Songblade for many lvls of service as I vended my old sword.
Flew to Azshara for another "get X to make magic Y to kill Z" quest (honestly, after 60lvls of this I barely skim the descriptions any more) and run past monsters to talk with everyone - still hadn't used the sword.
"Lessee, swim to round temple, and talk to giant..." Saw the place surrounded by murlocs and lobsters, "bleh, I'll just run past and into the temple where I'll be safe."
So I run right into the temple, and smack into the center of a room filled with 54's who pounce on me like I'm the lunch buffet. "At least I can dead-run across the water..." was my first thought. I do a jig to line them all up in front of me and went to work with the new sword.

I saw >1k crit go by, "Won't see that again soon... oh, there's another...!" a noticeable increase in crits and damage. MS became amazing. At about 10% health I use berserking and finally I'm fighting the last lobster who has full health. Bonk, Pow, Splat, Biff, Oof! until I have have enough rage for MS. Blammo! All done with 5% health left and me standing in a pile of dead things thinking, "Wow, this sword actually saved me from my own stupidity..."
I'm in love with this sword now. I sleep with it and read it story's before tucking it in at night. If you're an arms warrior and fond of Heroic/Mortal Strike, I can't think of a better weapon in the game at lvl 60.
What happened is this sword will now be about the best weapon out there until lvl 64-65 greens for new Death Knights. People with WotLK expansion will be happy to pay 500g for this in a few months to give their new Death Knights an edge.

This weapon will be loved by deathknights just starting out, you'll be able to use it when you hit 60, and will probably use it up to level 65.
I just got this today off a void walker in the warp fields. I'm a lvl 62 DK and this thing rocks. I'm glad i decided to keep it.
Sell it. The difference in power isn't too big, and the sword sells for ridiculous sums of money now. On my server the average price is 500g. Besides, you will "soon" find something better.

Warriors have a talent that allows them to equip 2 2-handers. That's what he's talking about. With that talent, you could equip one of these in each hand.
This is an interesting item, one of the few items that has seen a nice increase in value with the release of WOTLK. I'm assuming this is due to all of the new death knights. This is a quick sale at 250G, I know that because I've bought several over the last month for 100-150G and resold them for 250G in hours. I've seen them listed as high as 500G but I'm not sure if they actually sell for that price.

Found one in normal Ramparts, dropped from a random mob. Put it up for 800g buyout after reading some comments here. Sold in 30 minutes.

I got this sword w/ my dwarf DK questing in Zeth'Gor. Unfortuantly my main DK is an Undead on a different server. If my friend hadn't sold the sword he got, he was 64 w/ a better wep, id have it on my Undead...jerk.

this...the +1 stamin will outweigh the -1 to STR...with this you have more crit for aggro and a teensy bit more health...the STR on the other hand is what about 2 attk power? and it isn't even close to worth the parry (.25 rating)
Been farming Ramp for some green stuff for my alts in total i have done maybe 30 runs and gotten 4 blades that i have sold for 450g each! random people drop it in ramp but i think that is a good droprate for me atleast.
I find it slightly comical that this is called the blade of misfortune. Sure it's unfortunate for the person that has to cross someone with this blade. But I felt very fortunate when I noticed it in my inventory. 550g sold for. Huzzah.

Yah I am a Fury Warrior and I found one at 58 on my first kill in Hellfire then I went into the Auction and bought one for 100g. I crit'ed almost every 1/4 hits which is wicked when you have whirlwind. One thing though The Grand Marshal's Sword is still way better and then Ashkinda (81.1 DPS +33stam +86 AP) and Kalimdor's (81.9 DPS +24str +18stam Chanceonhit 271 extra dmg) Totally own Blade of Misfortune as the best lvl 60 swords. But they don't drop as often and you have to run a raid through Blackwing Lair and Temple of AQ to get them.

Well, I'm a 60 DK with this and it's REALLY good for me. I got it on 59, just killing Bonechewer orcs......then BAM, it comes up. Trying to sell it in AH right now. I'll have to check on it later...... If I can't sell it I'll use it. A fury warrior might find [Blade of Misfortune] and [Hellreaver] to be of use with [Titan's Grip]. Lot's of crit rating with those too, you'll probably crit 3/4 of the time.

One just dropped for me from a Hellboar in Hellfire Peninsula. About 2/3 way through level 57 (retadin) so have a ways to go before I can use this. Will probably just bank if for now and see where I'm at when I hit 60. A few days ago Demonslayer dropped for me and I got Demonslaying Enchant for mats plus a voluntary tip, but even against demons, Kang with Crusader Enchant is better. So having learned from that...hard to say right now.
Well when I hit 60 decided to equip it. Got Savagery enchant to add +85 Attack Power. So now I wonder what I was concerned about. Great STR and Stam. Big Crit and now more AP. A retadin's dream blade! A bit ago I was in Ruins of Sha'Nar (lev 60 ret now). At one point I was ganged by 2 Lev 61s, 2 lev 62s and a 63. Thanks to this sword and the amazing procs I survived without LOH. Did use Holy Light a few times as well as a drink of Healing but still. I was reluctant to put down my old Kang w/Crusader Enchant (sentimental value) but it only took me a couple of fights to realize this blade is amazing! I can only wonder what the next weap will be as I contyinue to level.
