With the patch now Paladins CAN do very good dps. I've seen it first-hand in raids, often Paladins placing 4th through 2nd in damage and I've even seen one in 1st so far (albeit, 1st place was achieved in Stratholme, but impressive nonetheless). I encourage all Paladins to try out their damage, I've placed 4th in UBRS (vs 15 players) and 2nd in Stratholme (vs 10 players) using, true and shocking, mostly Protection talents and no set gear whatsoever.
We can dps now, and anyone who says otherwise is naive.

And the armor part, well 100agility gives you 200 extra armor. Try using armor patches instead, its gonna give you almost the same amount :P

This set is proof that there is at least one Blizzard staffer who doesn’t hate Paladins, not only are the bonuses Retribution-orientated for a change (Why other Pally sets have little or no strength and agility is a joke Blizzard shares with no-one) it leaves just enough empty slots for some interesting customisations (That belt slot just screams for an Onslaught Girdle http://www.thottbot.com/?i=40573 if you want some serious killing power and a bit of extra HP, and the possibilities for that vacant bracers slot are endless, but getting something that boosts your healing/mana pool is probably a very good idea) just don’t forget that all stats are important for us, and the better the base stat, the better Blessing of Kings gets! Some of the bonuses could be more useful (Like the Judgement of the Crusader bonus, okay, but hardly worthwhile), but overall this set totally rules for beating the crap out of your enemies!
An important point to remember that if we all kicked as much arse as Uther and the other WC3 Paladins, nobody would need warriors, don’t take the quest for more damage too far because in a party there are other classes to deal massive damage, just get stuck in with your respectable DPS and great support abilities and ignore those fools who underestimate the Retribution Spec!

I *never* said this set was for high-end instance runs, it's not balanced enough (But neither is Judgement really, no strength at all O_o which is just stupid), but for soloing, general instance runs and BG I would take it every time out of personal preference, so cool and so much more fun to get than laboring over Lawbringer and Judgement, looks better too!
And for the love of god, it's my educated opinion, not the word of law, add something worth reading or don't bother, with the right enchantments this set is great for a lot of situations and if I choose to wear this funky looking armor insted of something else that may or may not suit me and my WoW activites better, what's it to you?
The guy above me is right, I would never use this for any high-level instance. If I ever got this high in PVP the only thing I would buy is the shoulders, because they look tighter than anything else in the game. If I were actually fighting, I would have some real shoulders to use. But for chillin in IF... definitly.

i play an enchant shaman which is speeced for melee, yet ppl fail to understand that pallies and shammies are HYBRID classes thus having abilities for casting and melee and its down to the person how they spec their character....so why do you care if a pally is melee specced does it disrupt the balance in your life...NO. people play the game how they want to do and anyway people who have pvp kits which are high dps with the hybrid class also have heal bot kits as well even tho its just plain boring to hit heal heal heal heal. so have some consideration next time you see a hybird class kicking ass as they usually heal you as well in high lvl dungeons while you have fun kicking ass.

a palladin is like a warrior u need right gear and right build for the weps ur using and for the stats shamans are only the easyest class to play in the game deals much damage bit paladins are the hardest class to play and when a paladin get's good then ur the master

I do agree with you that there are no many noobs out there thinking that they are a hero when they really suck and i do agree that you need the right gear but pallys are not really like warriors.
Like Blizz says about us we are preist in armor so people think we are warriors with heals and seals. But the truth is that yeah we are presit in armor but we should not depend only on our melee, armor, seal of command (which i see most people use in movies only). Like people complain they can never kill a mage well the main reason why is cause they never use blessing of freedom to avoid being slowed or frozen. Another is when people can never kill a warlock and this is a bit cause of that they have Dev Aura up instead of Shadow Aura.
As for the seals combine your blessing and your selas for better combos like blesssing of might with seal of the crusader for more damage and faster attacks. O and in group pvp we have to think of our team first then you can do damage. If you don't agree with me then you better choose a different class now.

if you use shadow protection aura against a lock it won't help you in 90% of cases unless you have high shadow res already, because most of locks slap curse of shadow on you. some others may use curse of tonugues (they should not use this, esp. if they have felhunter) or curse of exhaustion.
Coming soon, as of Patch 1.11, this set and all of the other class PvP sets will be changed. This set will recieve a lot of +healing and mana regeneration. However, there will be absolutely NO agility on any of the pieces anymore. Most of the previous strength and +crit. bonuses are still there though. All in all, this set is a very good set for healing in MC and such although it lacks both the FR and small amount of spirit that we paladins need both of which are on the LB set. The amount of healing is about the same, but the mana regeneration is larger than that of the LB set by about 15-20 m/s. Pretty good upgrade in my opinion.
The new armor is nice enough with the added Healing. The drop in agility will nerf your crit% and the amount of damage you do so you won't see an increase in DPS. Note remember in PVP if we don't crit we will die. Sure you can destroy noobs but you will get owned if you don't crit. So I highly suggest you add agility enchants to all these Items as well as get the cloak from AB exhaulted get all the agility and crit% you can find and then you will own. Best of luck pallies.
Apart from mana pool boost you will also get around +130 spell damage which is much better than crap agility and even close to Judgement Set, but has more strength.
Sad part is that they nerfed stamina like -25 in total set :(

You can try to make up the crit loss by having most of your pieces enchanted with agillty, but that doesn't work if you allready had those enchants :D
The armor bonus is o.k.... but not of much importance. The change from spirit to mana /5 sec is nice.
The loss of 330 hp and the 2,45% crit is what hurts the most. +129 spelldamage is nice, but only about 50% of this damage is given to SoC and JoC.
So, higher crits, but less often, enjoy, we're back to the pre 1.9 paladin ^^
You seem to like the rather crappy old PvP set since you made the massive improvements to this set sound mediocre or ignored them entirely in your evaluation.
You point out the 330 hp loss which while bad is far outweighed by what you did not mention in your summary evaluation, the gain of 1275 mana. This is again seen by you pointing out the loss of 2.45% crit due to agility loss but neglected to mention that paladins need around 20 int/spell crit which means we gain around 4% spell crit bonus in addition to the much healthier mana pool. The spirit to mana regen isn't just a nice change, 22 mana regen is more than 10 spirit provides. You also point out the 129 spell dmg but again neglect that it affects healing as well, not to mention the fact that the roughly 65 extra dmg/command is going to out damage the loss of 2.45% melee crit.
All in all it seems you dislike this set due to a small loss of hp and a couple crit % dispite the massive improvements made to the set.

The Pvp set might look all that balanced and great, but the fact that i have noticed is that pallies in PvP are lacking some stamina to survive, this is my opinion, some people think a balance of str and stam. for the Field Marshal's Aegis set is ok. However, the fact that we are a survival class should enable us to have more stamina than just a balance of str, stam and intel. It is a good PvP set, but i think blizzard should add a bit more stamina to the Paladins Field Marshal's Aegis gear.

ok first of all this set is no easy thing to get alright? it takes months of grinding AB till your eyes explode..most people burn their rank at commander because it is way to hard to get marshal..it takes a month of solid all day grinding to get marshal and field marshal..another thing is you cannot just go into random battle grounds and start pvping on your own..you will never get that high that way..youu need a group the forms every day..(possibly a guild group) that sets caps and organizes pvp.
again this is really hard to get and requires you to have alot of time on your hands...some people even get some one else to play their account for them..but as of 1.12 honor decays at 10% per kill rather then the old 30% so you can reach this by playing on your own time..it will just take alot lonhger.
paladins can be what ever they want in pvp..i personally do whatever the citaution calls for healing if im with a couple wars and dps if im on my own or with a caster.
i understand that end game raiding job is to heal, but this set emphasizes damage if u wanna heal this is not the set for u. personally i usually dont heal people, not cause im a noob, but because most people just arent worth the mana, especially with the new rp realms on my bg list, prioritize heals. this set is specifically emphasized for just u not groups cause in groups u heal, this is a definate hybrid damage set.
The answer is yes. If you were at one time a field marshal you may forevermore use the armor you purchased at that rank.
If you are currently in a guild running aq40 and have bwl on farm, it really isn't worth the grind for this set as Judgement, which is seen as a sidegrade to the FM set, should be fairly easy to attain if you have bwl on farm or close to it. If you have pieces of the AQ tier 2.5 set (Avenger's), the FM set isn't worth the grind at all as Avengers and 3 pieces you can mix and match to your preference blows away the FM set for both pvp and raiding.
The pvp sets and weapons are now a good way to backup gear you never could round out due to horrid drop rates/DKP/raid retirement. We rarely do BWL and I only have 4 judgement and 1 Avenger's, and as one of our two Strike pallies I need to supplement my DPS gear. I use these and the chest now, and with my other gear I've now got just a tad over 5k health and 5k mana, fully raid buffed 1300 AP and an Ashkandi, I actually do well on a damage meter.

Because Seal of Command is better for burst damage by far..I can get 1500-1800 judgement critical(my record is 2200 so far) and if crusader strike, seal of command procs at the same time, I can tell u that is hell for the opponent :)
My record is 2800 crusader strike and my seal of command around 2100 so far and with judgement and consecration make alot of dps..
Seal of Command is better for burst damage during PVP, when you want to do a large, sudden amount of damage to catch the opponent off guard. However, it also works against you when sometimes you'll be swinging 4-6 times and SoCom won't proc once.
Seal of Righteousness is better by far for PVE, since it does consistent damage and benefits from spell damage. JoCrus + SoR + lots of spell damage = very nice, large, consistent yellow damage. It's also less exciting, because you'll be missing out on the fun of doing large crits from SoCom, or having SoCom proccing several times in a row, but it is more reliable.
A Paladin can kill an opponent under the 6 seconds of HoJ.
But that requires all of his attacks to crit,and then we're talking about Vengance,SoC,JoC,Crusader Strike and of course the white damage at the same time.
If your opponent isn't dead yet but is utterly destroyed by your burst damage,you can add up with Repetance and wait for your Crusader Strike and Judgement to end their cooldown.
Though,the last thing only applies when battling 1 vs 1.
Not to mention you can use your shield whenever things go bad.........

This set is pretty decent i recomend it for ret pallys, I am a ret pally and even though i dont use the set any more i was a ret pally with it and it is great for ret sence they are DPS, DPS is great for pallys now.
