Almost funny to hear people say how useless/waste of time Engineering is.
60 Hunter and a proud gnomish engineering. This is how USELESS I am, end-game; Thorium Shells - sell well, great to use, also great to make for your raid as well. Goblin Jumper Cables (or XL versions) - if the group wipes and I survive, cables to the rescue! XL versions never seem to be much different, I have a better proc rate on the smaller cables. Ressing your priest or shaman is instant kudos. Scopes - Whoever you are, if you use a ranged weapon, odds are you'll bung a scope on it as well. Gee, let me think who makes those... and as for profit on these, well, guess that is a server-by-server issue. Field Repair Bot - If you are in a raid group, bringing out one of these babies after a few wipes will put everyone at ease. Engineers feel the love from your fellow raiders at this awesome little thing... Seaforium Charges - Doors. Boom. 'Nuff said. And as also mentioned, we make many other things - Salt Shakers, quest items, explosives, guns and so on. Engineering a waste of time? Dead-end job? Hardly... just take up mining to sub, sell your excess and take it steady... If you buy materials, well... that's just silly... edit: Also, to remind everyone - and I mean no offence to Thottbot at all - but it only gathers info from the users. From my understanding, this drops from many, MANY other things and generally also found in Solid Chests the world over. So you don't need to limit youself to just Tanaris, or just on one enemy... share the love, overcamped areas are no fun to anyone. Just bunging this edit in as some advice. Thottbot is great, but you also need to know how to interpret the data... Anyway. Happy farming to all of you! Luck be with you in finding this schematic and anything else you want. Farming necklaces and this dropped off a lvl 46 Soothsayer. Have a gnome warrior/engineer that can use it. The schematic has a buyout of 93G on our realm. Deadly Scope schematic has a buyout of 2.5G. Deadly scope buyout at 2.8G. Sniper Scope buyout at 6G. Makes sense to buy for 50G if you have the mining skill to do your own farming but I wouldn't pay higher for it. I was just runnin around tanaris, and (with my dwarven awesomeness) saw a solid chest out there, guarded by two lev 45's. I passed it on my way out, and on my way in i decided to loot it, to my surprise
i got 3 mithril ore, this scope plan, and some other stuff. I now never pass chests.
Well, while I was doing Jintha'alor quests in Hinterlands I found mine in a chest. I play on a small server (Nordrassil) and i'm trying to sell mine for 64g b/o, people say its a rip off. I know its not, from what you guys are saying how you can even out in a few days. Either way, i've just been getting lucky with rares lately anyway =D.
Sniper scopes sell like hot cakes for all the alts leveling up, the mats are roughly 3g and the scopes sell for 18-20g.

One of these just dropped for me off a mob in the Western Plaguelands (I think I was in Andor'Hal) yesterday when I was leveling my Priest.
I put it on the Auction House for 50g and it sold in a couple hours. Dalaran-PVE just sold on Darkspear for 250g by Trise, Score 0.00

Got this farming uldaman thinking about how much to put it up for thinking about a couple hundred gold on illidan alliance.
Picked it up for 30g on AH - more than I wanted to spend - but for a Schematic I don't want to farm, it seemed like a decent price.
I've been hoping to find this puppy for a long time but no luck so far, so I figured I'd buy it off AH if there was one... Well, there was, but it was posted at 341g bid, 380g buyout! Holy crap, I don't mind giving sellers a reasonable profit, but that's just ridiculous!
just found this on the kirin tor server for 200gold buy out, woo woo woo for me
