I to think that alot of pet sin this game would be good if they had more. The game seems to push you into using a cat or a bear and while they are very cool I kind of want to see other pets. Like crocs they do make sound which is neat but I wish they would shut up sometimes becuase when I am in auction house and someone walks in with one I almost walk out becuase when I go into ah I go for awhile and listening to one for more then like 5 mins will drive any normal person crazy. I am hopeing in the next coming patchs they get something that will make people think about using them instaed of goin "use a cat or a bear no other pet". I am just hoping that it comes out soon becuase if I make a "twink" and get one and they come out with a awsome ability I will have to remake my char. which will be a massive pain.
YES I agreee the unbalance blizzard puts in towards pets is kind of disapointing. I'd like to see more of a diversity in what people can choose besides the friggen cat tree. my conundrum is why pets dont have some of their original abilities especially ones who only have 1 compared to the cats 4 ? eg crocs why don't they keep muscle tear or agility disease ability ????
It's kind of sad to see and i believe blizzard's people should actually read the forums and hear what people are saying and actually fix the issues in all regards not just pets. hope they do crocs are actually pretty good by ThermanMerman, Score 0.38 Yes! by Agruimmar, Score 0.37 can't deside by pethunter, Score 0.37

I had a croc at lvl 21 i used it till lvl 27. It was pretty good and did fair damage but then at 27 i got a cat that was much worse. I had that cat for like 1 lvl then i got a hyena for like an hour. Then i went to RFK and got a Rotting Agam'ar and that was pretty good. once i got to 30 which was like this morning i got a turtle. The turtle is amazing i suggest getting one. Overall my croc was pretty good.

Okay, I ama 60 hunter and I have tamed Stormwind's famous sewer beast...her new name is Precious...but i was wondering, is it possible to tame Rotgrip from Maradaun??? I realize its size will shrink, but it would still be bad-ass
yo! i love my crocolisk, Leatherhead, but i was wondering if they were gonna add some abilties to make all the pets more unique. i hate how he has nothing unique about him, save for the noises he makes.
My original pet was a spider, because that's what was nearby when I learned Tame. Then one day in the Wetlands I got my butt kicked by some lame little croc. Because its armor was so good, it just outlasted me like no other opponents. I knew I had to toss my spider, and I've never looked back. At level 47 now, how can I invest in another pet? Take so long to get all the training points.
Aside from the kick-butt armor, two other great things about the croc: 1. He eats meat AND fish. He is a cannibal even, and will actually eat tender crocolisk meat. This is important, because I always want him doing 125%. 2. The sound is annoying, but actually helpful from a game perspective. It's an audio queue that he's nearby, for instance if you're running from something, or both fighting different things. I use a Croc pet that I tamed in STV, the level 38 elite. My hunters who's level 39 is a Horde WSG base defender, if you play WSG alot you may have seen her, Momoko. Thats a damn good pet and being Bite is its only attack. You can get out alot of damage after turning off your growl for PVP. And having Bycrockey stay on the flag, aggro with a trap and flare.. no ones getting that flag on my watch.

Crocodiles are the last vestiges of the giant saurians that once ruled the world. Unchanged from the Jurassic era, crocodiles are the only reptile to have surived the cateclysm that wiped out the rest of the saurians. They are true survivors, the last of the dinosaurs, the same powerful hunters as they were when the shared the ocean with ichyosaurs and bony-armored fish.

Dunno bout crocs but Sewer Beast seems cute lol if by cute i mean 8 times as big as you and in stormwind canals(rare mob)(to bad im horde lol)
Sewer Beast=This named mob doesn't have a rare mob loot table, nor is it used in any quest objectives. Its only purpose is to serve a Hunter as a unique Pet. It has a lengthy spawn timer and can be found at the ends of the Stormwind Canals, such as right outside Stormwind Keep. Unlike most rare mobs, he doesn't wander after appearing, remaining stationary at whatever spawn point it happens to be at. He is also unique in that he is the only tameable mob in the entire game to regularly spawn inside a capital city. The creature is very large, is yellow/brown with a light tint of white coloration on its body. Three young boys that fish the canals will sometimes talk about the Sewer Beast, but this is in no way an indication of his spawning. Also it has been rumored that the creature is likely to spawn between 8 and 10 AM server time. He is probably a reference to the common urban legend of crocodiles living in city sewers. In the World of Warcraft beta test, the Sewer Beast was the largest tamable creature in the world, approximately the length of eight human characters lying down on the ground if lined up head to toe. After pet size normalization, he no longer has that distinction, but is still one of the least-seen hunter pets on most servers.
If you want a tanking pet you should go turtle if you want a tanking pet that can hit better than a level 1 priest go croc. Armor is insane and they can hit semi-poorly which beats noobish. Downside is these guys make really annoying noises like a cat coughing up a hairball every five seconds.

Best tanking pets:
Turtle Bear Croc Ape Turtle huge downside n the damage department which means when you crit and you will you pull aggro off your pet every ten sec. Bear really the same thing here the only benefit is the bear gets more HP than turtle less armor though. Apes get enough HP to get teh job done and actually have a buff to damage so they hold aggro really well especially with the AoE attack of theres however they sometimes pull non-combative enemies into the fight EXTREMELY annoying especially if you are farming clefthoof leather in nagrand chain about 3 of the clefthoof then your gorilla friggin thunderstomps 3 talbuks onto himself it blows. the Croc IM humble opinion the best tank 1. no damage reduction they obtain and keep aggro better than all but the ape however Thunderstomp costs 60 focus meaning its extremely inefficient bite 35 growl 15 2 bites 2 growls and croc has aggro for the duration. 2. awesome armor. nuff said 3. yes they take a penalty to HP but as a BM hunter my stam is his stam and my hunter is sitting at quite alot of HP ATM. 4. one thing I haven't talked about their low profile even when frenzied they are so low to the ground that warriors, shammies rogues don't have a problem targetting. 5. The noise I actually like the noise its an audible que to let me know where he is. PVP unfortunately the cat/ravager wins although I like to use my croc to just to be different in PVP and I love that he has staying power.** he doesnt have the interrupt of a cat or ravager ** For all the people that would flame me for saying no ones attacking your pet well intimidate works in PVP now 8) also if my pets attacking I feign death and they tab target guess who they target instead of me.

AS some people have mentioned, crocs make decent tanks because of their high armor and zero dps penalty. One of the downsides of crocs, however, is that the only ability that they can learn is bite. Since they have -5% health they are slightly more vulnerable to spell damage.
Crocs have decent enough dps to be used as a tank by non-bm speced hunters. If you are going to use a croc- do not bother putting points into go for throat or focus training.
They are highly aggressive and very good to have in a fight with multiple enemies. I have a white bear and a dragon also, but I end up playing with my croc the most because:
1. He eats fish and meat, so he is easy to feed. 2. He can be sent into a crowd and kills pretty quickly. 3. He takes the aggro and keeps it to himself, so I can just sit back and shoot arrows. 4. If you put him on aggressive, he will kill everything. As in anything that is in range of sight. EVERYTHING in range of sight. 5. One thing that none of the posts mention is his speed. Crocs are faster than bears and cats (which I tried out, but got bored with) and they keep up with you better when you are using Aspect of the Cheetah.

Yeah i dont like crocs cause they can only learn bite not enough threat and dps in my opinion.
crocolisks have really cool looks. but for me, the fact that they only have bite is a major loss. maybe im stuck on the huntard notion that " if ur pet has lotta skills its perfect" and i really wanna use crocs. ill give them a try
these things are big,BIG and I mean it!!!BIG!!!BIG!!BIG!!!
