I posted earlier on how to combine the swords, but it seems that more people are having trouble actually finding them.
They are both drops in Zul'Farrak. Jang'Thraze drops from the chief, after the stairs. Sang'thraze drops from Antu'Sul, he's a boss in a cave. Where Theka the Maytr is, there is a hole in the wall somewhere in that room. Follow the path and kill every enemy you see. Then when you get to the cave DON'T GO CLOSE TO IT, he has an insanely high aggro span. Get your highest level to pull guys from the little rooms to the right and left, while the rest of your group waits at the middle part of the valley. When you are all ready, get your tank to charge him, the rest of team takes adds. When the adds are done, assist the tank until the elite adds come. When elites are gone, assist tank until hes dead. Thats what I do, get through every time. If you really want this sword like I did, be ready to do a ridiculous amount of ZF runs. If you have any questions, ask Medis on Firetree.

You need both Jang'thraze and Sang'thraze to get this sword, both are rare drops, Jang'thraze drops off the Chief boss near the end and Sang'thraze drops off the cave boss near the start. I got them both by lv47 by doing continous ZF runs, only took about 14/15 runs though to get them both. Once you have them both right click on Jang'thraze to begin combining them both together and congratz you got an epic 8)

Just to clear up and confusion....
This sword is very good for alot of classes (Paladin, Warrior, I have even seen a Hunter with Sul'thraze, and a Rogue who wanted to dual wield the two lesser swords). BUT, it is VERY hard to get. Be ready for ALOT of ZF runs. This is how you do it: 1)You must defeat Antu'sul in ZF (the boss hiding back by a cave). Watch out when you go the fight him he has MAD aggro range. He can drop one of the required swords (Sang'thraze The Deflector). The drop rate is like 1% or something, so be ready to do this alot of times. 2)After the battle at the stairs, the goblin NPC will throw dynamite and blow open a huge door. DO NOT TAKE TOO LONG TO TALK TO THE NPC'S!! THEY WILL HEARTH OUT (this happens very rarely) Wait until the goblin starts to run towards the door, then talk to the NPC's. Defeat the rest of the NPC's and heal up. You have to defeat the Chief (can't remember his name). He will drop the other part of the sword (Jang'thraze the Protector). This also has a drop rate of 1%. 3) Once you have both swords just right click one of them (they both have to be in your inventory) and you will get Sul'thraze The Lasher! Now, you can get the lesser swords in either order. I just kept running ZF all of the way through until I had one, then I just grinded the other out. If you are going to do this is 5 man groups, I would say that you should ask everyone before you go in to the instance if you can have the swords if they drop. That is what I did, sometimes you get a warrior, or even a Rogue that wants one of them. I would just drop group and look for another. If one happens to drop and you are wanting it, you will be HEATED if someone else gets it on a roll. If you are a Paladin, and know a tier 2 fury warrior, you can just have him run you through a bunch of times, throwing him a heal now and again, until they drop. Be prepared for ALOT of runs no matter what. I ran ZF 29 times to get both. The first one dropped at my 20th run, so don't worry if you are not seeing results too quickly. Many people are asking questions about Sul'thraze the Lasher and hopefully i have some answers.
1- It looks really good =D(argueably even better looking then Thunderfury IMO). 2- Its made from binding two blue (superior) 1her swords which are also pretty decent themsleves (jang'thraze has this nifty little shield thingy =O). 2- To fuse them you just equip jang'thraze and have sang'thraze in your bags. Right-click jang'thraze and it will casting a spell ( only takes like 5-10 secs if i remember but it feels like FoReVeR!!! when your actually doing it)This means you can fuse if you are a pally (i heard this guy wondering if pally could fuse because they can't DW). 3- a) Jang'thraze drop from Chief Ukorz Sandscalp (last boss). b) Sang'thraze drops from Antu'sul (that pansy basilik summoner in the cave with the ridiculous aggro range). 4- Very sadly, i got fiery on it about 25 minutes after i got it only to be disappointed...it doesnt show. I doubt that any chants will show up with their respectable glows. 5- If your not 50, DW the 1hers!!!! ( i fused them at 47 like a tard). 6- I used this from 50- 58 until i got this sword in LBRS( IMO Ice Barbed Spear is good BUT a) its a slow polearm, b) Everyone has it so its not that cool =/ (( many hunters have it but the Lashers intimidating look send them running and feigning death the whole BG)),c) i doesnt look nowhere as good as the Lasher). 7- You slap this bad boy on with a wedding dress and a witch hat( or similar silly outfits X-P) and make your way to Southshore for some GOOD TIMES!!! /wipe butt with squashed gnome Any more questions send a tell to: Breakurlegs Horde (DuR!) I'd just like to let any1 who wants to get Sul'thraze to know that its deff not worth the time and effort getting since, u can pick up Ice Barbed Spear one level later which is alot better for any1.
Sul'thraze the Lasher Binds when picked up Unique Two-Hand Sword 108 - 163 Damage Speed 2.60 (52.1 damage per second) Durability 120 / 120 Requires Level 50 Chance on hit: Strikes an enemy with the rage of Sul'thraze. Lowers target's strength by 15 and deals 90 to 210 Shadow damage with an additional 125 damage over 15 sec. Ice Barbed Spear Binds when picked up Two-Hand Polearm 155 - 233 Damage Speed 3.60 (53.9 damage per second) +13 Strength +21 Agility +20 Stamina As you can see Ice Barbed Spear not only has more dps but is slower which is great for Mortal Strike/Crusader Strike(Warrior/Paladin) and has stats which is a hell of alot better for a hunt than having none, tho the strength on it is useless to a hunt the stam/agi on it are still the best u can get at 51, so in the end you just replace Sul'thraze in one level. To know where to get Ice Barbed Spear look at the Comments on it, just sort thru all the crap and find some1 who actually tells you what ya want to know.

Hunters should NOT need roll on either of the two swords for this unless you have explicit permission to do so (or noone else wants it). Parry rating and a melee proc don't exactly add much to a bow, gun or crossbow, hmm?

I am a paladin, i want this sword real bad. I had both swords drop same run once with a hunter in the party. Go figure! the hunter needs both and unfortionitly wins both. Most hunters are complete douche bag idiots. You do not need CoH's (chance on hits) you need stats!!!
So to pay this hunter back from needing the two swords and getting what should have been mine... We got paired up in the que a few days after for Zul'Farrak. We were in the middle of battle when i took out a random mob and the Percisley Calibrated Boomstick dropped (an epic gun). That hunter got all excited and happy until he saw me click the NEED button. Then he wasn't so happy. I told him why i hit need and he got all defensive. I won the need and he started begging me for his life for the gun. I just sat back and laughed. I sold the gun a week later in AH for 300g. I have nothing against hunters what so ever. I actually perfer the class, I think it's awesome. But if you're going to need things that are not good for your class (no matter what class you are) expect payback.

Okay, as an aside, I do have a 70 hunter. Some people are not quite understanding how our class works. I will explain why hunters should never need this weapon.
A hunter's melee DPS is weak. There is no talent spec to make up for the weak melee DPS. That is why you play a Hunter, for ranged DPS and a little tanking beast. Survival hunters and combo specs deep in Survival will attempt to tell you that there are melee hunters. There are not. At least none who do much DPS. Your weapons are much like a mage's weapons. What you need, as a Hunter, is AGI. A lot of AGI. AGI and attack power bonuses are the only way to raise your DPS ranged, which is where your DPS should be. Either dual wield or 2-hand wield, but make sure whatever you carry has the maximum stats added. The only things you need to melee are if you screw up or your tank screws up. Whichever happens, your weapon only needs to wing clip. You're better off holding your mob at bay and asking for a tank to help. If you are meleeing for any reason other than you or your tank very seriously screwing up, you need to reevalutate how much you want to play Hunter. If you like melee DPS, that's fine. Play another class. Therefore, this weapon is damn near useless for a hunter. It has a chance on melee hit and gives you no stats. All it has is a dot and a high attack output for melee attacks which are based on weapon damage. You can have green weapons with agility and stamina boost that will do you much more good. That being said, I just combined the swords for my 50 Paladin recently. The DoT is good if it procs early, but the best thing has been the boost in my SoC and Crusader Stikes. I still don't know if I'm going to grind for the polearm next level. I got both swords on back-to-back runs so it was definitely worth it. It's a seriously good weapon, especially if you're soloing as a Retadin or MS Warrior. But please, Hunters, trust me when I tell you to leave it alone. The swords are rare enough that it really does matter if you're taking them without really getting a lot out of them.

so the other day i was tanking zf with my warrior and i had jang'thraze looking for the other
its finally dropped that run after about 30 runs and a hunter in the group needed its and i was pissed cuz he won it then right when we were kill like the last mob until we were done Bow of searing arrows drops. Had a level 70 guildie run me through ZF last night. I'm a level 45 warrior. It was my first ever run through as a warrior. Lucky enough for me, both of the swords needed to make Sul'thraze the lasher dropped for me. Right now I'm dual wielding both the blue swords with amazing results, but once I get to level 50 I'm going to combine them!
I consider myself pretty lucky - I've read lots of comments online where people run ZF dozens of times to get the two blues required to make this weapon. I happened to get it on the first try. Guess I was destined to be a great warrior. :p THIS IS NOT A HUNTER WEAPON. Hunters should PASS on this gear, no greed roll, nothing. don't be retarded. ok, wut i got, i think i was pretty lucky. I got a level 80 rogue to run me through zf, and i hit 45 that run and got sang thraze. The very next day, a level 80 mage runs me and i hit level 46, and get jang thraze. since i have a little extra money, i get icy wep on sang thraze and fiery on jang thraze. THEN when the swords are no use to me, i will turn them into sul thraze. so all of u that turn them into sul thraze the minute u get the second 1, i wouldnt, u can get a whole bunch more levels out of all three, (or two scientificly) then u would with just 1 right away... and i have a gnome and those enchants make me look awesome. got it today. I was tanking a run and got the first part from Chief Ukor Sandscalp. Then getting the other half was a bit harder, soloed Zul'farrak to Antu'sul, didn't manage to beat him but I got help from a guildie. Very lucky, I got it after two tries.
i would just like to say someothing about the hunter discussion...
i leveled a hunter 1-70 back in TBC entirely as melee, back when surv = "melee dps". Getting right up close to enemies alongside your pet, thats what surv used to be about. It wasnt that bad either, i did about the same dps as a ranged. u may be saying "hunters dont have enough abilities to do melee dps", but think about it. paladins, one of the highest dps in the game, pretty much only have crusader strike and divine storm. Anyway my point is, hunter pelee is plausible, although nobody goes for it these days. i never recieved either of the 1h-ers on my hunter, but now im going for the 2h on my 46 warr. already got Sang'thraze, wish me luck on the other one! :D Add Comment
