I hot him at lvl 59.  If the 1.7 patch goes through ok, he should lvl fast enough.  He is a rare one for alliance!

What if I started a horde char just to get the quest and get that character killed while doing the Echeyakee-quest (that is after calling the lion)? Would I be able to tame Echeyakee with my hunter if nobody else kills it in the time I need to switch characters?

who is better for a hunter? the rake or echayakee?

The Rake is Much, much higher DPS, but is also plain looking and harder to find =p

ok, i tamed the rake at lvl 13, it was lvl 10, im now lvl 15, and the rake is lvl 14, but now i got the echeyakee quest. My first pet (a dire mottled boar) did about 25-30 damage per hit, and the rake duz 8-15 at the same lvl. should i stick with the rake jus bcuz he attax faster, or should i go for humar or echeyakee?

having no luck as an alliance trying to tame this beast, i'm a 20 dwarf hunter on wildhammer and ill gladly pay for a horde to help me capture, anyone interested?

I've just loog from have sitting and trying to get this damn lion for almost 12h!!! Arggh!!! Benn killed like 20times and has only being tameing like 5times and never been close =( sick of it that horde folks just cant let me tame and then summon agian! A well its a day tomorrow too! =/

when a horde summons him where does he get summoned at? im a night elf hunter looking to tame him

At first, i was going to get a guildie to get on a Horde character and summon Ech while I waited to tame him, but I couldn't get it worked out.  I do not recommend sitting and waiting for some player to summon him as they will most likely kill him before you can tame (many folks will not know what you are trying to do anyway).

The quest is only about lvl 15 for Horde, and that's attainable enough.  Get on a Horde character, summon Ech, log off, log back on Alliance toon (which you should have pre-positioned before hand), tame, enjoy.  If, by some chance, someone comes along and kills him between you logging, have your Horde toon abandon the quest and go get it again... repeat process.

Unfortunately, Eche isn't great at all. He is VERY slow. It has an attack speed of 2.0!! That's too slow. If you really want a unique looking lion, look for Humar the Pridelord for it has an attack speed of 1.3

if you can, get the rake.

there are 3 differences in the rade and echeyakee, they have the exact same DPS.

1. the rake hits much faster, but for less each time. echeyakee hits extremely slow, for more each hit.

2. the rake runs much faster, im pretty sure it's 145% of normal...echeyakee runs slow as hell. just normal.

3. echeyakee look cooler.

go with the rake, cause he hits and runs much faster, which is a burden to casters cause they'll never get their spells off.

i only tamed EK because of his looks..he has more armor than normal but health and DPS..all same..i would b a  BEAST MASTERY hunter to buff him up with talents..he pretty cool but humar kicks his ass any day

Hey people, I play a NightElf Hunter on Bloodscalp. I want to tame Echeyakee as my pet, but I need the help of a willing Horde player to do so. Bloodscalp being a PVP server makes this difficult. I hung around Echeyakee's spawn for 2hrs this morning waiting for someone to show up but besides the person who'd died just before I got there (Echeyakee's corps was still on the ground), no one else came to do the quest.

If any horde players with the quest would be willing to give up Echeyakee just once so I could tame him, I'd really appreciate it. I'll even clear out the area of other creatures so you don't get attacked, and I'll help you kill him on the second go at the quest!

If anyone is interested please reply to this post. I really would appreciate any help.

i have a 21hunter with echayee and he crit a 20 war for 88(before1.9) but the rake is a better pvp pet cuz of his attack speed

eyk is worth it ok?! but make alot of food cuz he never stops eating hes great 4 a pet and thats wth i think

Ok the BEST pets are humar and the rake so i thnk you should get the rake at lvl 10 and humar at lvl 23

Let's just say I had a terrible time trying to tame. The first time some night elf hunter took it from me and tried to tame (and I was so ticked off I killed the NE). Then Eche killed me... finally I got a 41 hunter to help me out but I still failed at taming TWICE before finally getting him. Each time I failed I had to run back and re-get the quest. But now I have my pet.

It isn't a bad pet, very pretty too. I'll be happy to keep him until maybe I can get humar, and even then I'll keep him in the stables. I have to actually do the quest now though.

For alliance....camping Echeyakee and waiting for a horde to summo and then stealing him away is trully a great rush....win or lose...espesialy on a PvP Server.  It is tantamount to a real hunt, with a great prize that you feel dead chuffed to pull off.... it is an incovenence for the horde who has to run back to X-Roads and start quest over....but come on....that hunter has probably been camped there for ages!  As to rolling a horde and Lv up just to summon for your Alliance Character....or getting a friend on horde to help....well

You will just never know how good it feels to pull it off by *actually* hunting the prey un-aided.

Or, you could just level a tauren hunter, get the quest at lev 11 and summon, log off, long on alliance hunter, as I did.

Humar has a unique black skin coat with green eyes, along with his 1.3 attack speed he is a wanted pet. He isnt that hard to find, I've tamed him twice on both of my hunters are my first visit to his little tree.
anyways, back to the advantages -
1.3 Attack Speed
Black Skin
Uhhh.....Rare Spawn?
That's about all.

Eche
Eche has a unique white skin coat with blue eyes, he has a 2.0 attack speed which ISNT BAD for some people. 2.0 attack speed means a big "First Strike" with prowl. There is also a higher level version of Eche named "Sian Rotam" who also spawns from a horde quest in Winterspring, he is level 60 elite. I tamed him and he can do 300+ crits with Prowl.
Advantages -
2.0 attack speed, alot of big "First Hit" people like him for the big damage.
White Skin
Only horde can spawn him


Now, to tell you the truth, they are both easy to get, just get a god-damn horde to do the quest for you, aint that hard. And the attack speeds dont really matter ; a pet is a pet. Wowwww!!!! a level 23 humar may be able to kill a mob 0.2seconds faster then a 23 eche. Only one difference : Humar hits faster, but weaker. Eche hits slower, but harder. They have next to no difference in over time damage.


a pet is a pet. in the end it doesnt really matter, since in endgame most "Good" guilds dont even use pets. In pvp? well, your noob pet won't do much and will die in a few seconds, but I guess if your foolish enough to go Beastmaster Spec well.....I feel sorry for you. Sure, you can rip through a caster 5 levels lower then you BM specced, WOW! A CASTER!... Anyways, go and find out yourself.

Well since blizz nerf/buff'd all the cats.  its 1sec attack. its a great cat. but then again so are all the rest now  :(

I created a Blood Elf hunter for the soul purpose of spawning Echeyakee for my 31 NE hunter. If you blow the horn on your horde toon then log out you have plenty of time to log in with your Alliance toon and tame him, just make sure you are at least near the area with your alliance toon before you blow the horn with your Horde toon. Echeyakee stays for about 3 minutes if left alone. I have also used my Horde toon for a lvl 61 hunter to get Echeyakee, he said Sian was too hard to camp.


If you want Echeyakee on your Alli character and don't feel like making a horde toon then just send me a note on Basthet on the Stormrage server.

Found out a little to late how awsome and rare that cat is for Alliance. Im lvl 70, but I want that cat so bad.

Has anyone tamed him as lvl 50+ ? Is it possible to lvl Echeyakee up that much?
How does pets get xp?
I have to kill mobs that I gain xp from? =r as lvl 70 around my lvl?

The Horde who summoned him just stood by and watched as I tamed. The first try failed for whatever reason, but the guy just kept letting me do it. Pretty cool of him. Awesome looking pet.

My lvl 31 NE Hunter is now lvl 39 and so is my pretty kitten. He's not statistacally much better then my Giggler or my Gorrilla or any other pet I've had, however I do get people asking me often where I got him. ^-^ He's gorgeous and matchest my blue and white armor.
