I didn't even notice when I accepted this quest that it was timed, and by the time I noticed I was at 30 minutes left and I was in Razor Hill. Ran to Org, ran out killed 5 scorpions to get the 4 drops (that's an 80% drop rate for those of you bad with math), ran back to Org, then went back to the original guy and completed the quest with 13 minutes remaining.

Thanks for the tip. I took my time, killed every scorp and boar in site. Skinned them all. Mined a little. Stopped at the vendor to sell the misc stuff, etc...
Really, the only rush is that you must do the quest that day when you accept it. Plenty of time to get it done though as long as you go get it started.
I think its for RP server.. When they walk and everything like this..
I got 4 venomtail poison sac in 5 kills. I just think its luck, Mage-lvl10

The guy you seek is in the lower level of the drag as previous posts stated. But ... don't watch your minimap for some kind of gold dot to show you he's near, you are looking for a ! new quest, not a ? quest completion.
Maybe that's obvious if you read carefully what's going on ... but then who does that? :D
no hes in the cleft of shadow cords are 47, 54
The guy in orgrimmer is a troll at the shadow cleft area, you need to look for him though because he will have a ! over his head not a ? so he will NOT show up on the miniMap
Patch 2.3 He's on the map as an exlamation mark. easy to find.
either the drop rate changed or i am very unlucky it took me about 12 mobs for the drop but i still had plenty of time and finished the quest within 15 minutes with a mage lvl 11
Make sure to know where Kor'Ghan is and how to get back to him if ya wanna finish the quest quick (47,53 Cleft of Shadows). He won't be marked at this time, but at least you will know where to look.
Find Rhinag amongst some tall, out of place looking rocks at 41,18 and talk to him when ready. As mentioned by others, you got 45 mins.
Run back to Ogrimar and find Kor'Ghan, who is now quest marked. Talk to him and get the next part.
Run back outside, near where you found Rhinag and kill scorps till you have enough venom sacks, or whatever.
Back to Kor'Ghan again to get antidote. Then back to Rhinag to complete.
I had no idea what I was doin and finnished with 25 mins left.
Thanks for clear instructions. I went to Kor'ghan first and was puzzled why he didn't have a "!" above his head. I knew I hadn't already done the quest.
But with your comments I realised that I had to go to Rhinag first. The quest is misleading because it says to go to Kor'ghan first.
Anyway I completed the whole thing with 23 minutes to spare using a level 13 hunter.
all just you need to do is go to orgri (cleft of shadows) find Kor'ghan there and acept hes quest then just kill scorpions outside orgri till you got the hearths then turn in the quest to Kor'ghan and you got the quest item ( go to turn the quest Need for a cure)
yes that helps a lot.. i searched and searched and until i read this post, i couldn't find it. I am a 66 rogue looking to up my rep with the DST and the rep on this is sweet. And i dont have the ! cause its a low level, I must have searched for about an hour and i couldn't find him, was gonna give up and i read this post short sweet and to the point. because the cords are 41.18 all the way the the bottom of the map. Thank you!!!

I can't accept this quest.. is it because I'm 70? That makes no sense.. *sighs* v.v
During brewfest, you can take Now This is Ram Racing... Almost, and take the ram up to Kor'ghan, turn it in on the way back, grind the scorpids with more than half an hour to spare and turn THAT in. Awesome having a free mount at lvl 10 for 4 mins... :D
EDIT: you still need to run back though, for which you can take There and Back Again, abandon it when you need to, then turn in this quest before going back to the brewfest one if you want to :)

The Guy is where the map shows you he is in the picture section. It don't get no simpler than that. Screw cords.
The person you need to run too is in the CLEFT OF SHADOWS! It's NOT The Drag. The Drag is a WHOLE nother area, as different from Cleft of Shadows as Valley of Honor is from Valley of Wisdome. Different areas.
WITHOUT cords: First off, turn OFF track human. Don't look for him in The Drag since there is an alchemy trainer with a name so close to his it's a one letter difference. With the new patch a (!) in bright yellow will show up on your map when you get close to his area.
When going into The Drag, stick to the left wall and follow it up and past the shop. You will be on the second leve but it's easier this way so just DO IT. Go around the bend till you see a purple light down belowe. Drop down and you will land right in front of a sight that says/points to the Cleft of Shadows (two feed to your left is where it points...). It's the Warlock training area. Go in and strait down till you get to the base of the ramp (200 feet in) and look directly to the left.
If you can't see this guy then Ressen's momma aint' the only Blind Hunter.
Time: You are timed from the time you leave the original questgiver to the time you get to his freind, back out to kill scorpions, back to the friend and back to the idiot who hunts scorpions without antivenom. Even as badly as my slow and sad computer lags in any city (especialy a major one) I still hade 12 min left when I finished this quest.
Drop rate: 1/3 for me. I killed first two and got dropped. Killed three more, got another one and three more before the last one.
Wierdness: I was able to get this quest again from the guy in the Cleft of Shadows and collect more venom and get another antivenom. When I got the antivenom, since I completed the original quest already, I now have an extra and can't do anything with it. Wish I could use it on pet so she'd stop being a green Duskstalker. *sigh*
Rep: There is not reason to go on Thotbot and whine and moan about completing this quest (or most for that matter) for any reason at all. I have found several Darkspear Troll quest that I can't even do because I'm not qualified and I have YET to vent on one of the boards after the first one (before I figured out why). Unless you NEED the rep this quest gives you, then for Thrall's sake, abandon and do another one. The Rep IS good however: 350 with Darkspear Trolls and Ogrimar.
At level 33 it was so easy it was almost time wasted. But, then again, 350 rep towards my mount is never really time wasted, now is it?

If you don't want to mess with doing the whole time quest thing I suggest this using this little loop hole that I found, it's pretty sleezy. Get the quest then run to Orgrimar to the Cleft of Shadows which gives you a quest to go back out and get (4) Venom Tails, once you get the venom tail quest go ahead and abandon the Need for a Cure quest (don't worry you are going to get it again). Then, go out and get the venom tails from the scorpions (at this point you can take your sweet time and not get frustrated). The drop rate is pretty good. Then go back to the Cleft of Shadow and turn in the Venom Tail quest and get the Antivenom. Run back out to Rhinag(SP) and accept the need for a cure quest. At that point you can turn it back in immediately. QUICK AND EASY! If this is a repeat I apologize, I didn't read all of the previous comments.

After you get the 2nd part of the quest from Kor'ghan in the cleft of shadows, leave Orgimmar out of the main gate. To the right are the "Venomtail Scorpids". They are the only ones that will drop the venom sacs. I got 4 venom sacs by killing 10 venomtail scorpids(which is about a 40% drop rate). As I was killing scorpids I went and turned in "Lost but not Forgotten" quest. After I got the sacs I returned to Orgimmar, got my armor fixed, then went back to the cleft of shadows, turned in quest, then walked back to (41,18). Point is did all that and finished quest with 19 min to spare. However the quest was green for my level 12 Rouge also. Recieved 975 XP as well as 350 Rep with Orgimmar and Darkspear Trolls.

8-23-2008, took this quest on my level 70 Troll Hunter because I had not completed it as a lowbie. It froze my computer up, and every time I relogged, it would freeze the game after about two seconds of being logged in. At this point I am still trying to figure out how to get back on.
My guildmates, both lowbies, also took this quest and are having no problems with it.
All 70s may want to avoid this quest for a little while.
5th of September, 2008. Just accepted this quest on my lvl 12 Shammy and each time i do so, it freezez up my game aswell, and I won't be able to log in till the 45 min. the quest takes have passed. So this is not lvl 70 bug only.
Well, as of today Oct 18, 2008 Kor'ghan is no longer above the mushroom vendor in the Cleft of Shadow. I abandoned the quest as the 'new' barbershop is where he used to be.
His new location is at 43,50 outside Rekkul's Poison shop.
Using Questhelper by any chance? I have seen it bug timed quests like this...turn it off...get quest, complete quest...turn back on:)
I grabbed this quest with my brand new level 9, thinking I might do something quickly en route from Org to TB. Big mistake. It's not one but two quests, each involving a lot of running, searching, slogging, running, searching, slogging and rinse and repeat.
The Time-Constrained Player had to abandon. Time and tide wait for no man, or woman either. Years ago, I complained constantly to the designers about multi-player quests that looked like solo quests and they made some changes. I think, in this era of everyone trying to get to Northrend as quickly as possible, it's time to separate out the quick quests from the agonizingly slow ones.
Location of Rhinag is 40.86 , 16.33
Ok Noobs, listen up:
Step 1: Get quest "Need for a cure" from Rhinag at 40.86,16.33
Step 2: Go inside Orgrimmar in the clef of shadows and get quest "Finding the antidote" from Kor'Ghan at 43.11 , 50.11
Step3: Go outside Main gate of Orgrimmar and kill Venomtail Scorpids to get venomtail Poison sacs.
Step 4: Take 4 sacs to Kor'Ghan and complete quest.
Step 5: Take antidote to Rhinag to complete Need for a cure.
You have 45 minutes to complete the two quests. Drop rate for venom sacs waws about 1 in 4 but you'll still have plenty of time.
When I tried the quest as of 11:30 AM on Sunday, November 08, 2009 - the quest was no longer timed.
