It actually shows in the description of this spell, but some people can't read properly, so:
Levitate applys the three following auras: Feather Fall, Hover and Water Walk. Slow Fall only applies Feather Fall. So that means that you can not walk on water with Slow Fall as you can with Levitate. I speculate that the Hover aura is just for graphic effect. water-like by Gilyn, Score 0.93

I used levitate to jump off the cliff above Darnasus.
I thought, hey; I don't want to spend all that time going down to the city, hit the teleporter, and then getting to Auburdine. What a waste of time...I know; I will use levitate and gently float down to the bottom. There I can get on a boat and go on my merry way. So I cast levitate and jump off the cliff. However; newtonian physics takes over. A body in motion will stay in motion until acted upon. So...I start to go in the direction I was going when I jumped. Forward and down, and not just down. I floated, and floated...eventually the exhaustion bar shows up. I was still in the air, so I could not turn around. I also didn't think to click off levitate, I was wondering if I could make it to shallow water. I couldn't eventually I died. My ghost turns up at the graveyard, and I start the run. On my way out, my exhaustion bar shows up again. I'm a ghost, I think; I can't die. WRONG!...MY ghost died. I took the res at the graveyard. So much for saving time with levitate.

Since nobody else has noticed, I'll point out that when you cast levitate, you actually float. Not only do your character's legs leave the ground, they bend slightly as you'd expect; you bob up and down slowly, with the legs moving as well. Kinda pretty really.

By the way, you can cast your flying mount while levitating. Great if you are stuck in a body of water surrounded by mobs, and don't want to take the hassle of running, aggro'ing the mobs, shielding, running, Psychic Scream, running, etc.
Yeah, mounting breaks Levitate, but not until after you're mounted, and then you're just flying. Also, farming level 11 moonkin near Darkshire is my favorite place. There's a village right there, so they respawn faster than you can one-shot them. Also good for farming Small Eggs* to use with everyone's favorite holiday treat: Egg Nog**. *Prices soar in December. **Only available in December, along with Gingerbread Cookies. need help by wildifre98, Score 0.70

Listen my children and you will hear, of the midnight ride of, well...me. I was in Darnassus, like so many people are these days (*cough*), and I thought, "I'm bored." Immediately, I noticed the gardens. So i went over to it, and stood on the little waterfall. As I looked to the west, I couldn't help but be overcome by an intense feeling of wonder and bewilderment. I mounted, and as I lept off into the horizon, I casted levitate. I came to a point where the map disappeared, but the water continued to stretch out into the distance.
Some theorize that this is where GM Island is located. Okay, so we all know that GM Island is in an instance now. But like any instance, there's a non-instance version of it. Like when you set old world instances to "Heroic" and walk behind the portals. GM Island wasn't always an instance, and programmers just don't delete environment from the game. Case in point, Old Ironforge and Ironforge Airport. Granted, you'd have to walk pretty far, assuming GM Island IS in that direction... Moving on, it's unreachable alone...attempted it. However, multiple priests together could do this easy. Have 5 or so in a group together so they can heal off of each other with renew and circle of healing. Another tip, wear +healing gear that has no stamina. Fatigue hits for 20% of your max health every 1-3 seconds. Low health means low damage, high healing means you can heal over it. 5 priests means you can have a few of them sit back and relax while the others cast, so not everyone wastes mana. If you are really interested in doing this, make it 4 priests and a warlock. "Harmonex wishes to summon you to GM Island." Who wouldn't accept? Summon people, summon warlocks, summon the whole server... Repeat the process on horde side, get the whole horde and alliance on one server to pack onto one small island. Condense a whole server, create intense lag, server crashes, catches on fire, Blizzard burns down, people die...and we sue the survivors since we can no longer play the game we paid for. Of course, this is all under the assumption that GM Island even exists on the main map... Re: Spell 1706 by danimalzdood, Score 0.96 Re: Spell 1706 by danimalzdood, Score 0.00

This is one of the funnest and most helpful spell a priest can learn and use. The practical and impractical uses for it is limitless (okay not really).
Here is just a few: 1) You can float on water, obviously. Although even if you do bubble while floating on water, if you take absorbed damage it WILL be canceled. Good for escaping undeads since they can't freakin swim. Pop a Swiftness potion and run like hell. 2) Slow falling off high places is almost too fun, like jumping off Darnassus or trying to get to Shatterspear Village or off Thunder Bluff, the Blackrock Mountains, and Thousand Needle places. Its also fun to cancel midway during a long fall and immediately reapply it 5 meters from the ground. 3) PVP ~ It is a life saver in Arathi basin, float down from Lumber Mill or to the Mines and turn the favor of the battle! Also if you have a mount you can jump from the ledge of Lumber Mill time it correctly at the moment of jump and float straight to an edge near the Blacksmith, occasionally you will fail. :( 4) Not to mention you can fish, eat and drink while levitating on water. This is one of my fun spells, though Mind Control > all! Re: Spell 1706 by spiked gecko, Score 1.0 Underwater? by Stupid People, Score 1.0

Levitate + afk while standing/floating over water = death
Try to avoid this. After 2 minutes you fall into the water slightly below the water's surface - so your breath bar will begin to count down. Very ugly. I learned it the hard way. Re: Spell 1706 by Centrisian, Score 1.5
In Arathi Basin if there's a speed increase boost or if you have a mount, run and jump with it then use levitate and you'll end up on Blacksmith edge. I one time took it over because the level 20 there didn't notice me and didn't respond and attack until i finished the delivering blow! Then I took it over and lived happily ever after! THE END!
This is such a cool spell, but not so useful. I got the glyph of levitating and love it. The snowfall is really nice, but I normally don't need the waterwalking effect. Mainly I use it on boats and in the AH to show off. When doing any action, you appear to be standing on an invisible floor, not floating. Overall a good spell, and the glyph is wonderful
