The armored pigs are exclusive to Razorfen Kraul, a late level 20 dungeon in the southern Barrens.  The pigs range from 24 to 28 elites and roam the long pathway floor that leads to the goblin escort.

          There are three colors:
          1. Brown,  Agm'ar
          2. White, Raging Agm'ar
          3. Dark blue, Rotting Agam'ar

The Rotting Agam'ar seems to be the most popular of the Agam'ars.  I have one myself called Bebop.

So you can either catch one and level it up 8-10 levels, it should catch up to you when your about 39 or 40 i'd guess.  Or wait another 12 levels and get one from the Blasted Lands.

If you want to teach him bite I suggest taming one of the black wolves in Duskwood, they come with bite rank 4 wich you'll then be able to teach your boar. As for Dash, well they can't learn that atleast untill lvl 30, so hopefully by that time I'l have found something I can learn dash from.

Yes, Boars are the ultimate pets, no questions asked. Usually Pets with fast attackspeed get a good name in PvP, howver, a Mage (for example) can just specc on burning soul if they don't wanna get inturupted, or throw away their imobs on a silly pet. There for a pet with attack speed not that imba, since other SC classes have simular specs. A Boar however, has charge! Charge is a great way to inturup a spell, plus it's an imobilase/Stun for like half a second, but still. i havent ever had a pet that Holds aggro better in PvE, and to qwote what someone said higher up here ^ like in the beginning of the page, "Boars are the best newbies pet" or something like that. Boars are great even on lvl 60. once you are at that lvl too, you can tame an "undead" boar in EPL. It's not really undead, it just looks like it's undead. annyhow it's one of my 3 current pets, bbut the only one i'm using. Hunters, you want this little piggie!

The highest level boar you can tame is a level 60 in the eastern plaguelands.  You want to tame them at somepoint in order to get charge rank 6, the highest rank of charge.

Previously, it was bugged and you could not learn charge from teh 60s in EPL.  Now you can, I did it about 1 month ago.  I still have bellygrub from Redridge as my my tanking pet.  Every once in a while he bugs out and his name appears as "Bellygrub."  haha

Mainly because it holds it in place and the NPC will attack nearest person "or pet" since it cant attack anything else, you get it? Good. Also these pets are also VERY good in PvP since its Charge again. There also so just darn adorable lol.  And its wide variety of Foods make it good when you ran out of a specific food you can get something real quick to make it happy!

Ok, a few things on the boars from experience:

First, if you are 70 and don't have a boar, no sweat... well, ok, a little sweat.  Basically, the name of the game is rep grind.  Need faction rep or Kurenai, Consortium, etc?  As a level 70 BM hunter with some nice gear (with my cat, I usually put out +600 average dps in instances and +800-1k dps on boss fights), with the boar's "charge" ability, it was able to hold threat off of me on level 65 and 66 mobs, when it was level 60.

Additionally, it appears that the AP bonus of charge, rank 6, increases by 5 AP per level (it scales, yay!).

Now, the reason why charge generates a HUGE amount of agro: According to Petopia, growl is affected by the pet's AP.  For example, using ktm, "Intimidation" (BM tree special ability) generates 1-1.5k threat, usually enough for an agro rip when needed.  Charge, on the other hand, will generate 4-4.5k threat at this point (still don't have the boar to 70 so I don't know what will happen with the next rank of growl).
The catch to this, in order for that agro generation, the first act by the boar on making contact with the enemy HAS to be growl.  Still, seems to be a higher-than-50% rate of occurance.

One added note as to abilities to train to a pet: It does depend on spec, and I can only really speak to BM hunters.  DO NOT waste training points on bite for PvE... or--and this one is more opinion than tested fact--for PvP either.  For boars your abilities are: charge, gore and growl, and possibly dash for instances since it lasts for 15 seconds, and might mean the pet making it to multiple mobs in the course of a single pull more quickly, but, if you take such a low low low low damage pet into an instance, well, fail.  For cats: claw, dash and growl.  Claw and gore are essential BM abilities because they are instant, low-focus and no cooldown.  If you are a propper BM spec, you have mad focus to burn, so give your pet the ability to burn it.  Why?  FI.  Ferocious Inspiration procs off of ANY pet crit, so, something like gore or claw that is pumping out constantly = more FI.  If, as a BM hunter, you are not seeing FI up for a minimum of 80% of all active fight time, you need to check your spec as well as your pet's.

Aside from that, any other pets than boars and cats (at the current point in patches and so-on) are good pretty much just for looking pretty.  Cats = damage pets; boars = solo/tank pets.  It would appear, until Blizzard gets an ounce of creativity injected into the blood stream, that is the way it will stay.  I will say though, If you find yourself soloing non-elites in groups a lot, the gorilla thunderstomp ability is quite nice for holding agro on multiple mobs.  The problem at 70 is keeping the gorilla alive while it does that... and the fact that the highest-level gorilla is a 55.

A final note, turtles do not, never have, and never will "pwn," just incase there's any confusion :-P.

People, People, all I say is...

                SPIDERPIG!

but jokes away, this is some facts about Boars in general:
Cool; There is a "Armored" Boar in Razorfen Kraul that's tamable.
Highest Rank Charge: West of the Scourge base outside Stratholme is a abandoned Farm that got boars, even though they may look undead they're listed as Beast and are Tamable.
Gore: Only Boars and the "Ravagers" found in Azuremyst, Bloodmyst and Outland, got this ability, which is based much on luck, either very low damage, or a nasty crit of dubble damage.
Dash: many got cats cause of the dash (+70% speed for 15sec) and guess what, your living pork chops got it too!

There is this one thing i've been wondering for a long time now: If i tame a level 10 pet it will, along the way towards 70, get a whole lot of training points.
But, here is my question: Will i get as much training points with a pet tamed at level 70 as a level 10 that is leveled all the way up towards 70?

Also: Can you train all the available "trainings" when your pet is level 70? By that i mean, can you have ALL those Great Stamina, Natural Armor and all resistances etc etc?
Cuz if you can't have ALL of em, what is the thing you should NOT train? I guess Great Stamina, Natural Armor and the pet's main active abilities are the ones to prioritize if you can't have 'em all.

I'm a level 60 Night Elf Hunter. Been using Boars since level 20.  Had my Blue Armoured boar since level 27.

They are awesome pets, they have more armor and hp's, but ergo, deal out less damage.  A good choice for people like myself who are pure marksman.

Just to correct a few peoples thinking.  All Pets of a 'family' with the exception of caster types, have the same stats.  So a Grey Boar is NO MORE damaging or better than a Brown Boar.  Some people have noted a variation in Pet Stats, this is of course ENTIRELY limited to YOUR stats and what skill tree you pursue.  All pets follow a standard pattern of development.

Petopia is a good resource for Hunters.

                All Boars have...
Learnable Skills: Bite, Charge, Dash, Gore  (excluding common)
Best Stat: Armor (DPS: -10%, AR: +9%, HP: +4%)

you have to learn those from other higher lvl beasts. this is where beast lore comes in handy. find the beast with the ability that you want, tame it, learn the ability and then ditch the pet. then you can teach that ability to your other pet. here is a helpful website to find pets with abilities.

Boars make one of the best tanking pets. They have great armor and a decent amount of health, meaning the can take a good amount of physical and spell damage.

The disadvantage of having a boar is that they have the lowest dps out of all the pets! Since their dps is low, they can not generate much threat off of their attacks alone. Fortuneately, boars have some great abilities to boost their dps. Charge will increase their attack power of their first attack, increasing their inital threat. Boars also have gore and bite which can be used to boost their dps and allow them to hold aggro better. If you are MM and want a boar, pick up go for the throat and you will be able to use gore every time you crit.

Since boars have such low attack damage, I recommend them for BM hunters. I tried leveling with them as a SV hunter, and found that my dps was too high to keep the aggro off of me effectively. A BM hunter that uses a boar, on the other hand, can have their pet tank high level and even some elite mobs.

Bah - they nerfed Boars in 2.4  Don't hold aggro like they used to after charge...

Note: Although there are lots of comments not to have both Dash and Charge.  I have seen benefits having both in PvP.  Charge is nice for that sudden stop of someone running after you, on the other hand having Dash, lets your pet run after them as you DPS them to being a kill.

It does take some thinking to turn Dash off if your not chasing anyone, but having it, is nice for the chase if you need it.  If you have Dash on Auto, Charge does not execute, so turn Dash off if it isn't needed and turn it on if chasing someone.

The boar isn't a great DPS'er but their benefit is in stopping opponents in order to get a little more distance for ranged attacks to fire.  Bite is negligble DPS, so I prefer to use Gore,Dash and Charge.
