Personally I have found this engineering recipe to be a good money maker.

1 Heavy Blasting Powder, 1 Iron Bar, and 1 Silk Cloth will sell to a vendor for 5 silver. 1 Iron Grenade sells to a vendor for 5 silver. But the plan creates 2-4 Iron grenades, thus doubling to quadrupling your profit.

This means a stack of 20 of each ingredient, (which alone sells to a vendor for 1 gold) can be turned into 2 to 4 gold (an average of 3 gold).

Now that I am closing in on level 40 and need the money for a mount, I'm going to spend a night just hunting for iron deposits and silk cloth. We'll see how much money that gets!

Its exactly what i did! When i was about lvl 38, i was farmin Iron Deposits in the Alterac Mountains.

I think its the best place to make a lot of money as an engineer.

If you go out on farmin Runs in the Alterac Mountains, go during the night time. There are really many Iron deposits in the eastern Ruins of Alterac zone. And the best is, there are lvl 35 - 37 Ogers wich drop much silk cloth.

If you are running low on heavy stones, just take a visit to dalaran. These rock-elementals there drop heavy stone like it is nothing!

With this strategy i've had my mount in about 3 Days!

I'm lvl 48 now and Iron Grenades are still the best ressource / profit items for Engineers.

This item will make a nice profit but this is rare, and blizz has nerfed alot of these things down. So my advice is use this to make a profit now and don't wait tilll it's nerfed :D

On my server at least, iron bars sell at auction for about 10 to 30s each.. the same goes with cloth.. so.. selling something made of both these things for a total of 5s would not be a good idea.

In general, selling stuff to vendors is only good for junk items or things that won't sell at auction. (Unless you just need to make Iron Grenades for the engineering skill.. but I'd rather use them to blow stuff up.. if you just need money, sell the raw ingredients.)

Can anyone use these or is it something only engineers can use? I'm under the impression its an engineer only type bomb.

Only engineers with 175 engineering skill can use these grenades. As a warrior, I find these pretty useful in PvP situations for whenever a mage or druid roots me to the spot, as they also do a three second stun in addition to the 150-210 damage. And I recently discovered on my own they are also worth lots of money for so few materials.

Now I can escape at last!

This is a item that a lot of lvl 60s use, they dont do A LOT of damage, but the stun is almost as good as the higher level bombs, but the casting is like 4 seconds shorter. these are the best thing for a mage and a warlock. every lock and mage should be engineering just to get these.

Interupts flag caps and it's cheap to make. Great for those instances when people park their mount over the flag while a gnome tries to cap.

This also has a 40+ yard throwing range

Can't somebody tell my why it wouldn't just be easier to sell all those grenades on the AH, instead of getting a measly 5s from a vendor? On my server, these things can go for 1g per 10.

And for that matter, wouldnt you just make more money by selling the raw mats?

These nades require level 175 engineering to make. They also require 175 engineering to use. Therefore, if you're buying the actual grenades for more money than it costs to buy the mats, then you're pretty stupid.

The main reason to vendor them though is that it's a definate profit, whereas the AH will not always be responsive (server dependant). If you can sell the mats for more consistently than these vendor for, for 3x the vendor price, then making these for cash is unnecessary.

Yes, you can throw all grenades while moving. There should have already been a thread about throwing grenades while moving. But yeah, in BG's, they're awesome.

Chasing a FC, throw it in front of them(takes some practice to get it down good). Being chased while being the FC, spin the camera round to see how close then are, then throw accordingly (usually just in front of yourself to compensate casttime, airtime, and detonation).

LOVE EM!!!! also good to throw against an AB flag when someone's trying to assault it

This + Repetence + Hammer of Justice = teh own.

Unreliable against targets over level 50 now... thanks a lot blizzard, making us pay considerably more for thorium grenades so they don't resist all the time. If you want to nerf an item, nerf it, don't make us pay more money for essentially the same thing. LAME.

I'd just leveled my enginer to 175 JUST to get these. Next morning I install the patch and guess what: Unreliable against targets higher than lvl 50... GG Blizzard fuc**ng naabcakes...

Well i'll spoil my secret to u engineers. Deadly Blunderbuss.You can make them at low levels and they require 8 copper bars to make. You can sell these on the AH for 2-5g each.People(around lvl 30) need these for a quest. so u can sell these easily.

BTW I am horde no idea if it's same for alliance.

It's for a Horde-only quest. Warsong Supplies or some such thing.

Many people uses this quest to be greedy and sell those Blunderbusses at ridiculous prices.

this one owns everything. Stun and damage, while ur running, good to have when counterspell is on cd :P

these gernades are amaing 4 pvp. Its an aoe stun that can be used while running, wat more can u ask 4 the perfect pvp weapon. Plus selling these make almost no money compared to selling the mats on AH.

One time when I and some others where guarding the flag in WSG, a person came in with a bunch of hunters and started frost trapping, freezing trappeing, and one person used an iron grenade. We didn't stand a chance. I am really pissed to this day.

Yeh these are prety awsome ;)

Note that bosses are apparently immune. Tried it on the final guy in SM Library, and no dice.

I'm a level 40 troll hunter, and I swear by these. 100-200 damage may not seem like much, but trust me: it makes the difference.

Are those grenades can be used in arena?
