Ill give a shot at explaining it since people are having trouble:
1) Do Dragonkin Menace quest in the Burning Steppes: http://www.thottbot.com/?q=1237 2) This will start off a long chain of talk to this person, talk to that person kind of thing that will have you hopping back n forth from SW to Lakeshire. Eventually it will lead back to back where you got the 1st quest. He will tell you to travel into Blackrock Depths and find a captured guy in jail. 3) Turn in his quest. Now, any mob in BRD will have a chance to drop a crumpled up note, which starts off the next part. 4) Return to the guy in jail. He will give you a quest to retreive some things for him in BRD. 5) After that, he will ask to be escorted out. Be sure to clear the mobs around the prison and the ring of law before starting it. Even then, its quite difficult. 6) Go back to Stormwind Keep, watch the chaos ensue around the king. 7) Go to Winterspring, get the quest to kill the general in upper Blackrock Spire. 8) Get his blood... only 1 per raid. Go back to Winterspring to get the Drakefire Amulet, and your key into the instance.

Do Warlord's Command In LBRS. Kill Omokk, Voone, Wyrmthalak and retrieve the documents. Take Documents to Thrall and then go to UBRS and kill Rend Blackhand and Loot his head. Take the head back to orgrimmar. (warchiefs blessing) go to talk to Rexxar in Desolace talk to the hag in western plaguelands Go to UBRS and collect 20 Dragoneyes from the dragon guards Go To the hag and get the emberstrife talisman talk to emberstrife in Dustwallow Kill the 3 Dragons around the world (One in Swamp of Sorrow, Winterspring, Tanaris) i.e. Test of Skulls Kill Axtroz in Wetlands for final test of skull Go talk to Emberstrife and get quest for blood Go to UBRS and kill General Drakkisath. Loot Blood Talk to Rexxar and get Key Fused. Now u have the key to Onyxia's Lair.

(Spoiler: Onyxia) 15) Stand way the hell back while Bolvar fights the elite dragons. 16) Travel to Winterspring to find Haleh. Find lots of elite blue dragons and run to the back of the cave, where you'll see a rune on the floor. It's hard to see, so you will die a few times. 17) Haleh tells you to go kill Drakkisath in Upper Blackrock Spire. You will need 15 fairly skilled players for this quest, including yourself. 18) Once you have the "Blood of the Black Dragon Champion", return to Haleh. Drakkisath drops only ONE of these per kill. Yes, one for the entire 15 man group. Not one per person, one per group. 19) Return to Haleh with the Blood and claim your Drakefire Amulet. My 59 paladin now has his. :)

To the 1 that was asking if onyxia was 1 of the dragons that enchanted the world tree, here is the right info:
Alexstrasza, the Lifebinder, placed a single, enchanted acorn within the heart of the Well of Eternity. Nozdormu, the Timeless, placed an enchantment upon the World Tree Ysera, the Dreamer, also placed an enchantment upon the World Tree by linking it to her own realm, the ethereal dimension known as the Emerald Dream Onyxia is not 1 of them.

Alot of stupid questions and statements here:S /shrug. I'll try to answer a few of them and make some statements of my own though:
1. The Horde quest IS actually way harder, and thats not whining. 2. The questline to get the key/necklace starts in BS for ALliance with Dragonkin Menace, and in Kargath, Badlands with Warlord's Command for Horde. 3. EVERYONE, that means 40 people, needs to have the key/necklace to enter Onyxia's Lair. 4. You must be at least 58 (on Horde side that is) to do the first quest in the Onyxiaquestline. To do Onyxia, atlest 90 % of the raid should be lvl 60. 5. Yes, she drops tier two helms (b.i. Helm of Wrath) 6. Ragnaros in MC is probably the hardest boss in WoW. 7. She has been killed with few people, but dont kid yourself, she is HARD and those who have managed to kill her with less than 30 people must be considered experts with great equipment and tremendous skills. 8. This instance is for High-end guilds who know what they are doing (today that is quite a few) and many of you noobs who write here won't ever be able to kill her ^^ onyxia by Gormous, Score -0.98

Walkthrough - Drakefire Amulet:
1) Go to Kargath and speak to Warlord Goretooth in the tower. Click his conversation icon repeatedly to receive Warlord Goretooth's Command. Use this item to receive the quest, Warlord's Command. Warlord's Command Slay Highlord Omokk, War Master Voone, and Overlord Wyrmthalak. Recover Important Blackrock Documents. Return to Warlord Goretooth in Kargath when the mission has been accomplished. Important Blackrock Documents: 0/1 War Master Voone slain: 0/1 Highlord Omokk slain: 0/1 Overlord Wyrmthalak slain: 0/1 2) You will need a full party of five for Blackrock Spire(BRS). The documents spawn randomly at one of the three bosses above and only one per instance can be acquired. This quest may NOT be raided! 3) Upon completion of Warlord's Command, you will receive the quest, Eitrigg's Wisdom. Eitrigg's Wisdom Seek counsel with Thrall's advisor, Eitrigg. He can be found in Thrall's chamber. 4) Speak to Eitrigg in Thrall's Chamber, then return to Thrall. He will give you the quest, For the Horde! For the Horde! Travel to Blackrock Spire and slay Warchief Rend Blackhand. Take his head and return to Orgrimmar. Head of Rend Blackhand: 0/1 5) You will have to attend a raid of Upper Blackrock Spire (uBRS) to get the head of Rend Blackhand. Do so, and once again return to Thrall in Orgrimmar. All the occupants of Orgrimmar will receive a buff upon turn in. 6) Thrall will tell you to seek out Rexxar, who roams from north Feralas, through Desolace, and into southern Stonetalon Mountains. 7) Rexxar will give you the quest, The Testament of Rexxar. You are to deliver Rexxar's Testament to Myranda the Hag in Western Plaguelands. Testament of Rexxar Deliver Rexxar's Testament to Myranda the Hag in the Western Plaguelands. 8) Find Myranda the Hag near Uther's tomb, south of andorhal, standing on a tree stump. 9) Myranda the Hag will give the quest, Oculus Illusions. Oculus Illusions Travel to Blackrock Spire and collect 20 Black Dragonspawn Eyes. Return to Myranda the Hag when the task is complete. Black Dragonspawn Eye: 0/20 10) Once again, you will have to raid uBRS and collect the Black Dragonspawn Eyes. They drop 1-2 at a time and are common. 11) Return to Myranda the Hag with 20 Black Dragonspawn Eyes. She will give you an Amulet of Draconic Subversion and the quest, Emberstrife. Emberstrife Travel to the Wyrmbog in Dustwallow Marsh and seek out Emberstrife's Den. Once inside, wear the Amulet of Draconic Subversion and speak with Emberstrife. 12) Travel to Emberstrife's Den in Dustwallow Marsh. It is the cave along the cliffs to the very south. The Amulet of Draconic Subversion will transform you into a Black Scalebane once inside Emberstrife's Den. While disguised, speak to Emberstrife. He will behave as an NPC. 13) Emberstrife will begin a mini-series of quests titled The Test of Skulls. The first such quest in this series is The Test of Skulls, Scryer. The Test of Skulls, Scryer You must find the blue dragonflight drake champion, Scryer, and slay him. Pry his skull from his corpse and return it to Emberstrife. You know that Scryer can be found in Winterspring. The Skull of Scryer: 0/1 14) Travel to Winterspring with a good group of five* and enter the caves of Mazthoril, south of Everlook. Work your way in, and slay Scryer. NOTE: The drake kill quests may NOT be raided! 15) Return to Emberstrife using the Amulet once again, and get the followup, The Test of Skulls, Somnus. The Test of Skulls, Somnus Destroy the drake champion of the Green Flight, Somnus . Take his skull and return it to Emberstrife. The Skull of Somnus: 0/1 16) Somnus can be found in Swamp of Sorrows, wandering in an arch up and down the zone between the Pool of Tears and the beach. 17) Return to Emberstrife as above, for the followup, The Test of Skulls, Chronalis. The Test of Skulls, Chronalis Guarding the Caverns of Time in the Tanaris Desert is Chronalis, child of Nozdormu. Destroy him and return his skull to Emberstrife. The Skull of Chronalis: 0/1 18) Travel to Tanaris. Along the east edge of the zone is a mountain. Enter the area to find two low level drakes, and finally, Chronalis, guarding the door in the back. 19) Return to Emberstrife for the followup, The Test of Skulls, Axtroz The Test of Skulls, Axtroz Travel to Grim Batol and track down Axtroz, drake champion of the Red Flight. Destroy him and take his skull. Return the skull to Emberstrife. The Skull of Axtroz: 0/1 20) Go to the Wetlands and enter the Dragonmaw Gates region, the curved valley area in the east side of the zone. Travel down the valley a ways and you will find Axtroz. 21) Return to Emberstrife to receive the followup, Ascension... Ascension... It would appear as if the charade is over. You know that the Amulet of Draconic Subversion that Myranda the Hag created for you will not function inside Blackrock Spire. Perhaps you should find Rexxar and explain your predicament. Show him the Dull Drakefire Amulet. Hopefully he will know what to do next. 22) This quest is to simply find Rexxar again. Rexxar will give you the final quest, Blood of the Black Dragon Champion. Blood of the Black Dragon Champion Travel to Blackrock Spire and slay General Drakkisath. Gather his blood and return it to Rexxar. Blood of the Black Dragon Champion: 0/1 23) Return the Blood of the Black Dragon Champion to Rexxar, and receive the Drakefire Amulet, a necklace. 24)Keep the Drakefire Amulet in your inventory to be allowed access into Onyxia's Lair when you raid! If you are looking for the first part of the quest, then you need to:
1. Goto Karagath in the BadLands 2. Goto tower near flight path @ Loc: 06,48. 3. Talk to Warlord Goretooth and let him tell you his story. 4. At the end of story, get letter from him. 5. Onyxia's Lair can not be entered without a raid party, and each member of the raid party must equip their Drakefire Amulet... the Onyxia's Lair Key. Obtaining the key is NOT a simple task, requiring the completion of a quest chain that is 16 steps long. Included in the chain is a trip to BRD, LBRS, 3 trips to UBRS, and quests to kill 4 elite dragons of Azeroth. I have outlined the quest chain below. Quests names are in bold. Questgivers are given in (parenthesis): followed by a brief description of the quest. Important notes are italicized.
---------------------------------------------------------------- 1) KILL ON SIGHT: Dark Iron Dwarves (Warlord Goretooth - Kargath): BRD to kill 15 Anvilrage Guardsmen, 10 Anvilrage Wardens and 5 Anvilrage Footmen. 2) Warlord's Command (Warlord Goretooth - Kargath): LBRS to Kill Omokk, Voone, Wyrmthalak and retrieve the documents. Take Documents to Thrall. 3) Eitrigg's Wisdom (Thrall): Speak with Eitrigg - located across the room - and report back to Thrall. 4) For The Horde! (Thrall): UBRS to kill Rend Blackhand and obtain the Head of Rend Blackhand. Take Rend's head back to Thrall. 5) What the Wind Carries (Thrall): Listen to Thrall's report and complete the quest. 6) The Champion of the Horde (Thrall): Talk to Rokaro in Shadowprey Village. 7) Mistress of Deception (Rokaro): Talk to Myrinda the Hag in western plaguelands. 8) Occulus Illusions (Myrinda the Hag): Back to UBRS and collect 20 Black Dragonspawn eyes from the dragon guards. Take the eyes back to Myranda the Hag and obtain the Emberstrife Amulet of Draconic Subversion. 9) Emberstrife (Myrinda the Hag): Equip and enable your Amulet of Draconic Subversion, then talk to Emberstrife in Dustwallow Marsh. Emberstrife will give three quests: (1) Test of Skulls, Scryer (2) Test of Skulls, Somnus (3) Test of Skulls, Chronalis. NOTE: You can complete all 3 quests before returning to Emberstrife. Recommended order: Scryer, Chronalis then Somnus. 10) Test of Skulls, Scryer (Emberstrife): Kill Scryer, Champion of the Blue Dragonflight, in the Caves of Mazorthil, Winterspring. 11) Test of Skulls, Chronalis (Emberstrife): Kill Chronalis who guards the Caverns of Time in Tanaris. 12) Test of Skulls, Somnus (Emberstrife): Kill Somnus, Champion of the Green Dragonflight, in Swamp of Sorrows. 13) (Emberstrife): Equip and enable your Amulet of Draconic Subversion, and return all three skulls to Emberstrife in Dustwallow Marsh. 14) Test of Skulls, Axtroz (Emberstrife): Kill Axtroz, Champion of the Red Dragonflight, in the Wetlands. Return the skull to Emberstrife. 15) Ascension... (Emberstrife): Equip and enable your Amulet of Draconic Subversion, then talk to Emberstrife in Dustwallow Marsh. Obtain Dulled Drakefire Amulet from Emberstrife then speak with Rokaro in Shadowprey Village. 16) Blood of the Black Dragon Champion (Rokaro): Back to UBRS one last time to slay General Drakkisath. Obtain the Blood of the Black Dragon Champion, and return it to Rokaro in Shadowprey Village. When you give Rokaro the Blood of the Black Dragon Champion, he will use it to fuse the Dulled Drakefire Amulet into the final Drakefire Amulet for you... your key to Onyxia's Lair! first off they changed it its fixed now. but they said that because outside of Ony's lair r lvl 43 mobs and 2nd i just discovered that thotbott is corect because the numbers r NOT the lvl req BUT there the lvl of the MONSTERS that are at the dungeon.
