The bonuses afforded by these gloves apply only to the one-handed variety of weapons, i.e. one-handed axe, one-handed sword, etc.

Not that bad for a fury spec warrior, really (apart from the mail AC). My warrior screw-around alt will be dual-wielding axes or swords indefinitely, so another level and a half of weapon skill on either would certainly do some good for grinding out XP against higher level mobs.

I love how I'm sitting here reading about the best dual wielding fury warriors DPS gloves in the game and people are DEing them and selling them for insanely low.
Idealy IIRC for best results in raid DPS for dual wielding you need +15 to weaponskill or so and no more then 19% crit + 1% for every +1% to hit on your gear to an extent, theres also some signs of a soft crit cap due to glancing blows being uncrittable hence the desire for + weapon skill as it seems only weaponskill actually reduces the frequency of glancing blows . by pumarega, Score -1.3
This blurb from the WOW Wiki - Calculations and Formulas. http://www.wowwiki.com/
Each point of weapon skill you have over your opponent's increases your chances to crit and hit by 0.04%, and reduces your opponent's chance to block, parry, and dodge by 0.04%. Effectively you can consider it to be the inverse of the defense skill. In addition, against mobs that are two or more levels above you, you will have a chance to land a glancing blow instead of a normal hit. A glancing blow may not crit and has a damage reduction proportional to the weapon skill to defense difference. Weapon skill reduces the severity of the damage reduction, not your chance to land a glancing blow. For example, against mobs three levels above your own, with 300 weapon skill approximately 40% of your swings will be glancing blows, and the damage for those will on average be reduced by 30%. With +5 weapon skill, you will see the same amount of glancing blows (40%), but only 15% damage reduction. With +10 weapon skill, the damage reduction becomes negligible. got em.. by ShalJin, Score -0.41 Worst epic ev0r by Chiefpala, Score -1.3

For bosses and level 63+ mobs, these are the best DPS gloves in the game for Warriors, period. Nothing else even comes remotely close.
It's funny that two years after release, people still don't see the value in +weapon skill. In my previous guild, I was the MT and was trying to extol the virtues of +weapon skill to the DPS Warriors in my guild, especially by grabbing a pair of Edgemaster's. They explained to me that the gloves are trash and that I should just shut the fuck up and stick with tanking, and leave the DPS'ing to the DPS Warriors. Lawl. That same day, one of the DPS Warriors in our guild completed his Warblades of the Hakkari set and got the +6 sword skill bonus. His glancing blows doubled in damage. They all quickly realized that they're idiots. I quit the guild a couple days later. Of course, the Hakkari Warblades are mediocre weapons, so you don't want to rely on them for the weapon skill bonus. Get two real 1h'ers and then strap on your Edgemasters. The weapon skill bonus on Edgemaster's will FAR surpass whatever stats you may have lost for wearing them. Long story short, if you're a dual wield Warrior, get the Edgemaster's. They're the best DPS gloves in the game against raid bosses and high level mobs.
These dropped for me tonight in ST. I think off of one of the trolls, but I can't quite remember. My first epic piece, gonna see how much I can get for them at auction.
EDIT: I got 35g for them, realm Dentarg.
these gloves should be leather IMO
and have50-70% of the armor they have now. NEED more sword skill as a rogue, and I have both undead and orc rogue. there is absolutely nothing that gives me sword skill in the whole game :/ These gloves rock, maybe? by Ddavi, Score 0.00 - by Dharx, Score 0.63 Plus to skills sucks now by Pietato, Score 0.62 Gonna have me some fun. by Thomasuwoo, Score 0.63 BUYING by wildmace12, Score 0.00 Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by peacerivakilla, Score 0.63 Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by Yimmi, Score 0.62 Re: Dropped in Tanaris off of a Dunemaul Brute by Zirr, Score 0.63 Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by shadowpoint, Score 0.62 Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by shadowpoint, Score 0.62 Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by urthgental, Score 0.00 Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by davsfc, Score 0.00 Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by shadowpoint, Score 0.00 Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by Missharing, Score 0.00 Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by thorinszeal, Score 0.00 Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by 13th, Score 0.62 Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by explode99, Score 0.00 Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by Yakmagi, Score 0.63
Saw a hunter wearing these in HFP, laughed hard at her.
Why i hear you ask? Because A) There are much better gloves out there for hunters at lvl 63. B) Almost all her gear was Stam/Strength. Which moron put the idea that hunters are good for melee out there? HUNTERS SHOULD NOT MELEE

I bought these for 37g from someone in the trade speech thing and i have been watring to sell them, but are they any good? like imma pally and im 32 and im planning to get to 44 soon. is it good just to keep them?
I picked these up on the AH for 45g.
Dragonscale Gauntletscost anywhere from 30g-40g at average on my server. Leveling a shaman, you dont get any +hit% until mid to late 40s anyways. When fighting mobs 1-3 levels higher than you, unless you use pure magic (which gets resisted quite a bit) you always see a lot of your attacks miss dodged or parried. I had these on my warrior back when weapon skill and glancing blows were a big thing, and they proved to be a viable part of my gear. I think these, giving that there is no AP or stam, are still VERY good for the level and should carry you to atleast 60! Really nice for any dual wield character.
If u are horde and u combine it with the quest reward "rune of the guard captain" ( http://thottbot.com/i19120 ) u will have 27 hit rating and that is a very good probably to hit for that level. The near 2% chance to not be dodge or parried is a very interesting. Best regards
The to hit rating is awsome i agree. Those that say they suck on a hunter generally havnt watched the amount of arrows that miss your target. Yes they dont have stam or agi on them but if your planning on leveling at higher level mobs or twinking for pvp then they are a must. (especially for duel wielders of any class as you automatically get neg's to hit for wielding 2 weapons)
Your other gear should make up for the loss of agi, stm or str (depending on class). But whats the point of using a big spell/ability if there is a higher chance that its going to fail. How many times have you seen your Aimed shot miss or your exicution or storm strike. it annoys the crap outa me. So if you can use these gloves then do your self a favor and equipe them. You will not miss half as often. As for tanking, they are godly. Above all i hate idiots trying to pull agro and then complaigning that they die. So this should make there jobs so much more difficault because you land alot more shots. Congratz if you get them.... Re: Edgemaster's Handguards by Palrphanu, Score 0.00

Got this from the AH, spent a lot of money for them, but well worth it. Slapped a 15strength enchant on them for my shammy, helps a lot, one thing that sucks as an enhancement shaman is your slow weapons to miss or be dodged, this helps both.
