I've been deliberating this for a while... I already have Cruel Barb in main, but the Shadowfang has a much higher DPS (17.8 vs. 15.5) and have been wondering if I should replace the Cruel barb in the unlikely event I should actually get the Shadowfang.
I have a lvl 19 Rogue twink for WSG, and I decided that Cruel barb was actually better despite the lower DPS.
In my personal opinion, it would be a total waste for any rogue to purchase SF. That's not to say for any other class it would not be worthwhile, but I think the SF is slightly overrated compared to the alternative. Just think before you fork out 30g+ for SF when this is FREE!! Wow, did I actually see MULTIPLE people suggest a rogue put a weapon with a speed over 2.5 in their offhand? That might be the dumbest thing they could possibly do. If you want to do the most damage possible as a level 19 twink you are going to have a sword main hand (so you can spam Sinister Strike with a weapon with a higher top end) and a VERY fast dagger in your offhand (preferrably with a Lifestealing enchant on it, it's really sick to look at your combat log from 1 fight and see that Lifestealing procced 3 or 4 times). If you want to spend the money I strongly recommend getting a Cruel Barb for your main hand enchanted with either +15 Agi or Crusader (I personally would go with Crusader, the weapon is slow enough that you'll have the crusader proc up 60-70% of the time and the extra 80-120 HP it can restore is never a bad thing) and an Assassin's Blade in your offhand enchanted with Lifestealing (although +15 agi is also an option). This way when you are fighting your Sinister Strikes are doing the most damage possible and you have a very fast weapon in your offhand to mess up casters. And yes, I realize that putting a sword in your main hand means you can't backstab or ambush, but really, what % of the time are you stealthed in a level 19 WSG anyway? It's all about taking people down, and higher damage Sinister Strikes and Eviscerates is the way to do it. Now I've said my piece, go ahead and tell me how stupid I am because I won't be able to sleep good at night if I think everybody on Thottbot agreed with me.

I'm sick of people saying that this is useless for hunters. NOT ALL PEOPLE WHO RUN VC STAY LEVEL 19 OKAY?! Duel wielding these on a hunter kicks ass because the attack power bonus adds to ranged AP as well. So when your group's hunter need rolls this, don't rage at him/her.
