Just dropped for me in the New Isle while i was doing dailys. Obviously it's a world drop, not just an instance drop :D
To be specific, it was off the Reservists on the Ships on the Isle of Quel'Danas.

Yes, I have also had the gun drop on the SSO isle, not sure if that helps:D
As can be seen from the other posts it's a random drop, mine's from one of the first trashmobs in Arcatraz.
Edit after using it a few days: It's absolutely worth it. OK, I didn't need to buy mine, it dropped in my group and I was the only hunter, so it is easy to say it is worth it. And as you can see from my screeny (sorry for submitting twice) the muzzle flash when firing looks cool.
As a beastmaster it's absolutely great due to the higher speed we have and the resulting better rate of the blessing proccing.
Logically it is at it's most glorious in longer fights, especially bosses - in farming with my luck the procc always hits when the mob goes down. Ok, I shouldn't complain to much about my missing luck... ;-)
Yeah, but BM Hunters get a 20% Haste bonus from Serpent's Swiftness. The proc rate is calculated without taking Haste into account, so BM Hunters are going to get more chances to proc at the same proc rate.
actually, it's not a raredrop from karazan, it's a world drop. (i'm the orc holding it outside of org on the screenie) dropped from trash mobs in tempest keep (one of the 5 man instances)and i was the only hunter in the group :) . procs VERY often, so well worth getting. don't get your hopes up about getting this cheap though, i seriously doubt you could get this for less than 2-3k gold on the AH.

It procs very often.
Myself i'm a beastmaster hunter which means i've 35% faster attack speed. I've the buff pretty much 50% of the time.
The best part in it is that it scales with pet.
I also have Abacus of the violent odds which adds a bit more than 16% haste when used which makes the gun even more overpowered. (Wish they fixed Hourglass of the unraveller)
this gun proc's 7.5% of the time, increasing my ranged dps 25.2 for 10 seconds, sometimes, it procs (santos' blessing) on top of itself, and also increases pets damage by 5.7 dps.
on a side note, it has a cool green glowing effect from the muzzle when it fires.
Santos' Blessing procs from both auto shots and specials. Well, I observed it proc from both Arcane Shot and Steady Shot, so I'm going to assume that it procs from *all* specials (not stings or volley).
After 1000 Santos' Blessing procs, Recap has this to say:

Honestly, this is the third best gun in the game currently. I believe the Wolfslayer Sniper Rifle is a small bit better then Don Santo's due to damage and stats making it the second best gun in the game. Currently the best gun in the game is the Barrel-Blade Longrifle which drops from Doomwalker in Shadowmoon Valley.
If you want to go ranged weapon wise though,Sunfury Bow of the Phoenix and Gladiator's Heavy Crossbow are the two best weapons in the game for Hunters (at least Marksmen ones). For a Beastmaster hunter, i can definatly see why this would be the perfect gun for them cause of thier talent speed increase which means it will proc more offten. But for MM hunters, there are far better choices out there honestly. Course if you aren't end game raiding and don't have a chance at the other mentioned weapons, then this is indeed the best gun in the game.
The proc rate seems to be pretty decent, but that short burst of DPS just doesn't do it for me in the long run. I want a ranged weapon that continues to help me pump out damage with it's stats and not just wait for a proc to go off. Thats just me of course.
got it 2 days ago 850g, proc rate is 7.5% but I swear sometimes it seams like 10%. procs non-stop if you can find one buy it you love it. From the looks of it I got mine really cheap.

This was ninjaed by a Paladin in regular Steam Vaults. I'm a 70 hunter and he out need rolled me when the rest of the group pass. Found a spot on his ignore list and now its on the AH for 2000g. Not worth it imo with the patch and the buffs of the KZ weapons. He's still an ass for taking it though.
But any alliance on server Warsong, don't support ninjas by purchasing that gun.
Best ranged weapon for a BM hunter engineer. Accept no substitute.

The speed off a BM will get you a nice proc rate
As an engineer you can make your own most awesome bullets

Even with the addition of constant new ranged weapons,this is still the best gun for BM hunters,accept no substitute,and especially when you rarely do raid/have a good guild that frequents raid.you could be much better earning gold than doing raid for it.The proc affects both the pet and the ranger,and given the heightened speed with the bm build,it would affect more frequently,thus making this weapon great.

as a lvl 69 hunter, i bought this gun for 820gs along with 7 stacks of rugged leather and 4 stacks of thick leather, and it was orginnally 2000gs Buyout. =P
i definitely got a good deal off this gun.
Bought this gun on Andorhal server a few days ago for 1200 (buy-out). Defintely worth it:
1) The coolness factor
2) Gives me great DPS (have it seen up to 800 when it procs, and it procs around 50% for me...not bad at all imo)
I picked this up for 800g off the trade channel the other day. It surprised the heck out of me that someone was offering it at that price. I bought it without a moment's hesitation. Will be saving it for my hunter who will be equipping it within seconds after turning 70.

im a BM hunter and i bought mine yesterday for 1300g. very nice weapon, but it seems to proc when it is less useful lol. my guild master said that i shouldn't have bought it and that it is worthless because it doesnt have any stats. i left the guild today, if such a stupid person is in charge there is no point to be part of it.

Seriously though... s2 crossbow... even for BM, you do about the same damage with s2 crossbow 100% of the time as compared to 5.5% of the time according to Mr. Recap up there.
Edit: Outta curiosity, I ran the numbers. S2 does far more, even for BM.
After patch 3.0.2 removed the need for tight BM shot rotations it is true that the 2.7 speed on this gun no longer makes it quite as good as it was, and that the s2 crossbow is comparable, or even slightly better.
However, none of this was true when you posted that comment, and the s2 bow was a laughable weapon for a BM hunter then. Fail.
Except that the proc added 18 DPS on a 73 dps weapon with no stats some of the time as compared to an 88 DPS weapon with stats all of the time.

Precisely. One dropped today for me, and ...my heart kinda sank. It could have dropped at any other time before now and it would have been priceless. I put it up for 500g to try it. Others on the AH were still up for 1500-2100 but I don't see why anyone would pay for that when the expansion is so close.
Just for reference it dropped on the Isle of Quel'Danas, like a lot of others it seems.
Update: Seemed to sell pretty easily at 500. Maybe I was too pessimistic.

Picked it up today for 325g from AH. Probably no point seeing my hunter will likely find a replacement in early WOTLK, but in the long run 325g isn't THAT much.
So if you can afford it for a cheapish price, like I did, I'd say do it, tides you well until you find a replacement, and like I said, if its something like 300g, it's not too much, maybe a days worth of 80 dailies (I dunno how much you get, main is only 74).
This was a great gun prior to WOTLK. Now, I see people struggling to sell it for 300G. I don't blame people for not buying. It is easily outclassed by any of the quest rewards in the early parts of WOTLK.
It's not worth buying unless you plan on staying at 70 for a while and aren't going to get the WOTLK expansion. Otherwise, save your gold unless you've got more gold than you know what to do with.
Dropped on my DK while running Sethekk Halls! One guy wanted to "take it for his hunter", but we all said we should greed on it. We all have "hunters" that could use that item.
Luckily, I won the roll. Thank god. I only have 300 gold right now. Pretty bad with an 80 hunter, 74 druid, and a DK. =/

Dropped off a Deathshadow Spellbinder in Nagrand for me. Being that I am level 80 Hunter this is going straight to the AH. First world drop purple for me though, so that was cool.
It's a good gun for Hunters, That and it looks great It's one of those guns you'll be lucky to be shot by...
