      FALSE.  This is entirely possible with a smart 40-44 group, as long as the tank is 43+.

      FALSE.  Immune to polymorph and frost nova, yes.  Immune to fire, NO.  Just a bit resistant.  With my mage, I got about 60-75% successful fire casts on them, and I was 2-3 levels below them (42 mage attacking 44-45 earthen).  The casters seemed to have less resistance, as in an entire run, I only remember two of my attacks on those casters being resisted.

      "When it comes to the later MOBs (the Earthen + Golems before Archaedes) please be sure to deal with the casters first, then the golem, and finally the remaining Earthen."

      Definitely drop the casters first, but I'd suggest hitting the golem last.  Just off-tank it to the side while your main tank and dps drop the rest of the earthen.  The golem is relatively easy for a 42+ off-tank to hold, and the group takes less damage if the earthen are dealt with quickly.

        I heard that the whole of the instance except the main boss is doable with a 42-45 group, is this correct? Or have some groups been successful with no levels above 45?

          I can vouch for whoever said that because I just took a group between 41 and 44 through ULD, we wiped at the final boss, with 600 HP left.  And we could of beat him, but it was so late that we gave up.

            You can complete Uldaman including the final boss Archaedes with a good group at or around level 43.  My last time there we had a 44 druid (main healer), 44 pally (backup healer/tank), 43 warrior, 41 rouge and a 45 mage.

            The final boss fight is just long, not difficult.  Here is the general strategy.  Tank is of course on Archaedes along with anyone else not killing the non-elites adds that spawn (our mage did a good job with these).  Once Archaedes is down to 25% health or so two elite adds spawn.  At that point everyone should go full DPS on him ignoring everything else.  At least that works for me...

          Just wanted to say that we had a underleveled group last night

          41 warrior
          41 paladin
          42 mage
          43 hunter
          35 priest

          we did very well, no wipes except for the boss we got him to 23%. I just thought I would share this, the zone is doable with a lower level group if you have a good team who knows how to play, and my boys did well last night.

                The 35 was a priest.  He can still heal them.  Obviously not as well as a higher level, but it's still something.

                I've been in many groups where a priest was just a safety net.  A lot of the time with good pulls, higher levels and time to drink and heal in between battles the priest isn't a major requirement.  I've completed many instances after our priest has dropped like this.

        The last boss is cake if you have a balanced group.  We did it and the highest level was 45. 

        Have the tank stick to the boss.  Tell your tank to bust out the shield, and get in def stance.  The boss can be disarmed.  Do so.  He also swings extremely slow, so your warrior should time his shield blocks, if you do that, then he's only hitting your warrior for about 100 - 170 every 3 seconds.

        Have the priest just watch health.  Don't waste big heals, it's a long fight, but nothing that gets out of control.

        The rest of the group should focus kill the mobs as they become active. 

        Once the boss is down to 25% he'll spawn guardians.  Everyone rush the boss and take him out as fast as you can.  The guardians die when he eats floor.

          You can avoid all the adds but 3 of them if you kite the boss out of the room.  Once you summon him, run out of the room, he will NOT follow.

          Go back and range attack him, he will immedially run out of the room.  Close the door.  At this time you can train him all the way down.  Three adds will follow, just kill the adds.  Then the boss is all by himself.  He will do the animation for summoning more, but they won't come.

          Quite easy when he doesn't have all those adds.

            The tanks primary job is to hold aggro and keep it away from the HEALING classes first and foremost.  Everyone else follows after them.  It's up to DPS classes to try and control their DPS to prevent getting aggro and risk dying.  LRN2TANKKTHKSBAI.

            As a warrior, I totally dissagree with "Tanks have one and only job in an instance..." DPS classes need to control their DPS, because im more likely to use taunt on a healer then on some dumb DPS class. Unless your proc. spec, taunt has a 10 sec. cooldown, something you DPS classes need to learn.

              Amen.  I play mostly caster dps, but my druid sometimes tanks or heals, and I agree *completely* with this.

              The tank has two key jobs, and they are tough enough.  They must keep plenty of threat on their main target (either the first kill or the hardest hitting boss), *and* get some threat on every other mob in combat before the first heal gets cast.  Healers cannot do their job without putting a bit of aggro on every mob in combat.  Everybody else can choose who to put threat on, and it's their job to only put threat on things that the tank is holding securely or that they can handle.

              As a mage, I will sometimes AoE and this is very efficient with large groups of low level or non-elites, but it's my job to wait for a situation where I have enough power and emergency measures to hand to keep myself alive until most of the mobs are dead, *and* to make sure the healer is ok with me doing this, in case I misjudge slightly. 

              If I misjudge by a *lot*, say I let fly with a blizzard or AE spam and end up being swarmed by 6 elites at 1/2+ health with FN, CC and blink all on cooldown, that is *my* problem and not the healer's or the tank's. 

              If I insist on doing dicey AoE with only one offspec or low-level healer in the party, I might be a moron.

              If I'm not doing AoE and I regularly draw aggro that I can't handle, then I'm definitely a moron.  It is not that difficult to keep from being hit as a ranged dps if we are controlling the fight.  I should either be hitting the main target, or taking some easy mob where I don't need any help (or healing) to finish them off myself.  Once in a while, I'll blow this and hit the wrong target by accident or get a crazy crit. 

              Oops.  I should have snares available to keep my guy near the tank for a bit without taking much damage. 

              Or maybe not - in which case, help me if you can, but if not, let me die -- *my* problem. 

              If I do this repeatedly, it's not just a clicko and I would expect to be *booted* by a decent group leader if it was causing real problems.

              Everybody blames the healer or the tank, but most of the time, the problem is some dps who doesn't realize that their job, while much easier than the tank's, is not just shooting anything that moves and yelling "heal me!  heal me!"

        the master enchanter was tricky to find. after the room with the miniature looking town with the entrance to giant, there is a hallway after it. when you reach a fork in the road turn to the right. there shuold be a valley of scorpions level 41 non elites. keep goin to left of valley. make the fist right turn yuo see. in there, will be about 10-20 scorpions. when you kill them all the master enchanter will be there. i pray that you have some money. i went in at level 37 was broke and didnt go back till 40.

                  the back entrance is easier to clear the zone, a few 40 elite troggs guard it, and theres the obsidian elemental, which has high resists and splits..

                  the entrance is in dustwind gulchm about halfway down the badlands, and to the east, its a cave in the side of the right spire on the map

                          Yah!! We finally made it!!

                          We were able to kill the final boss yesterday.

                          Warrior 44, Mage 44, Pally 44(me) and Priest 44

                          That nice 2-handed sword droped !!

                          Here is our tatic:

                          Warrior engaged the boss and priest was his only healer. Mage and I were alternating killing the little adds (was was self healing and healeing th mage when needed. 2-3 magic arrows and 3-4 hit from my axes were enough to kill one add.

                          When the 6 dwarfs in the middle spawns. I tanked 3 while warrior tanked the others. Then everyone was back to their normal jobs.

                          Once the boss hit 50% the warrior stops attacking until the mage and I kill all little adds.

                          With all adds down (except for the elites) everyone jumped on the boss. (this is where it gets a little confusing since we were 1 member down - less dps) The warrior taunts one Elite gollen and I take agro for the 2nd one. Once agro is stablished we both turn on boss again.

                          If the gollens jumped the priest I was able to BoP him once or he could cast a spells to lose agro. The mage could shield up and/or blink so I could re establish agro. I was all the way assisting on heals and taking the gollens from casters. While the mage and warrior were only attacking the boss. It is crucial to keep the boss on warrior and the mage free to blast the thing down (since mage is the real dmg dealer here) Once boss is down the elite gollens disapears and everyone is safe.

                          Well, the Uldaman final boss camp season is open now. Since I have the 2handed sword loot I am going after the rings now

                              Since no one else has made much mention of the Back Door.... I shall ... its at Dustwind Gultch, SE of the main Badlands entrance.  Its in a cave "Dustwind Gulch Cave" and is guarded by 39-40 Elites

                              I've been to Uldaman countless times now, and seen even good groups wipe at the end (upon encountering the stone mobs, and then at the final boss) if they don't use a good strategy.  On the other hand, I've seen mediocre groups successfully beat this instance with a good strategy.  Here's the best way I've seen it done.

                              Once you enter the boss' extended chamber you'll face many mobs of stone guys.  Most of the mobs will have the following setup: 1 or 2 small white guys, 1 big stone dude, and many smaller regular stone guys.  These mobs can be hard.  The white guys are like fire mages and they have very high dps.  The big stone guy is tough and has the distinctive feature of stomping, which will stun everyone nearby and interrupt any spells nearby players are casting.  It's a good idea for casters to avoid being near this big stone stomper if posible.  The best strategy I've seen is to kill the white guy(s) first, then the big guy, then kill the rest.  I don't think any of the stone guys in this whole area can be sheeped, sapped, feared, or otherwise controlled.  If anyone finds out differently please post.

                              In the first chamber, there are about 3 of thse mobs which should probably be pulled out so that no one runs into new mobs prematurely.  After the mobs are killed, there are 4 stone giants which need to be woken before the door into the corridor opens.  Touching the altar wakes em up.  They'll wake up one at a time, with the next one waking immediately after the previous one died.  These guys hit hard and can quickly kill any casters that aggro em.  It's hard for the tank to keep aggro here because it doens't carry over from one stone guy to the next.  Casters should probly take pains not to draw aggro, and also to conserve mana because there are four of em!  It's rather amusing though watching thse giants chase after casters, they look like big stone zombies.  One notable feature: when one of these giants dies, he'll fall dramatically on the floor.  This isn't just cinema: standing under or even nearby to his falling corpse will cause you alot of damage, so party members try to pull back when he starts falling.

                              In the next few corridors leading to the boss, watch out because there are two very big patrolling stone dudes.  It's very difficult to kill both the pats and a mob; successful group usually check if the pat is around, then pull the first mob into the previous chamber.  After killing the first mob it's possible to wait for the pats and kill them separately from a mob.  The rest of these corridors is just filled with more of the same type of mob as earlier.

                              The final boss:
                              Archaedus is the enormous titan in a chamber with lots of other stone guys.  There are three types of stone guys: small ones, medium ones, and big ones.  He wakes these guys up depending on the percentage of life he has left (so at 95% hp he might wake up little stone guy #3).  First Archaedus wakes up about half of the little stone guys, one or two at a time, then he'll wake up all of the medium stone guys at once, then some more of the little stone guys, and finally he'll wake up the big stone guys. 

                              The best strategy I've seen here takes a while but works like a charm.  The tank attacks Archaedus while everyone else takes out the guys he wakes up until he wakes up the big stone guys.  When the big stone guys are woken up it can be a bit of a mess killing them; I think you can close the door to the corridor though and so eliminate 2 of the big stone guys, could be wrong there.  Anyway. 
                              So before the big stone guys are woken:  Slow and steady is the best way I've seen it.  Casters conserve mana because it'll be needed later.  This part should be very easy as long as you go slowly enough... if you go faster, it's more difficult to keep everyone alive and there definitely won't be much mana left for the difficult part.
                              After the big stone guys are woken:  Everyone ignore them and attack the boss.  They won't wake up till the boss has pretty low hp, and when the boss dies so will they.

                                    The back door is closer to Lethlor - just look north west of lethlor - and you will see a cave entrance on the west side of the mountains there -I was initially thinking the back door was closer to Uldiman - but it is not.

                                        Has anyone ever seen this drop pendulum of doom seems to be imposible to find sense thottbott has a 0.0% drop rate it says and it is the ultimate shaman lvl 39 or paladin and warrior twink item at 39. Has anyone seen it?

                                          holy crap the new patch changed ulda a lot.  i ran it yesterday when the patch came out and the first thing my group noticed was that we couldn't summon a 45 guy in our group.  i've ran ulda ten times before patch and last guy has always been a 47 elite. this time he was only a 40 elite. they nerfed ulda like no other with the patch.

                                          Just finished running Ulda. Our group consisted of:
                                          38 fury warrior
                                          40 fury warrior
                                          41 shadow priest
                                          42 enhance shaman
                                          41 ret paladin

                                          We had no tank, except the last boss, where I the 40 warr, tanked.  So basically, we spent the whole time dpsing our way
                                          to the boss, never had a problem.  No wipes, just two deaths.
                                          Besides I gained 3/5 of a level.  This patch has really changed
                                          instance running at lower levels.

                                            yes now is easy, before was alineal dungeon, the mobs started 36-37, and the las boss was 47, now is a 36-40 instance.

                                          For alls info  Player BALTHNAR on Hyjal realm is a jerk, he hs done this mny times to others, he gets on team and at end NEEDS on all items from boss to DE them, then tells you "too bd" I need money, report me", so i decided to let all know, this is ment for all u guy that trust players, becareful about him

                                          Just a little lore.... blizzard left out a very important part of lore... Ulduar the titans had created the dwarves in 3 domains, Uldaman, Ulduar, and Uldum.. reading from chapter 2 Ironforge- the awakening of the dwarves- When the world was sundered by the Well of Eternity's implosion, the earthen were deeply affected. Reeling with the pain of the earth itself, the earthen lost much of their identity and sealed themselves within the stone chambers where they were first created. Uldaman, Uldum, Ulduar... these were the names of the ancient Titan cities where the earthen first took shape and form. Buried deep beneath the world, the earthen rested in peace for nearly eight thousand years.

                                          Though it is unclear what awakened them, the earthen sealed within Uldaman eventually arose from their self-imposed slumber. These earthen found that they had changed significantly during their hibernation. Their rocky hides had softened and became smooth skin, and their powers over stone and earth had waned. They had become mortal creatures.

                                          Thus afterwards forming Khaz Modan or Mountain of Khaz after the shaper titan, Khaz'Goroth.. eventually becoming Ironforge.. blizzard needs to read their own lore and stop leaving important details out......
                                          This left me wondering why they hadn't added Ulduar to WoW.
                                          P.S.- this is 2,500 years before Warcraft 1 (earthen = dwarves)

                                            Uldaman is at Eastern Kingdons, And Uldum at Kalindor. So Ulduar should be at the other continent (Northrend), which leads me to believe we will see it at WoTLK.

                                          This is an ideal instance for lvl 38-43.  There are a good amount of quests that you can pick up, and then do 1 run to turn them all in.  1 full run + quest turn ins, and I went from lvl 42 to lvl 44.  Not bad for 2.5 hours (1 hour for all the pre-quest stuff, and 1.5 hours for instance run) of work.

                                          Plus, at that level, I completely outgeared the place that it was really easy. 

                                          NOTE - I was surprised how few people even go to this instance anymore.  I PUG'd it, and no one else in the group had ever been there.  Wow.....

                                          last boss is easy as i was with a group
                                          43 druid me (tank)
                                          42 and 39 rogues(DPS)
                                          43 priest(healer)
                                          44 Hunter (secondary tank and dps)

                                          we just all attacked boss and priest healed only when really needed coz once you kill boss all addys die instantly.
