This set is very useful for my avatar, a Tauren Shaman with focus on solo play/melee.

I got the first item at around level 17, and it took me until level 21 to complete it. I have been using it ever since, to my present level of 29.

Even though I have left the Barrens, and checked frequently in the auction house, I have so far not come across an item that would justify getting rid of this set. All items so far are only marginally better when it comes to stats, and rather have the great bonuses from the set, than an extra armour or attribute point.

It took me about seven runs through the dungeon to get it (don't know the english name), of which for the last I offered the group to pass on all items, if they let me have the missing set item if it dropped.

For other classes, it might have its disadvantages. But for a shaman, it is certainly not wrong, if you are willing to go to lengths to complete it.

Its not all about the set bonuses, look at all that agility stam and strength... Any class that can use leather should use this. It's not justice to have shamans and druids only use it. Tanks and rogues have an equal right I say. a few staff skill is shit. Druids barely melee and about 75% of all druids are feral and use maces. a lil nature damage is crap too. you can AH stuff for better + spell damage if that is the reason why you have the set. Ok, here is where the shaman / druid can say no i need that more is if they have 4/5 set peices. 10 intellect is something good at that level, rogues and warriors who need the item stats not bonuses should pass / greed then. Over all, its an all class set. i don't wanna see anymore bitchen about who's it is. The only class  that can use that has no "right to need"  are hunters. Comon Hunt's you know your pet would need that set more than you. when do hunter's melee? to use Wingclip?

ok so Chibiotaku seems to be the only person who has any clue about what this set is for, this set kicks arse for feral druids and enhancement shamans  any other class that ninjas this set is just retartded. To qualitfy.. being a 'set' the set bonuses are all healing  and spell related, the only other class that this would be possibly useful for is a hunter for extra  mana gain from the intellect though you have to get 5 pieces for that bonus, and considering the the difficult drop rate of theses items its probabbly not worth it.

But either way if your a druid and you have patient  high lvl friends who don't mind sessioning instances... this is the set for you )

Someone got the correct answser at last.  This set is obviously for feral druids who also heal.  I currently am lvl 21 and have 4 of the 5, and will be working untill I get the last peice.  Sure, I took a hit in int and spirit when I equipped this gear, but I've backed this up with some great shoulderpads, a good weapon, some enchants, and I'm looking for a good ring.  The reason I justified this was because now I totally kick ass in bear or cat form, with better chances of scoring hits or crits.    As far as this set having more agility than the Blackened Defias set, you can still compliment that set with other gear that adds agility.  Anyone who says that this is a bad set needs to look at who this is for and at the bigger picture.  Rogues shouldn't roll on this set, especially if there is a druid in the group.

when i make a group for wc, i make sure that none others will need on this set, so if they start ninja on me means they have wasted my time, and that of course pisses me off

      Chance to hit
      Chance to crit
      Chance to dodge

For the poor guy(s) who never gets an answer coz you are all too busy with opinions rather than facts, the set comes from WC-(Wailing Caverns) just South-West-(ty for the correction iclaes07) of Crossroads in the Barrens.  You need to kill 'Druid of the Fang' and boses to get them, nasty caster/shapeshifters that also put you to sleep LOL -- lots of fun!

For Alliance, you can get 4 quests that I know of for WC: 2 (Smart Drinks and the 99-year-old-port quest) starting from Rachet, and 2 (Deviate Hides and Deviate Eradication) from the hidden cave just above the WC entrance. NOTE: the Smart Drinks quest actually starts with another one where you have to collect Raptor horns.

Ahuchu is my horde character; I am currently getting the set for my NE druid...I got 3 in a 3/4 run then had to camp, I will post a pic of her looking HOT in armor when I get all of them!

(I started the WC runs at lvl 15 and ended at lvl 19)  The one hand mace is the Stinging Viper which actually adds poison damage.

As far as rolling if its an upgrade roll need.  Its only lvl 19-23 gear for christs sakes.  You'll get better gear in most of the slots by the time yer 25 even lower, which doesn't take that long.  As far as rogues go screw getting the set, you'd be better off just going for the leggings of the fang which is highest agi you'll see for awhile. And taking tunic of westfall(alliance) or defias tunic (horde) and some other green stuff "of the monkey" (agi and sta).  And who ever said pally or warrior were even on a roll list is just plain retarded why would they roll on leather???
As far as hunters go, well hunters need everything anyway so who cares they will roll on anything and everything just because they are "hunters".  And no I dont have a biased opinion I play at least 1 of every class even a hunter.

To be honest, who gives a damn if it's a 'druid' set or a 'rogue' set. There are a lot of classes which can benefit from this set, and they're all just as entitled to roll for it as anyone else.

Rogues and hunters benefit from the armour and stat bonuses. Okay, the abilities aren't specifically tailored to them, but it's still some of the best armour at that level.

Druids and Shamans also benefit from it. Anyone who thinks druids don't need physical stats has never tried to level one. Nuking as a lowbie = no mana = slow levelling. Druids need to use feral abilities to level quickly, which means +strength and +agility gear is really good for them.

If you want to be sure of getting this set, just make a deal with your group before going into WC, so everything is clear.

As a druid, I played WC alot to get a hold of this set when I was down in those levels, I got the gloves cheap from AH, and then... Kinda nothing dropped for an eternity. The boots did drop, but then I already had better boots and gave up on the set.

Now a couple of hours ago I was helping a shammy and a warrior do the quests in there, and I see the leggings drop, the boots drop, and the armor.
                        All in one run. -_-

The shammy was happy though. :)

Just my personal opinion but if I'm gearing up a toon that uses leather, such as a rogue or druid I'm not only looking at set bonuses but stat buffs as well. I have a rogue with the pants from this set and several other crafted blues because compared to the defias legs these have much better agil which from everything I've read and heared is the primary stat to buff. For Feral Druids its suppose to be str and the defias set provides alot more str (15 for defias, 9 for viper) then the viper set.

In the end I guess its more about what you want more, stat buffs or set buffs. Also depends on what you plan to do with your toon. If I'm going to be a feral druid and spend more time in bear or cat then caster form I'm probably going to want the buff to str over the bonuses to spell dmg, not to mention the little extra armor you can get if you have just 2 of the defias set.

But all this is just my personal opinion. In the end I suggest researching the WoW forums and see what players suggest there.

I ran my cutie BE hunter chick through 3 times and have managed to get 4/5 pieces, so far... cuz it's leather and has nice stats no matter what leather wearing class you are... yes, I do get attacked sometimes (it kinda pi$$es them off when I start shooting at them), and the bonuses it gives me are nice, but I'm not in this to be an "ultimate killing machine"... sometimes i even get slightly lesser armor cuz the better stuff is just dog ugly... or doesn't match (cuz I'm a girl, lol)! But it's lavender and gold, people... why are male Taurens and Orcs wearing it? LMAO! It really does look gay on you guys! I saw a pic earlier of a human wearing it, i think, and he totally looked like a PRO WRESTLER!!!! It does, however, look SMOKIN' HOT on my girl, especially when she's being escorted by her purple viper. I plan on posting a screenshot when I finally get the belt...

So who really cares that this stat helps one class and that stat helps another... I have a NE druid and a BE hunter, and I'd have this armor for both... but think about it, guys... who is wearing the armor when you are farming for it???

Anacondra should spawn every time, but unlike the other three bosses she has more than one spawn point.  She can spawn in any of three corners in the first big cavern - the SE, SW, or NW corners.

So, she's generally in there - you just might have to search for her.  Having a Hunter with Detect Humanoids makes it dead easy to find her.

Well, the boots and belt have nice rogue/hunter stats, but the other three pieces have strength... which kinda helps a little, but really greens can be better.

The Defias Leather set, even though it is kinda a worse set, will help a rogue or a hunter far more.  And I mean, come one...  Purple/gold or black leather.  BLACK LEATHER.

                              Oh yeah.

I got all but the legs in one run at 20(made sure to manipulate any potential druids out of a party invite, and lie to my party in order to skip bosses I didn't care about), then went back at 22 and got legs. What can I say, I'm a perfectionist.

PVE realm with my guild's 79th level DK, must have taken 4 or 5 shots at this, after getting the gloves and chest armor the first time, and only got the belt, after just restarting it several times just for Lady Anaconda.

On my PVP realm, a coworker ran me through. Nothing dropped first time.  Second, everything but the belt dropped.  Woot.

the reason hunters want this set was removed once they changed elemental damage increase to spellpower.  the set used to be 2 counts of nature damage increase and as any Hunter knows...stings are nature damage.  as far as rogues go...the set bonus means jack it is the individual items.  all in all it is vastly superior to the defias set and any rogue should want the pieces for thier individual bonus....not set.

I have 3/5 pieces on my twink rogue just for the expertise bonus.  Pointless to go for further bonuses but then again is it worth it to carry 3/5 just for the expertise/armors stats?

3/5 pieces of the Embrace of the Viper set are excellent for a 19 PvP Rogue. The pants are by far the best in game as of 3.2, and the boots are arguably the better when compared to "Feet of the Lynx". The gloves offer higher stats and a nice Attack Power bonus rather than Stamina and a mediocre amount of Agility.

The "Gloves of the Fang", "Leggings of the Fang", and the "Footpads of the Fang" are currently the best combination of gear for a 19 PvP Rogue. Below is a graph of the three pieces and the ideal next best solution as of patch 3.2.

Gloves of the Fang* | Scouting Gloves of the Monkey
                              +6AGI              | +4AGI
                              +5STR              | +4STM

Leggings of the Fang* | Scouting Trousers of the Monkey
                              +6AGI                | +5AGI
                              +4STM                | +5AGI
                              +5STR

Footpads of the Fang* | Feet of the Lynx
                              +6AGI                | +8AGI
                              +6STM                | +3STR

                              * - 3/5 Increases Expertise Rating by 4.

This is a great rogue set, who ever says its not for a rogues is dumb. Of course if there is a shammy in the group or druid then obviously and with reason it should go to them but, only because of the se bonuses though. Its also a very nice hunter set. It give him expertise intelect and nature damage ,(useless other than serpent sting and) and spell power which is decent for the hunter abilitys.
You can find these items in the WC which is located in the Barrens.
The belt is dropped from Lady Acondra, Armour from lord Pythas or w/e, legs from lord Cohbra, gloves from any druid of the fang in Wc and the boots on last fang boss, Lord serpentis
