It also drops from Mor'Ladim. Thats the lvl 35 elite that roams Raven Hill Cemetary in Duskwood.
Where do you think the name of the staff came from after all?

Got it of a croc in dustwallow marsh :)
same here, i thought i was going nuts or somthing; completely random
wow.........i was surprised that a murloc droped it
My shadow priest will love this (got it in the Monastery last night) if it procs a lot. Does it?
I also got the Illusionary Rod (Doan's staff). Plan to use that one for grouping and this one for soloing - if it procs a lot.
Opinions from more experienced players?

Got in a chest in Arathi. I am a druid and STFwhat if I use it? Heh, there are occasions when a group just completely suxors and you're left to fend for your self with zero mana... a single hit with that chance shadow or fiery on it has saved me at least once. Of course, I should avoid groups that suxors but... I to help and play. Ah, yeah and I'm only level 33, so sure there will be a time when something else comes along, but still... a pleasant surprise none-the-less. I have a nice enchanter in my guild and this thing is definitely cool. -shrug- so what if Im a noob, Im having fun. Someday Ill frown on others, too!

this staff is a little crap ill admit, no mage warlock or priest would use it over illusinary. but however i do beleive a shaman would benefit from this staff the most, i mean imagine what would happen if it procced off on all 3 atks on a windfury? also thismay just be my opinion, but i think since this weapon has existed since the beta mebbe this was an attempt by blizz to give casters a hybrid feel when they run out of mana, to perhaps go and run into battle screaming like a lunatic with this :D.
i'd say its a shaman or even warrior staff...it would be used primarily for meleeing anyway
I found it off a turtle in Dustwallow Marsh
found mine and it doesnt work. Shadow bolt doesnt happen. They said i found a new bug in the game. I want a new staff!!!
- Just found one of those today it was dropped by a Crushridge Enforcer in Aranthi Highlands in the Ruins of Alterac.
tried this "joy stick" out and it is actually quite cool, i am a lvl34 warrior at the moment and think it is fun to try out new weapons.
Im no pvp genius but i actually beat the living shit out of a lvl 33 shaman with it :)
That moron saw me while questing in STV and probably thought loser! when he saw me wielding a staff :). Anyways he learned a lesson after 5 beatings, this kid on steriods probably got obsessed with killing me cause he never gave up after the fifth killing he brought two friends a ?? druid and a ?? hunter, which corpse camped me for a while. All i did was \chicken him when i ressed.
So after this incident it has become my beat the losers stick, and i will find a new one when i lvl just to piss off you nevrotic people :)
I got mine off of a conjurer in Stormgarde keep after about about 1-2hrs of killing in a 3 man group for Stormguard Badges.........it doesnt even say that it should drop off these guys.....i got lucky
if im a druid and im using that staff...woud it send a shadowbolt when im shapshifted
this is not a caster item it is a warrior staff!
I am in agreement on it being a warrior staff. I rarely, if ever, have seen a warrior wielding a staff. However, given that it has been said earlier in this that it was around during the beta then it could be blizzard made it during the beta so that warriors would actually use any variety of weapons. Thats just guesswork. I only back it up with the fact that there are no major buffs on this blue staff (no int, stam, spirit, mana regen, anything) and what is on it is a on hit ability. Couple this w/ a 2.8 attack speed (I've seen 1h swords with higher) and it looks like a warrior should be wielding this.
Again, just an opinion. Don't care who buys it really, I'm just glad I killed that bird who was following me.
if u want a good staff for u lower 30's u should use the Illusionary Rod! i got it at level 33, and quickly leveled to 34. This staff will be with me until i'm level 40 probably. unless, of course, i find a better staff...
The "Black DUSKWOOD Staff" drops in all places but Duskwood..
Just sold for 19g on the Auction House... first time post too. May not be worth using over the Illusionary Rod, but it appears that it will sell.
ok wait guys does this proc on spell hits? or does it proc when hit someone with the staff? if it procs when u hit someone with your staff this suddenly doesnt become so good.
OK, I'm getting sick of this.... enHANCEment- not enCHANCEment or enCHANTment or enHANCHment. Geeze.
I find this staff usefull in wsg. As a holy preist the only spells i can cast while running are scream, pain and nova and nova is a manna eater. so wen running after efc and not at full manna with scream on cooler i switch out this. It also is a spell cast so my plus dmg to spell is added to its proc (about 225 with my shadow spell dmg add). I love the wispers from the rogues "wtf was that you hit him with?"
Found the staff in SM :D in a chest. was dead happy.
I got it from a chest from RFD. I was pretty amased that rare of an item was in a chest.
I got this staff in chest in Badland. :)
Sold for 155g 80s on Anvilmar server.
Juest droped of the a large solid chest in SM armoury... how much shood i sell it for?
Just got a drop in Uldaman
it just dropped for me off a shadowmaw panther in STV. seems to only drop there. kool hahaha
i got it in a chest in SM
Dropped from ogre in Alterac ruins.
hehe dropped by one of ppl bloodsail in stv
Who ever said this isnt a druid staff is terribly wrong. Sure it has no stat bonuses, but try putting firey enchant on this staff and it can dish out some serious damage. Oh, and yes it procs both shadowbolts and firey enchant in cat form :D. A chance to proc either fire or shadow dmg each what.. 1 second or something? Definitly worth having for druids!
I dont think druids were able to proc "chance on hit" items in feral forms back when those were posted. Though having never rolled a druid I dont know for sure.
Ah yes, it changed in a fairly recent patch, druids can now gain chance on hits from weapons whilst in different forms..., the person a few posts ubove me probably didn't realise that those 'others' we're posted like a year ago, things we're different then.
