I've spent 15 minutes running around the mountains trying to find an entrance to Nijel's point.

I must be missing something here...but it's gotten to the point where I think I'll construct a catapult to fling me over the mountain range..

        Alright I've got it...

The entrance on the map doesn't match the actual entrance, it's east of where it looks like you can get in from the map.

I would have noticed this earlier if I didn't pay attention to the quest saying "It's easy to miss" and to "head east" which takes you into mountains...

It's not easy to miss, there are guards standing outside ffs

I found it annoying as well.  It makes it look like the entrance is on the side you come from, so you try climbing and finding the right path while having to fight endless annoying creatures, but you do get some decent quests once you finally find the place.

most most mountain entrances have a nice little light pole / totem (horde) ;) / landing strip to give you a clue as to where the path is leading up to it so next time you are looking for a path and running along a mountainside look for the hints of civilization :D

It took some time to search for this place, once did was so simple once you checked the map. Once you come out of Stonetalon mountains (by road) fallow the mountains on your left side it is in North/East  mountain section between road and a place called "Sargeon" look for Lights and collums plus guards in front  of the path.  When you stand at the sign post that says "Nigel point" the sign points east but move N/E. you can even see the tall collums from the sign. once there  you get more quests plus a new flight path. hope this helps.

Everyone who hates to die follow these simple instruction catch boat frome Menethil Harbour to Auberdine and swim from Auberdine to Ethel Rethor make sure you stick close to shore line when swimming in Veiled Sea otherwise you get fatigued and could drown. Otherwise easy peasy as a level 40 hunter with combat pet bear Bighty only beasts/humanoids i came across whilst swimming were level 20 or thereabouts and hardly bothered me only had to kill maybe 3 or 4. Once you're ashore in Ethel Rethor follow paths and there you are in Desolace couldn't of been easier. Make sure you have plenty of food pet can eat and keep an eye on his happiness icon as soon as you notice he's at 100% take a break from swimming asap and feed him one piece of food should do it providing you haven't been neglecting him or her.Make sure to click on your position on mini-map then click on world map to make sur you're on course (south) sometimes helps to zoom out if you can't see you're white arrow. Plus when you get to the Caravan Place where there's the vendor robot head north and you're right on the pathe to Nijel's Point.

It took me a bit to figure out how to GET to Desolace in the first place!  :p  So if anyone else has the same problem:

Get to the Stonetalon Mountains region.  Go into the Charred Vale (path at 45,41) and walk across it.  Entrance to Desolace is at 27, 83 on the other side of the Charred Vale.

Once in Desolace, head left hugging the mountains.  The columns and guards at the entrance to Nijel's Point are at around 67,16.
