quite good for a shaman for 2 reasons. it procs on all 3 targets when using chainheal, and shamans tend to use rank 1 HW for the healing way buff, so spamming it does build up the buff quickly.
Dropped for us off of the Big Bad Wolf in Kaz. At first glance it looks confussing as to its nature so allow me to clear it up.
When cast on a person it adds 20 healing from all sources...(would like to test bandaids) in a 5 man thats 1 healer so its probably not the best place to use it... in a 10 man thats up-to 4 healers which makes it look a little better, but where it shines is in 25 mans with many many healers and a single MT swallowing alot of damage.
After the first application the caster has 10 seconds to cast another heal or the affect fades away, but if you drop another heal on the affected it not only renews the 10second buff but doubles it to 40 from all sources... after that you have another 10 seconds to drop another heal to renew the timer and tack on an extra 20 healing bringing the sum up to 60 and you can do this another 2 times until all healing from all sources is increased by 100 for 10 seconds. With a little bit of timing in all practacality this little sucker can go for 30 seconds or much more, and its only a 2 minute cooldown.
Raiding healing trinket that has massive amounts of power ~if used well~. I would recomend a priest who favors greater heals or a paladin who favors holy light due to the longer cast times to keep the buff alive longer.
You're a little off on your recommended usage for this. For a paladin, using Flash of Light would work better, it is a faster cast and allows it to stack quicker. Also interesting to note, you can use this at the same time as Scrolls of Blinding Light, which means the effect can stack up really quick.
A holy paladin with Scrolls of Blinding Light can have this procced 5 times in about 6 seconds...if that paladin keeps spamming flash of light the buff will stay active and you can essentially have it maxed for 24sec.
Yeah, even though this jewel only stacks 5 times, you renew the total stack every time after the 5th stack until the use time of 20 seconds has run out. So the faster you stack this on your people, the longer you get a higher bonus added.
Hit use
*1.5 sec cast - +20 stack 10 sec duraction - 1.5 secs used
*1.5 sec cast - +40 stack renewed to 10 sec dur - ~3 sec used
*1.5 sec cast - +60 stack renewed to 10 sec dur - ~4.5 sec used
*1.5 sec cast - +80 stack renewed to 10 sec dur - ~6 sec used
*1.5 sec cast - +100 stack renewed to 10 sec dur - ~7.5 sec used
*1.5 sec cast - +100 stack renewed to 10 sec dur - ~9 sec used
-> and so forth until you hit your 20 second use time, at which the buff finally wears off. So the faster you apply the charges the longer everyone else has to heal your target at a higher level of buff.
Looting this one yesterday and discussing with my fellow druid raider (priest was still on trial) I decided to pick this one because our druid thought its only on direct heals as said.
The most noticable 'feature' this trinket has, is its proc. Next to being a nice rejuv animation on your target it also procs on every jump of my chain heal. Yes ! its brilliant on close tank healing or rogue stuff. Timing it right increases its use even more.
Picked this baby up. FYI, it'll proc off of rank 1 healing touches and probably other lower rank spells, in case you just want to stack it up on the main tank without burning mana.
Works on Prayer and circle of healing putting the buff on everyone who gets healed by the spell.
It's really a raid trinket as it offers very very little for a 5 man or even 10 man encounter but it's an extra blessing of light on a tank in 25.
Also it needs to be stacked up fast which means that it's probably better in the hands of a lolladin Flash of Light spamming.
fe·cun·di·ty
1. the quality of being fecund; capacity, esp. in female animals, of producing young in great numbers.
2. fruitfulness or fertility, as of the earth.
3. the capacity of abundant production: fecundity of imagination.
when you pop trinket you have 20sec to mark multiple targets with your heals.
for example paladin pop trinket and flash heal 3-4target and continue healing to these targets renew time for buff on target and gives +20heal up to 5 times right?
so it's not that bad trinket after all when it can be placed multiple targets by aoe atleast.
priest aoe = mark 5 target , then just flash heal to upgrade it and after ~35sec your healer get +100 heal to tanks wich mean in 25man instance like +100x6 = 600 on single target.
But can it be added on multiple targets on first 20sec when you pop trinket? if it's that way it's more than imba on paladin hands
If you equip this you will become a worse healer (lots of better trinket choices), but you make everyone else a little stronger. I know that this would have been a godsend back in the old 40-man tank and spank raids, but does anyone even use this to great effect in 25-man?
Also, who cares if you can holy nova spam your whole party to give them the buff. How many times are they going to get non-holy nova healed in the next 20 seconds and would the extra healing on subsequent holy novas even make it a better group heal than prayer of healing?
This dropped for me (40 holy/21 disc priest) last night after a Oz fight, and it's definitely a raid trink. Don't bother putting it on anywhere you have less than 3 healers, as an above poster said its purpose is not to make you personally a stronger healer but to make the raid at a whole better at healing. Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to use it much, as we stopped for the night after the Curator.
The best use as a priest that I've come up with is to activate it and then spam level 1 flash heals on your tank in a boss fight to fully stack the effect. That would only cost around 600 mana, and a +100 bonus to all healing buff on a raid tank is fantastic.
When you have it time it right you can get about 30 seconds of bonus, and the 2 minute cooldown means you'll be able to use the trinket multiple times on a boss fight. Seems like it would really shine with several healers all using it in rotation, plausible in 20 to 40 mans.
Only stacks on the buff when u cast regrowth or Healing touch. Would recommend using low rank if u must use it to get the buff stacked quick.
You only get 20sec to stack on the buff and it only last for 10 sec after last direct heal. The max time u could have the target buffed is 30sec.
Much better for Pally Priest or Shaman
would it work if you used tranquility? not the ideal spell to use but i'm just curious.
This is not entirely accurate. It actually procs for healing touch, regrowth, the bloom of lifebloom and swiftmend. So in ToL you could do something like
(0)regrowth->(1.5)lifebloom->(3)rejuv->(8.5)lifebloom->(14)swiftmend->
->(15.5)regrowth
where timings are shown in brackets and given in seconds.
However, this would clearly suit other classes really well. I just wanted to make the point that this trinket can be utilised by druids in ToL form not to mention the fact that it has very nice +healing.
it works with circle of healing so you could stack this on two different groups at once.
combine with that the other healers group heals and you will have a good time with this trinket.
I've done some playing around with his. I've found that using flash of light to stack the buff, there are ten seconds left when the fifth stack is applied, meaning that the full +100 stack will last for 20 seconds (10 seconds until the buff fades and then 10 seconds more). This means that each time I apply this, the healing bonus on my target will be:
+20 for 1.5 seconds
+40 for 1.5 seconds
+60 for 1.5 seconds
+80 for 1.5 seconds
+100 for 20 seconds
0 for the remaining 94 seconds out of every 2 minutes.
This works out to an average of +19.16 to healing, per person. If I wasn't using this I'd be using my trinket that gives +70 healing just to me, so in order for the ribbon to be worth it there needs to be 4 or more healers also healing my target (4x19.16 = 76.64 total bonus healing).
Once this item gets upgraded in the patch, in addition to the MP5, the fact that it gives +30 healing per application will raise its average healing bonus to +28.75, meaning there needs to be only 3 healers on a target to make it more useful than a standard +70 healing trinket.
i dont care how efficient it is, imo its still more for gruul/mag and the eye...nothing else is really worth tossin out the healing
Screw the heal bonus. I'd take it for the MP5.
This post is faded because it has a negative score.
Hmm too bad the shit hits the fan, got +70 healing instead of 11 mp5... (wich is a bit too low anyway)
for 25 man mt healing, good
for kara avarage
for all 5 mans totally useles (use your prayerbook)
This is a bit nice. Let me explain why:
As already mentioned, it gives a bonus to healing from everyone, that's including SPs. You can apply this buff as a shaman using chain heal (or as anyone with grp heals) to pretty much the whole raid, which cannot be sniffed at. Also, use your r1 healing wave (or class equivalent) to stack up the buff 5 times in about 6 secs then do some heals, which will keep the buff stacked for ya. Granted, in 10 men instances you're only gonna be having around 4 people healing the tank, max-- dru's hots, maybe 2x healers sharing the duty, and mebbe an SP in the tank's group. But even with a maximum of 4 healers, that gives a hell of a lot of extra healing. The 5 stack bonus is 150 healing (I know it says 5x20, but hover over the buff and you'll get 150). Now, multiply that 150 by 4? That's 600 extra healing OVER 20 SECS! Guys, come on... this is crazy, even if just 2 people are giving heals to the tank.
wiehoe, its the shit, forget book, forget scarab, really

I didn't see it explicitly stated anywhere on the page. What type of heal is not covered by this? Is that things like Prayer of Mending, priest's Vampiric Embrace, things like that?
HoTs do not stack the buff, but still benefit from the +healing if the buff is already on the target.
For pallys:
Will the buff stack on Judgement of Light?
Will the buff stack on Seal of Light?
it works with PoM, even better it works with shammy chainheals
This trinket blows. Unless you're upgrading from something like dual Lower City Prayerbooks, it's like the Vendorstrike from MC all over again.

From a Holy Priest's perspective:
If you try to stack this trinket for the sake of stacking it, you'll be wasting your mana (see reasoning below if you're interested as to why).
If you add it in your regular heal rotation whenever the cooldown is up, you'll therefore use it to its fullest. So *don't* rank 1 flash heal spam (or similar); *do* use it on the main tank to give every healer on that tank a static ~+25 heals.
For 4 healers on the tank, this is a trinket with ~170 +heal to raid on it. Think it's worth it now?
First off, rank 1 spamming when you otherwise wouldn't cast anything is a horrendous waste of regen time with this trinket, and here's why:
To compare regen vs. the +heals from this trinket, I'll convert them both into effective healing done over 1 minute.
This trinket adds the following +heals on a single target, if spell casts are *exactly* 2.5 seconds. Note that using 1.5 second spells is only 13% more effective (math not shown). This also assumes you cast a spell at the very last instant, to refresh the buff duration.
0 to 2.5 seconds: +0
2.5 to 5: +30
5 to 7.5: +60
7.5 to 10: +90
10 to 12.5: +120
12.5 to 30: +150
30 to 120: +0
Average +heal on target: from basic Calculus, average +heal would be the integral of +heals with respect to time, divided by the change in time, or [2.5*(30+60+90+120) + 150*(30-12.5)] heals*sec/(120 sec) = +28.125 [31.875 with 1.5 second spam].
Assuming 4 healers chain cast heal spells, this will give +28.125 healing done / 3.5 seconds (according to Blizzard's formula; not including talents), or ~482.14 healing done / minute, per healer. Using 4 healers, this trinket would give at the most [and this is *very* generous] 1928.57 extra healing done to the main tank, per minute.
What about regen?
I'll assume 1 mana ~~ 6 healing done [that's slighty less than the efficiency of my greater heal]. So, to equal the 1928.57 healing done from the trinket's "use" effect, you'd need 321.43 mana instead.
I can get 321.43 mana from less than 2 regen ticks with raid buffs. If you use even a single, unnecessary heal just to get this stacked, it almost certainly becomes useless.
If the extra heal costs more than 321.43 mana, you're wasting your mana. If the extra heal causes you to break even 2 ticks of regen, you're almost certainly wasting your mana (as a priest [or druid]). Note: for Paladins, this point is much less important; however, 3 unnecessary FoL's would make this trinket useless.
Little tip for priests. Use Binding Heal when you first cast this on your target. Gives the stackable healing increase to you and the target as well :)
This trinket works great for the later growths in the gruul fight. It would obviously be great for any similar fight where the MT needs a little extra healing.
Got it off BBW yesterday, I had two Lower City Prayarbooks, I won it and I was content. I know it doesnt have many uses in 10 mans, but hey, its epic, and it has an extra 3 healing. Plus both prayarbooks count as one cooldown so the extra prayarbook was just there or the healing.
Just got this today with my Restoration Shaman. For those tat are curious, Chain Heal will apply the buff to ALL 3 targets that are affected with the chain heal.
This trinket may be cute and all, but I'm afraid, from what I saw personally, that it may not be the best for a holy pally. Since it actually removes blessing of light from the affected target to put the healing buff :/. I like way more my +120 heal to flash and +380 to holy light than a group wide +100, especially when there are other holy pallies healing that one target
Edit : well, my bad, 150, since it's 30 not 20 :p. Still prefer blessing
It's a situational trinket but works very well for those occasions.
For Holy Priests, CoH and this trinket are a good combination in situations where AoE heals are needed. (Hex and Zul'Jin in Z'A for example)
Can anyone confirm this is true?
RESTO DRUIDS
this trinket only works when you cast regrowth..not rejuvination or lifebloom
and you have to recast regrowth 5 times to get the full effect of the trinket..in other words this isnt the best trinket for a resto druid
granted, this trinket is the worst for trees, the proper spell rotation to stack this most effectively i believe would be....
rejuv.... lifebloom... proc trinket... swiftmend... regrowth... bloom... lifebloom.... rejuv.... bloom... swiftmend.... (NOT 5x REGROWTH LOL)
you would get the 5 stack +30 healing bonus on one target after about 16 seconds
likewise, you could attempt to stack the buff on two targets, a bit less succesfully....
i will use 1 and 2 for each target
rejuv1, lifebloom1, lifebloom2, proc trinket, swiftmend1, regrowth1, regrowth2, bloom1, bloom2 lifebloom1, lifebloom2, rejuv1, rejuv2, bloom1, bloom2, swiftmend2
you would get 2 targets with 4 stack +30 healing with little or no time for error
NOTE: this +30 healing bonus does proc from tranquility's "ticks", so if i my examples didn't reflect a conservative attitude the spell rotation to stack this the best would be something like...
lifebloom1, lifebloom2, lifebloom3, proc trinket... tranquility... lifebloom4, lifebloom5
you could get a whole group to 5 stacks with minimal or no utility, woot! however, outside of simply stacking the trinkets buff the fastest, proc'n this b4 tranquility would be about the only time a druid could utilize this trinkets "use" (this still sucks, b/c you have a 2 minute cooldown to amplify a 10 minute cooldown)
FINALLY....
trees maximize healing by "rolling" lifeblooms, so allowing a lifebloom to bloom just to "boost raid healing" seems extremely counterproductive
QQ's about trinkets that suck for trees, this trinket rocks for chain heals
