stone is up around frostsabre rock @ 49,10 ish

Just did this as a 57 fury warrior with 55 holy / disc priest. Pull Shy back from her spawn point out onto the frozen pond opposite the rock and her mate won't add.

I used a Mechanical Yeti charge to help with the DPS.

ooo and the coordinates where to summon the cat is 49,10 around that on a stone but you need sacred meat from 1 of the tigers around that first doesnt takes long for that to drop

As two lvl 55 hunters, we just kited him to Everlook where there guards finished him off.

We did it like this:

1: Cleared the path to the road.

2: One of us placed the sacred meat at the stone, the other standing at the edge of the frozen lake.

3: Shy-Rotam spawned, the hunter at the edge of the lake ( in this case me) grabbed the aggro with a Distracting Shot.

4: Kited him down the road to Everlook, where the guards made a short process of him.

We also tried to use our pets as tanks, and just DPS him to death, but fearing and and alot of misses made it impossible.

Cannot find the meat. Anybody else hav this problem??

The proper way to do this quest:
1)Find a decent group
2)go to 49,10
3)Keep killing Frostsaber Huntresse's and Frostsaber Pride Watcher's until one of them drops the Sacred Frostsaber Meat(http://thottbot.com/?i=17123). The drop rate is actually low: 1.8 and 1.9%
4)The one who looted the meat should place it at the stone(49,10)
5)Shy-rotam and his add will appear, kill them
6)Go to Everlook and finish the quest.

The drop rate isnt that low cus ppl cant  get the meat item if they arent on the quest, but they can still kill tigers, so the drop rate is more like 5-7%. just that yu know and doesnt think its VERY rare :P

If you pull Shy-Rotam out into the frozen lake that's in front of the pillar, the second elite won't spawn when she calls for him.  Makes this fight half as long/hard.

Did it with a 57 Lock and a 61 priest.  Just keep her feared the entire time.

You can find Shy-Rotam at 49,9 - He's a level 60 NON ELITE!

To summon him you'll need to kill a nearby Frostsaber to get it's meat, I got this with my first kill.

When you have the meat just place it on the stone at 49,9 and a big level 60 saber will pop out at you!  He uses fear lots so be prepared!

Soloed as a 57 Druid.

As far as the meat is concerned look for any FROSTSABER STAKERS that are lvl 60, seems they drop the sacred meat more often.

Well i was confused and tried to lay down the [Tiger meat] which i had alot of.  But you must kill the lvl 59-60 frostsabers and they will drop [Sacred Frostsaber Meat] which you place on the stone, Kill Shy-Rotam, BUT another cat spawns to help her so watch out,

i did this quest easily with a level 55 hunter with some decent gear. when you put down the meat run towards the indent in the big rock thing then when she uses the fear type attack you avoid aggro from the other frostsabers in the area if you havent already killed them.

Near as I can figure, you should bet on killing at least 15, as the drop rate is very very poor.
(i've whacked 23 atm, and still no drop.)

Edit: 43 Huntresses killed, finally the meat dropped. I almost went on a rampage of killing everything I see, including my reflection of myself in the moniter...

Took me two tries as a 55 BM hunter, coordinates are about 50,12; or if you don't have coords, the very entrance to frostsaber rock.

GETTING THE MEAT: First, I just ran around killing all sorts of sabers until the meat dropped. I think it took about 12 kills.

THE ACTUAL FIGHT: Make sure you have your insignia of the alliance on you. Basically, let your pet keep aggro and sit back and shoot. When he turns to you, have a frost trap ready to slow him down. When he fears you, use your insignia of the alliance to cast it off you. Make sure to use BW and rapid fire to add DPS. I got killed the first time because I didn't check this page first, so when her lv 60 mate appeared (same move set, prepare for fears from him too) I wasn't ready.

HOW TO DEAL WITH HER MATE APPEARING: If you die, don't worry, you don't need more meat, they will still be there when you get back. Use the same strategy in fighting her as I previously stated. When her mate appears, he will immediately go for you. Freeze him in an ice trap and rip apart the main target with your highest DPS spells. Once he breaks out, have a concussive shot ready. Slow him down long enough to have time to feign death and draw aggro off yourself. Wait 5 more seconds and your ice trap should be back. Freeze him again, then continue to DPS mate. Once she's dead, just run, he doesn't give any good drops and you don't need to kill him.

GOOD LUCK

The drop you need is called Sacred Frostsaber Meat, not the "tiger meat" that almost all the cats drop. You only need (and may only get) one.

I solo'd this as an enhance 57 shaman. I did not die.

Place the Sacred Meat on the platform at the rock. She will appear immediately. Pull her out to the frozen lake/pond.  I did not get the add doing it this way (no adds showed). She is a level 60 non-elite.

ROFL, I was killing a frostsaber huntress, and the epic Skullflame shield dropped for me.

I'm not sure what the story is about the other cats but the Stalkers were the first to attack, so my 57 mage ended up killing 4 of them and the fourth one dropped Shy's lunch.

I killed a few of the others around the "altar" and then (following the instructions above) pulled her away from the altar to the other end of the frozen pond. She feared me twice, which was annoying but not fatal; I basically just kept hitting her with short shots (Fire Blast & Arcane Explosion) so I wouldn't have a longer spell interrupted by fear. Not exactly mana-efficient but it worked. Except for the fear, she didn't seem to have any other tricks.

Never saw her mate, so I believe the strategy of kiting her from the altar probably works.

Serious XP. 11,500 or in that neighborhood. Not hard and worth doing. The toughest part was dealing with the stealthed Stalkers on the way in. Human "Perception," by the way, was useless. It didn't spot a single stalker.

Ok guys this is how u do this quest step by step

1.You have to kill the Tigers around 41,10 and wait for [Sacred Frostsaber Meat] to drop.

2.You now go to the stone under the bridge with the 2 flames that are on its right and left.

3.Place the [Sacred Frostsaber Meat] on the stone and await for Shy-Rotam to come.

4.Then just kill him and you have down the quest

Note: He is no longer and Elite.

I finished the quest sometime ago.  I'm a level 62 BM hunter.  But, I decided the lion, Sian-Rotam, just had to be mine.  So, I found a friend who had not done the quest chain yet.  We did the first 2 quests to get to the Shy-Rotam quest, farmed for the Frostsaber sacred meat, which took forever, and we started the quest. Soon, things went terribly awry.  I abandoned my pet too soon, we had no healer (my friend is a level 53 Rogue), and we took too long to kill Shy-Rotam.  Sian was summoned by her mate, and they both feared me.  I set my trap and started to tame Sian when Shy died but just as the trap expired i was feared again.  By then my hit points were too low and my mana was non-existent. We abandoned the quest and tried again.  It took a few more tries, many traps, and a feign death to get this beautiful animal but it is now tamed!!!  It was difficult but worth it.  The message here is: don't give up, it can be done even when you have a lot of trouble doing it.

First off, finding Shy-Rotam wasn't a problem. I killed maybe twenty tigers and found the sacred meat. After I summoned her (note: the place to summon her is right under neath the giant stone jutting out of the ground), I quickly had her down to half health. Then she summoned her mate. I had about three seconds to attack between the constant fearings. Here is how the fight went.
>Fear: 5 seconds.
>Attack for 2 seconds (you stop attacking after being feared, apparently)
>Repeat previous steps a dozen or so times
>Fear for five seconds. While feared, run into two other enemies.
>Slay Shy-Rotam, but get killed by her mate.
>Resurrect to extract revenge from the lion.

Verdict: Very difficult to solo as a 58 Paladin.

meat dropped of a pide watcher after 10 mins of killing

Now the quest is fairly easy for a lvl 70 hunter.  I tame a new trash pet near the rock, and hunt for the meat, I guess that you can only get one at a time/quest effort.

I am not interested in Shy, I want to tame the mate, Sian. The problem that I am having is with the roar/fear thing. I and the trash pet fight Shy till Sian shows up, then I finish off Shy and  abandon the trash pet.

Then I try to tame Sian. He pulls off that fear thing when I am at the final few seconds of the taming process and that requires that I start that over. I have enough mana for two tries. I have tried fighting him till he only has a few hp and taming, but end up with the same results. Alas, before I could try to tame again, my avitar hit him one time and killed him.

So that is the sad story.  My question is how do I get past this fear thing? Is there a potion or something that I can buy?
I think that Sian would make a cool addition to my cat stable if only for his looks (in town).
I would appreciate any advice,
