Taming Zarakh by TDR3D, Score -0.36
I was a lvl 20 Blood elf hunter when i got him, and I had to die several times to get him but compared to echeyakee, at lvl 31 zarakh has more health and strength but a few less armor points,
and looks cooler because hes all black except the red on hes back. Horde can get it by going to Auberdine in Darkshore swim under the dock till u see a rock right next to the dock. You well aggro one of the guards. Just stand there till he warps yes he warps! to u then he well kill u then release but dont rez stay died run to the end of the dock and till u see the middle boat arive thats the boat to azuremyst isle rez then run on to the boat jump off before u get there, there r more guards. Stay on the coast fellow it around to bloodmyst isle look up the allies quest location for him up some path the leads to the mountains there he be with some other spiders after u clear the area hes easy to get. But no special abilitys VERY cool looking though. Might be hard on a PVP server. Njror Blood Elf Hunter Staghelm Server.

I tamed him when I was lvl 39 and he's lvl 42 now. Compared to my cat he doesn't hit quite as hard, but he has more health and holds agro better. He makes a good tank when I'm grinding and given the high amount of acrophobia on my server, he's my favorite PVP pet.
Tamed him tonight at level 19, had a few high level friends guard me while I did it. I was surprised to find that Zarakh's armor is some what high for it's level. Does a decent amount of damage and seems to hold aggro very well. I think the coolest thing about it is how it looks, however, it was very tiny after I tamed it which made me QQ a little until I thought of how evil it will look at 70.
I must say I was not sure what kind of a pet he would turn out to be...he doesn't have any extra skills...check him out..
http://petopia.brashendeavors.net/html/mobs/mob_zarakh.shtml but ... If any warlocks are out there he is very similar to the VW he tanks and does it well.... Armor at lvl 23 is like 2000 Resistance 30 in arcane, fire, nature, frost, and shadow is in the 40s an unbelievable pet I can take on a warlock with a VW no problem. the only thing that hinders this pet is if he falls asleep..... HE EATS ALOT!!!! Make sure he is well fed lots of meat he will eat certain types of raw meats, but can and will eat any type of meat we eat. Zarahk @ lvl 70 by Moonbiter, Score 0.00
I've taken him into Warsong alot and he's really good. I'd highly recommend anyone wanting a Spider to get this one. Not only is he a a great pet as far as DPS goes, he is also the only unique looking spider in the game.
Just clear out all of the other spiders around Zarakh before you tame him and you should be fine.

Umm all pets have the same attack speed unless you got cobra reflexes+serpents speed and frenzy then its 0.99 i believe.Anyway Zarakh looks pretty cool and is the only model like that.Your better off getting a ravager or cat for DPS or for a twink. It was pretty hard to get him for horde on a pvp server but on pve you should have no problem at level 19.
Side note here....this pet, loses much of it's coolness once you tame it. I have always known that the pets shrink, but after taming...I was amazed. This pet shrinks to about the size of a vanity pet, I mean it is THAT small. I know they grow, but it's not going to grow that much. I was hoping for somehing a BIT bigger.
But on the plus side, it's a nice dps pet and will be good for PvP since it's smaller size will make it harder to target. I'm still shocked at how small it is. P.S. - Set aside about an hour of your time for this, possibly more. It took me about an hour and a half due to getting ganked. My suggestion would be to do this run naked and save some repair Bills. If you are horde the way to do this: First, if you haven't got the quest to run to Zoram'gar to deliver the papers, do it. Also, don't forget to get the flight path at Zoram'gar as well. May as well do this since you are headed this way anyway. Once done with your business in Zoram'gar, hop back on the road and run into Darkshore. If you are pvp, then you are ok all the way to Auberdine. If you are PvP (like me) I HIGHLY suggest, running to the coastline and moving north from there. Don't worry about track beasts, just keep track humanoids up so you can keep an eye out for others. Once you get close to Auberdine, hop in the water. Don't worry about the threshers, they are easily avoided. Swim to the middle dock. No guards are going to port to you. Once at the middle dock go right below the surface and drown yourself. Once dead, that will put you right outside Auberdine, run to the end of the dock and wait for the boat. Once the boat gets there hop on, but don't rez quite yet. Wait for the boat to get there, then, as the boat is taking off, rez. That way if others are around, they don't know until it's too late that you are there. Once on the boat you are home free. The boat drops you off in Azuremyst, just run through to bloodmyst, and then make your way to Amberweb pass. Be prepared for a nice little fight up the hill, as it's infested with Spiders. Zarakh is at the top. Pull the two spiders that surround him, once that's done he is easily tamed. One note, pre-tame he hits FAST, not so hard, but wicked fast. If you are 19 and dont' have freeze trap yet, I would STRONGLY suggest using the super sticky glue that you got as a quest reward (assuming you did the quest). It lasts for a decent amount of time and by the time it breaks you should be well over half way done training. Good luck and be prepared for a small, creepy looking spider. If you are high lvl player (70) and need to lvl this cool lil spider up. I have found that in Hells Peninsula where the road leads down to the Citadel is a nice spot to level this pet (or any other lower lvl pet). The mobs are only lvl 62-63, the minimum needed to gain experiance and are easily killed. Many are either laying down or sitting and you can get off a crit shot ftw.
I lost 150 HP during the taming! It's rather easy with: - Gift of the naru and - Rough stone statue (Jewelcrafter stone giant that heals you for x seconds). :)
Had 365/516 HP after the taming. Another good tactic is to fully clear the mountain of all spiders, and then fear him with 'Scare Beast' and then tame him while he's feared. Sometimes he'll run out of range which is annoying, therefor it's best to first wing clip him and then scare beast ---> Tame. He won't run arround so fast then! Make sure there's no spiders left. He doesn't really have any abilities, and he becomes REALLY, REALLY small! However, it does scream your head of when it attacks, which is really cool for such a small tiny spider :) He's worth taming, in my opinion. Tip: When you've tamed him, feed him with the Crunchy Spider Legs you just found when killing the other spiders. It makes him happy pretty fast!
OMG.. in pvp w/ this pet u hide him behind the wall right next to the flag and aggressive...watch as the person taking the flag shits their pants. Lol >:) really fun pet and in shaded area's it's very hard to see..ill put a pic up of him in a week or so

Edit: (pics taken at lvl 19) From reading some of the posts here, I expected a somewhat smaller spider. I just tamed her, and she shrunk to the same size as the Myst Leecher I tamed to help me fight my way to her. When I set her on a mob, and she gets some distance on me, she does seem very small. But standing next to me she seems more like a 'normal' size pet. Perhaps her 'skinny' legs make her appear smaller or something. She also makes the same combat noises as the Myst Leecher, so if that doesn't appeal to you, be warned. (Sorry for being a stickler, but she is female btw. Quest log refers to her as "matriarch" :) Very cool pet IMO, though I don't know how her stats compare to others :) Re: Zarakh by Kitsune_rei, Score 0.00
Mine is up to 47 at the moment, tames him when i was about 35. I'm 48 and he still hasnt caught up to my level yet, so tame him early if you can. Ill add a picture when i get a chance of his current size, im happy with how big he is getting :D

I don't know about other spiders, but this beast is just plain FRIGHTENING.
It looks very scary because of the needle-like legs, but the worst thing is that it emits a horrible SCREAM whenever it Growls or gets hit. I got completely freaked out when our Night Elf hunter brought it as a tank for the Deadmines. The ultimate arachnophobia pet.
Someone far up said acrophobia lol.. "OH NOES AN ACROBAT!!!!!!!!!!"
This is a sweet pet. Kinda small, but when it attacks somethign it goes..
'Aikaaaaia!' That's pretty cool if you ask me. I was lv. 18 when I went to tame it, and I trained a bit on Zarakh's platform. A Draenei warrior came and killed it, and later on, it respawned on the spot I was standing on. I jumped out of my skin, and then it attacked me and went.. 'Aikaaaaia!' Then I died, and came back, dinged and tamed. Poison? by Battlegnome Productions, Score 0.00
I tamed Zarakh a few months ago when I was around level 21 - 23ish. I don't remember that very well. XD
But I read through here first before I got up there and I did as someone else did, tamed one of the other spiders, used that one to get me up there, killed a few of the other spiders surrounding Zarakh so there wasn't a chance of me dying while trying to tame her, and then, WALAH! she was all mine. :] And agreeing to what someone previously said, she is a fast hitter so watch out. I, being a Draenei, used Gift of the Naaru on myself right before I started taming that way I basically ended up with almost no damage to worry about because by the time I had her tamed, the other spiders had started to respawn. Keep in mind, Zarakh hits very fast, the hits keep coming so either being very well protected or having some sort of healing on right before you tame her like I did is probably a good idea if you're around her level. I am VERY satisfied with Zarakh, she's an amazing pet. Awesome in the BG's. Her scream is awesome, it scares the horde at the battleground so it's almost as good as a 2 or 3 second stun in most cases. XD But this spider is a very good pet and I would reccommend it for anyone.
The easiest way I've found to tame the hard to tame pets is to do a simple quest, if you're horde, for some slumber sand. Or go to westfall if your alliance and farm a few magic dusts. Either of them put the target to sleep for 20s(slumber sand) or 30s(magic dust). Voila, no more trying over and over again. Just make a simple macro to use the dust and start taming.
Enjoy!!
just got her on my hunter she has some badass dps and tankage
