The first thing some of you need to do is chill a bit. There's no need for name calling when someone's opinion varies from yours.
Second, this set is a good stepping stone set. My 41 Paladin wears a few pieces I picked up while questing. While I wouldn't waste time doing run after run in SM to acquire the whole set, a few pieces stack up for a decent combination. I'm currently using the leggings for mad strength and nice stamina and the belt was an upgrade from the green I was wearing. The two add additional defense which is always nice. Also, not everyone can be "godly" at every level and are happy with mid-level items. Third, not all people like to buy items on AH or otherwise but rather like to "earn" them by finding them. I find that to be the best part of the game. But these are just my opinions. Bash away as I know some of you will. ;-)

Most everyone has missed the point of any MMORPG... you do what you want and how you want. If you wanna be a Hunter that rushes into melee, I say more power to you! If you wanted to be a freakin PRIEST and get your mace skill up and need on a nasty mace.... guess what, I'd clap for that priest as he was hitting that mob and needing on that nasty mace even with a melee class in the room... I mean seriously if you like the way this gear looks and it fits your playing style, what does it matter what stat bonuses it provides you. I play a shaman and I am considering some of the pieces and I'll tell you why, because for PVE I've found the Enh. build the most effective which would require a high STR and a High STA, I use my shocks as secondary damage to my windfury weapon. Now can I do the most damage this way? Is this the best way to play a shaman? Could any of you people out there TOTALLY own me because I have created my character differently than you? Most deffinetly yes, I am new to the game so I probably don't do as much DMG as I should, maybe my build is dumb for a shaman and yes all of you prepubescent boys of the world could own me in WoW but if you derive your self worth from a video game your parents really should have held you more as an infant...

I came on here to find out where I might find the scarlet boots and chestpiece and can't believe how much bitching there is going on. I like the guy who last posted am a shammy just turned 40 who wants to complete the set? Shoot me down! Random drops by all accounts? I would like to post, just to air some of my views about some of the players on W.O.W. Its probably the pre pubescant ones who go on about how many level 60's they've got and try and prove how knowlegable they are by dissing other group members all the time during elite quests for minor judgement errors and people who are just trying to enjoy the game. Likewise here, you come on to get a bit of helpful info and you get people posting about kicking out hunters who melee. Most of the players on this game are pretty chilled, helpful, friendly and a good laugh but there are some right knob jockeys who need a good slap in the real world. Anyway rant over any useful tips about where to find the boots or chest would be great

well appearantly most of you are missing the big picture about the warrior/hunter debate. if u look at the lvl reqs for this stuff, its low. a warrior at lvl 38 with all of it would completly own. but once he got up to 40, there are much better plate stuff. hunters on the other hand, get mail at 40, and there is much better mail armor at lvl 40 for a hunter. i have a lvl 57 pallie, and when i was lvl 38, all i wanted was this armor. then, i realized how pointless it would be for me since it has no intel and i would be getting plate soon. in all reality, this armor has horrible lvl reqs for its instance, because no lvl 38 warrior is gonna be running catherdral unless the group really trusts him, and no lvl 40 hunter would run this instance just for the armor.

this is a pretty good set because of the mail at lvl 40. there are these ppl that "enchant" weapons and armor. they can "enchant" the scarlet armor for more agility so overall its a pretty good set. and hell it looks awesome!!!!!

Im a 39 Pally who has the entire set along with Nightblade (39 Epic 2H Sword) And I pretty much own WSG in it... If it wasnt for shammies always killing my warrior i would have never had to create this monster. If you are smart and your a pally or warrior save your money and time for the Imperial Plate. However use what you got and enjoy it I know I am.

This seems like the set that all mid-Level characters that can wear, try to get. But it seems to me DUE TO IDIOTS, THOSE FREAKING MORONS WHO HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO WITH THEIR MONEY, that buy gold online. The price of the scarlet set is outragous, esp. for the Chest/legs/boots...

This set is pretty bad. Warriors get plate at 40, and green plate armor from 40-45 IS better than mail armor, don't beleive the whole "good plate doesn't come until after 45" crap. Enhancement shaman would benefit from this, but again, don't bother with the wrist armor or the the boots, since there is better stuff at 40. Hunters shouldn't really use this...

belt: scarlet defenders and myrmidons boot: most of the guys in cath chestpiece: champions gauntlets: centurions leggings: Herod wristguards: in armory some of these can be wrong or have more then that many guys but basically those people drop them. Have fun in org and if in this set! oh and herods shoulder, raging berserkers helm, ravager and seargents cloak look great with this

I have to say im a hunter and i was told to get the set by other people but after looking at its stats id also aggree that it is far better suited to a warrior or a retro pala , to all the hunters out there id say look in your AH you will be able to find something better and not much more cost

The fact of the matter is that the set is intended as warrior set. The stats are obviously suited to the warrior class and not for a paladin. However, this does not mean that a pally, shammy, or hunter couldn't wear it. Half the game is looks anyway.
I wouldn't imagine a warrior using this set much after lvl 40 when plate is availible. But just because you CAN wear plate dosn't mean you have to. If the set still offers better stats to get your class job done, keep using it. A good lesson to learn before you get up to 70 is that your gear needs to match the class spec you picked. If you're a protection or retribution paladin, this might be a great set for you! If you're holy, probably not so much. This is often true of other classes at higher levels too. If this lvl 35-39 set is better for doing the job for your shammy or hunter than the level 40+ mail armor availible, all power to you, use it. Its not about staying between lvl 35-40 forever. The reason i completed scarlet set at lvl 34 is because i wanted to solo DM. Once i hit lvl 38 i had the power to do so with full scarlet berserkers and enchanted whirlwind axe. The reason i am doing this is gold farming for plate mail. Ive been lvl 38 in dm for maybe 2 days now and im done farming. ive now made enough gold to buy full plates once i hit lvl 40. Some people like to power themselves at lower lvls some dont. Who rlly cares if you do or not. Too many people try to talk like they know whats best for other people, I SAY DOWN WITH THIS! not all people have to farm the set. Myself, whenevr my guild did SM runs and found pieces i needed they gave it to me. Having a good guild pays off. i say do what u want and if people dont like it then who rlly cares

I hate this set !!.. been farming it for quiet some time.. seen every piece drop several times:
1x Gloves 5x Belt 6x Bracers 2x Boots 1x Chest Trying to get the leggings to drop from herod but its just not dropping for me, got the following things from him so far: 7x 2h-Axe 18x Helm 22x Shoulders Also tried it on mograine a few times and got the following: 2x 2h-Mace 5x Shield So in my opinion.. The leggings are the hardest to get, allthough the droprates say it should be the easiest.. To the guy saying it drops 1 out of 6 times for sure.. Here are the facts.. Those leggings seem to be more like a myth than an actual item.. Or i am just farming the wrong mobs.. They changed the person who drops it lately??
Working on the set for my pally just to get the look, Have ran
sm about 20 times and have only had the bracers and belt drop. Cath is and easy run though, me (32 ret pally) and my brother (67 prot pally) can do cath in two pulls. I actually have been getting run through scarlet mon for 2 days, and i have every peice including herods shoulder and the helmet, except for the fricken boots and the chest. P.S. I got the hands and belt of the AH XD!!!!!
Well ... I decided to get it simply for RP reasons. My 71 Ret Pally went up to the Monasstery, and ran it solo. I can't imagine the drop rates were any different, but I got all the stuff. I had the bracers and belt haging around in my bank from ages gone by, but I got the other pieces in eight runs. I must be the luckiest SoB on the planet.
It's all out there guys ... keep trying. I want to know what that red, winged helm is in the screenshots!! That looks awesome!
This is a good set to collect and to keep before you switch to a full set of plate armor... nice stats and is a good set for any pally or warrior... also easy to get since it drops from trash mobs... so a couple of trips to the scarlet monastery and you'll have some good gear... or more loot gear...
