It has a low maximum dmg.

It is "One-Hand", not "Main Hand"

Conclusion = Fast Offhand-Dagger for applying some poison to your enemies, while you have a slow, high maximum dmg weapon in your main hand ... (I'm using Skullforge Reaver as mainhand weapon, since I'm lacking a better one right now)

Hey Rogues, if any bow or gun that gives you a bonus to attack power, base %'s, or stats drops, roll on it!

After all, that attack power will add maybe a fraction of a damage point to your high end melee damage!

                Here are some candidates:

Ancient Bone Bow, gives rogues +11 Agility!

                http://www.thottbot.com/?i=37260

Striker's Mark, +22 Attack power! improves your chance to hit by 1%, a rogue drop if i ever saw one!

                http://www.thottbot.com/?i=27150

Burstshot Harquebus, +10 Attack power!  Damn rogues, drool, that's at least 0.5 extra DPS, it's time to roll!

                http://www.thottbot.com/?i=13248

Since Hunters feel the need to roll on every item they can use,
Axes, Bows, Crossbows, Daggers, Fist Weapons, Guns, Spears, Staves, Swords, Thrown, Two-Handed Axes, or Two-Handed Swords, and because rogues can really only use one weapon they've specialized in in melee, we owe it to our greedy hunter friends to start rolling on bows, guns, and crossbows!

Go ahead, roll on a really good ranged weapon when there are hunters in your party, it FEELS GREAT!  When they complain, just explain how you really "needed" it because the stat bonuses apply to melee.

And don't forget, that little attack power or stat bonus could REALLY help you in a pinch when you are in melee if you have a good ranged weapon in your rogue arsenal!

Any good master looter will realize what is at hand with an item such as the one we see here.

You look at the bottom line in terms of how the class thats rolling on the item will use it.  Both classes, in this case, have valid points for rolling.

Hunters: fast attack, more chances for wingclip landing, more attacks in the small amount of time he gets close to you.  attack power for his ranged weapon dps.

Rogues: fast attack, great for off-hand, providing more chances to proc poisons.  attack power for dps.

The one thing that would push this item over the edge for rogues is the fact that the class relies on melee DPS for their combat.  Hunters on the other hand have a bow/gun for main attacks, making this clearly a rogue-over-hunter item...

If no rogues are present or the rogues pass, go for it hunter!

Having a 60 rogue and a 59 warrior myself, I can see the reason both would want it. A fast weapon is necessary for warriors to keep rage coming in hard and fast. More rage equals faster sunders, equaling better crowd control. Any warrior that goes 2h as someone mentioned. Isn't a real tank.
But, as everyone knows, rogue's clearly should have first priority on any dagger.
And actually I would prefer a fast axe/sword/mace for my warrior, such as Serathil. That serves my warrior just fine. Still does decent damage to actually help kill the mobs while generating enough rage to keep sunders coming.

                          Instant Attacks

The mechanics of most instant melee attacks have been modified to improve item balance.

Previously, instant melee attacks did damage based on the damage range of the weapon, plus a bonus for the player's attack power. This bonus was then multiplied by the speed of the weapon. As a result, slow weapons did more damage than was intended, and fast weapons were considered inferior by most players.

We have changed the way the attack power bonus is calculated for instant attacks. This change does NOT affect attack power calculations for normal melee attacks. Instead of multiplying by the speed of the weapon, the attack power bonus is now multiplied by a fixed number pulled from the following table:

                          Two-handed weapons: 3.3
                          Daggers: 1.7
                          All other one-handed weapons: 2.4

                          ===================

Glad I never have to run instances with PuGs, really feel for some people who want something they'd actually use while a bunch of little brats sit there screaming how it's not for them just because they want the item for themselves/think they know the game inside out.

As for all the people who say hunters don't need mele weapons and they should learn to kite, if you're playing a mele class and can't keep a hunter in mele with you (unless they can chain trap you) then dunno wtf you're doing, as a warrior if I get charge on hunter they're damn well going to be using mele for most/all of the fight.

I like the stats, but like hell am I going to deny some poor sod a decent dagger just for the stat.

So i went and got Demon blade of power (green), which has +30ap.

                        Warrior equivalent = 15str
A rogue needs 30 of str/agi to match it.
A Hunter needs 15agi to match it.

All before we take into account crit/dodge. These things are nice for a Fury Warrior, nice for a hunter, insane for a rogue.

All roll on it, but think and, tbh a hunter can get more raw AP out of Lightning reflexes and 2xBone-slicers (33.8ap), which come from the same instance.

This is a rogue's off-hand dagger, probably the best blue one in the game.

Rogues want fast attack speed on off hand for poisons.  As of 1.12, the only blue I know of that is faster than this is julie's, which has lower dps.

On an off-hand dagger, all procs occur half as often, so static bonuses are basically always better.

Attack Power is the best stat for a rogue, if you work out the math AP is the single largest contributor to a rogue's damage.  Only +20 agility could compete with this, which does not occur on any blue dagger.

AP is easier for other classes to acquire.  Warriors get 2 AP per strength.  Hunters get 2 ranged AP per agility.  It is certainly a nice dagger for both of them though, and could easily be an upgrade.

However, it IS best for a dagger rogue, and also it is THE best off-hand that a rogue could acquire before they go epic (and better than many epics).  I am pretty easy going and wouldn't be offended if a warr or hunter rolled against me for this, but I do show restraint on items that are better for them, and I appreciate when it's reciprocated.

Tbh Eversince a Huntard rolled on a sweet pair of LEATHER legs for my rogue I haven't grouped with one since. Yes he won and he had much better legs for what he basically was. A RANGED based attacker. Tis bullshit.

Tis a nice oh dagger and I could really use it i'm using two shocking weapons atm since from 48-62 there are fuck all weapons for a Dagger spec/ambush rogue :(
