Item isnt a ranged item. Walk up to the dragon Broodlings, I used the black ones, and use it. Dont get hit, it interupts the process. Best done with 2 or more people

It only takes 2 seconds to use the item, so just stun them and use it. Simple as that. Also, if you time it right, their little fireball thing takes like 3-4 seconds to charge.. so you can do it then too.

find a broodling dragon, click on it like u are gonna attack from a distance, once your attack sites are locked on to it, right click on the gizmo the guy gives u to get the essence. You have to get close enough to allow it to work. Once you are close enough a bar graph shows up like any spell, or calling your horse, etc. when the bar graph runs through successfully the gizmo will shoot the dragon with some firework like stuff. this will not harm the dragon but the dragon will now be encumbered in a purplish fog with circular black streaks, kill the dragon. When the dragon dies a reddish orange crystal appears where he fell. When you correctly put your sites on it, a gold gear will appear. Right click for the gear's bar graph to appear and complete its time. A loot window will then appear with a red circular item that is the essnce. click on it. now u can do a regular loot on the dead dragon as well. As a note i had no trouble for me to complete the aiming and shooting of the dragon with the gizmo. I was able to solo this quite easily except for the annoying little scorpions that kept popping up

OK, i have worked out a great way to zap since e are unable to use stuns and dont have pets. When the dragons begin to cast their fireball, zap them then, because you have enough time to pull it off without them hitting you.
Hope this helps :D ----------------------------------- Yct-53 human warrior-icecrown Morphling-15 human warlock-icecrown
Forgot to say 90,43 are the best cords. watch out for the patroling eleite dragon though

The Draco-Incarinatrix 900 acts like a gun that you can shoot at the broodling. You have to figure out the distance. You don't need to charge or stun it. You can shoot the gun before the broodling's first fire blast gets you and interrupts you. Like I said, you gotta test out the distance. But I killed all 8 broodlings this way. Didn't need to charge, etc.

This quest is a cakewalk after the 2.3 patch, and indeed the coordinates listed here are the best spawn sites for these dragons. There is a 60 Elite Giant and a rare wander around the area, so keep your eyes open if you do decide to do this quest here so you may avoid the former and nuke the latter. There are also alliance quests available that will have you killing the other dragonkin in the area, so it's advisable to get these quests before you start: They can be gotten from the quest givers next to the alliance flight point.
Personally, I detest walking in quests and I'd already done the quests at the alliance flight point. I don't like to stray far from the quest giver if at all possible and with this in mind, there are small spawns of these dragonkin around between 57,23 and 50, 25 (up on the hills to the north west of the Ruins of Thaurissan for those of you without coords). There are only six or so in total, and the spawn timer appears to be around ten minutes. Run through, kill all six and claim their essences. Go make a cup of tea, come back and finish up. It will take you about the same length of time, but any quest that leaves an opportunity to make a cup of tea and doesn't involve me running halfway across the map is just fine by me! Completed this solo as a raw lvl 50 Night Elf Hunter with cat pet. When leaving to do the quest and returning, stay to the Nth of lava valleys and avoid the large Elementals (and others of course), the ramp is at Nth side of Nth arm of the "Y".
When you hold your mouse pointer over the Quest target the areas where you can find the Welps come up as a brighter mist in 3 spots other than where the target is - bottom centre, bottom right and centre right. Had no trouble using previous instructions for gadget use but had to be carefull not to attract more than one or 2 other critters, I hate dying. Scorpids and wolves always seem to be in close proximity to each welp. Target welp, set pet/ele on welp, approach and fire gadget (I dragged to Item bar for ease of use), right click on dead body crystal and loot opened frame. Good luck, it's not that hard if you are carefull and patient. Got my 1st batches of Rune Cloth off Ogres in the area. Add Comment
