The best place to farm these and about the only place to farm these are in BRS, Scholo, and Strat off the blues. And probably the only way you'll be able to farm these effectively is in guild runs when they give you the blues to disenchant and let you keep the shards.

THe easiest way I've found to farm these is in DM EAST. Go down the back hallway into East and you'll come out on the top lvl infront of some of the little plant dudes. I just run off the top to the bottom and everything drops aggro. Then I just walk down the hall to my right and kill the Hydrospawn boss. As a 66 hunter its relativly easy to farm...Im BM specced and just spam heals on my pet. I've gotten just about every book from DM and made lots of gold just off those. He also has a chance to drop essence of water which goes for around 10g on my server. Burning Blade server.

I`ve gotten a fair share of theese by soloing parts of BRD. As a 70 hunter its very doable to just sneak past everything to get 4-5 bosses including the arena event.
In a good day i got about 30 small ones and 18 large ones. The pyromancer (the one standing in front of a certain statue above the arena) also has a chance of dropping the Fiery Weapon formula , wich sells for about 50g on my server nowadays.

On my server large brilliant shards go for about 20 gold each. I'm a feral druid with high enchanting, my way of farming it is like this:
Do BRD, stealth-run to Bael'gar and kill him. Then go open the lock and run to angelforge or what his name is. then go to the bar and destroy kegs and kill that boss, then buy beer and let the dwarf destroy kegs, kill phalanx and stealthrun off. After u kill the naga boss ( can't remember his name) u stealth off to the seven dwarves. After that it's fast back to the fire elemental which you can jump to from outside the bar. Get naked and jump down in the lava, corpserun back and reset instance. Rinse and repeat :D All in all that's 8 large brilliant shards, and I do that in 25-30 minutes if I concentrate. So per hour that's 16 shards which will land me with over 300 gold per hour! This is by far the best way of farming money I've found out so far in the burning crusade. That is, if the prices on large brilliants are high :)

The Best way to farm these are as follows: Make a team, yourself the enchanter and a letherworker/skinner. Have the lw make lots of wicked leather headbands(easy to make, farm epl for leather) and you de them, you get eternal essences and these shards from them. Turn about and hour of time grinding for leather into about 100g easily. If you want to sell them, don't flood the market, just put a couple up at a time, I generally put them up for 10g a piece. Best farming place for Pala is a DM east. Depend of drops you have from 3 to 7 in 1 raid. Its takes only 12 min to complete all bosses if you know how to move to avoid trashes fight. My set +802 spell dmg, 9,8k mana, 13k armor, 31 % crit. At last boss probably you will need mana potion (can be from BG marks), this depends how many crit you will have and how much boss resist. In my server TH shards are going 9-12 g each. BUT after patch 2.2.0 will be the end of easy money. +agi formulas and other from AQ 20 we can buy at TBC vendors. Mats for this enchants blizz will transform to TBC standards so .... end of 200 g per hour from this shards.

I farm them with my 70 druid in Stratholm, i enter UD side go straight left and look for Heartsinger forester and the Unforgiven.
Kill them, disenchant run out and reset. Makes about 10 shards in 30 minutes pretty easy and fast to make some gold. Re: Large Brilliant Shard by droodplaya, Score -0.17
As a level 70 Hunter BM SPec'D, I've found that
BlackRock Depths is a great place for farming these shards. -Before you start farming here, you definately need to get the key to open locked doors to get a lot more shards!! - Start off By making your first Left, follow pathway til u can either go left or right, go left. 1st Boss (bael'Gar)..kill him..turn around follow that pathway up to 2nd boss Lord Incendious..kill him..continue up that pathway [towards fineous darkvire...i skip him seeing how his blues drop small brilliants. -Once you've gotten past this area you should be on the 2nd floor, @ the first room on the left [the vault?], there are some rare bosses for you 3rd/4th boss [some guy and his dog, has potential for either 0-2 large brill, @ minimum u get 1 small brill]. - Make your way to the Ring of Law, start battle, there you have the potential to get either a small or large brill, just depends on what boss spawns 5th boss. - From Ring of Law [ a new door should open, taking you to shadowforge lock, the big looking cog thing]Open it! Go back up stairs from which u came and make ur way to the left. You'll go across a narrow hallway and enter a room. - ON the left side of the room is General Angerforge [6th boss], hes down the stairs,kill him, turn around head up the stairs, down the hallway straight to Golem Lord Argelmach. [7th boss] leave his chamber and head east. -This should take you to the bar [all neutrals] talk to Plugger Spazzring [buy 6 dark iron ale], turn around and talk to guy right behind him, give him 6 ale. He will open door for you, Now a big Sphinx thingie will be blocking the door, [8th boss] fight him for the shard and continued pathway. -ONce out of the tavern head down the stairs and make ur first left following this to Ambassador Flamelash. [9th boss] - Exit to this room to the left and look for Panzer the Invisible [10th boss, rare spawn] if hes there fight him, if not, just turn around and head towards the tavern. [optional, some people may want to continue to the summoner's tomb, for more, but i personally cannot stand it, takes too long to kill everyone, so i skip] -Once in the tavern talk to Plugger Spazzring again, by now, he should have the limited item "pattern: Black DragonScale breatplate" [heh for some extra cash, they for some nice Gold] -Leave Instance and Reset. Have Fun So thats approx 10 Large Brilliants in 1 run!! This is all from memory so forgive me if im wrong on something =]

Just picked up Tooth of Eranikus out of sunkin temple fifgting main bosses past the dragon kin and its a 100% chance 4 a large brilliant shard when disenchanted. Thought this might help some

Go to BRD- kill Lord Pyron, do the arena event, and kill the Pyromancer. All three have a good chance of dropping a blue item that will DE into a large brilliant shard. Took me 3 runs to get the mats I needed for my runed fel iron rod.

Large Brilliant Shards go for 3-4g on my server now. All of a sudden, within 1-2days, there were several hundreds, if not over 1000, of them on AH. I smell goldfarmers....
Btw, the Q: "And Now, the Moment of Truth" rewards Brilliant Mana Oil or Brilliant Wizard Oil. But it says its a horde Q? Not a simmilar Q for alliance? Alliance still need ZG rep to make 'em? On my server this go for 20g each, im saving for epic flying skill thats 5kg.
so if each run in brd gives 10shards im planning on doing this 25 times, shouldent take long hopefully, better then farming primals or doing dailys.
the reason why the price for the shards has fallen so much is because there so easy to get your hands on im a prot pally and i can do so many large pulls in places like strat i get so many blues from it i got to say its like liquid gold but the disadvantage is i am not a enchanter so i cant De all the blues but this maybe a good reason why people are starting to put them so low trying to compete with people selling off the shards
For months after the release of WOTLK, I couldn't give these things away, but in the last couple of weeks, Large Brilliant Shards (along with Void Crystals and Large Prismatic Shards) have actually been selling. Anyone have an idea why?
