Snarler is difficult to find, because he moves around in two different locations. One is near the Lariss Pavilion, and the other location is to the right of it (in between the Lariss Pavilion & The Lower Wilds). That is where I found my Snarler, while some people have found it near the Lariss Pavilion. Just remember not to give up, he is CLOAKED, so you will not be able to spot him unless you use flare, or happen to bump into him. Don't give up finding him, just grind around there if you're really bored.
Happy hunting =) took me 2 days to find him, but well worth it.
i found snarler 2 minutes after i entered feralas ahh im so proud of him :') but im still confused as to why he has like -37 training points (im kinda noob)

Relating to my above post i am now an owner of Snarler and as i promised, i took alittle pitcure of his stats. Sad to say his Res is all 0 but it doesn't matter to me. Cause i know he's rare and the work put into finding him is prize all itself. Ive decided to name him Fenris and im very happy with him. Now for location.
I spotted his walking away from the pavilion on the east side
Time=About 10:30pm Server time
Time Spent Camping: 3 hours about
Cloaked?: Nope! like i said above, he's black so he's just hard to find but he appears on the tracker
Other: Ill mention the fact that for some reason about after 10 of the 20 seconds Taming takes he decided to try and run away. Ran over to a bear i was worried was gonna attack me, turned around dead on the spot and charged right back at me! didn't break the taming channel took one try.

It was an easy tame. I was happy that I laid a trap. Just as I started to tame Snarler a mob tried to attack me, who luckily trapped itself in my icetrap. :D Then tames Snarler, so we could kill the mob.
Happy ever since.
Ps th tip of making a macro was very usefull.

Snarler, once known for its impressive resistance rates. Too bad that he now posses none of those extraordinary resistances. With these Nerfs hes nothing more than a mere wolf……the only thing good about is that he comes with a level 6 Bite and a level 3 Furious Howl which are quite impressive for his level. This wolf can be seen in 76,38 but spends most of his time strolling north of camp mojache near the ogre mounds. Like any other rare spawn he has a LONG spawn rate and added to the fact that he can cloak so when you do see him quickly mark him with a hunter’s mark or he will disappear in front of you -_-“( This area is very near the Horde camp so it is over farmed and filled with hordies so alliance beware).Like ay oter rarespawn dont waste your time on this guy, log on in intervals instead of going parnoid trying to find him O.O(Note: If you want to do something constructive level wise you can grind on the mobs that surround the area but be careful since those bears that are also there tend to magically call for friends for some reason, they also become adds when you do find Snarler while taming and if you don’t want to tame him like me… because he isn’t that strong anymore I recommend you kill him to get his item or post on general chat that you found him so other hunters that want to catch him can)

I trained Snarler at 9:35 AM EST on Rexxar. He arrived near west side of Pavilion after several minutes of grinding. I abandoned old pet,a longtooth runner, and began taming. The first attempt to tame failed because he stealthed before process was complete, but he quickly re-appeared and I tried again. This time he tried to stealth right when tame was completing(flash of light). The was tamed but I had to re-log to get him to appear under my name as my pet. I was able to feed him immediately though in spite of glitch. Because of previous pet I already had Snarlers abilities plus Dash 2. If you dont mind a more plain pet the runner very easy to find as they are very common, lvl 40-41, have an extra ability (Dash 2), and don't stealth making taming process a easier. So i recommend getting runner first then get Snarler if convenient. BTW I'm lvl 42 so Snarl will catch up to me quickly :).

Im a little mad right now... ive been caomed out by the pavilion for SO long now!!! Can anyone give me some help. I check all around the pavilion and then run east all over to search for him in another spot! NOTHING! I love rare pets, i have ressan the needler and the ghost saber... this would be a great addition for me
Not all rare mobs are elites.
Snarler is vary hard to find yes... but when lookin for him you will notice there about two dens around the same place with bones and meat all around them.. Keep check around there offten because thats where I found mine.. :)
Ok I looked right above the horde camp over and over again and like 31 mins later i was tracking beasts and i saw him on my map so he isnt stealthed make sure you use hunters mark so when he try to vanish youll still see him , but i found him :) 3:37 PM Alexstraza Realm 2:40 wow time and his resistance is 8 arcane 2 fire 6 nature 2 frost and 2 fire but i love him hes nice just tamed him (and for the alliance watch out for the horde camp gurds they got me like twice)the coords are 76,38

im soooo happy!! i just tamed him, and he has AMAZING STATUS!!!
By the way, i found him at the entrance the the gorduni(?) camps and next to the waterfall. You have to do hunters mark otherwise the tame is impossible, so put it on before tame.
His staus are 77-94 dmg at 2.00 attack speed,42.8 dps
his armour is (without my armour buffs) 2257
He didnt keep his resistances though, and it is 508 right now

Wow, finally tamed him!
For any Hunter looking to tame Snarler, here's some advice that may be helpful...
If you walk up and down the area that Snarler roams (look at the highlighted area on the picture of the map above) and you don't spot Snarler on your mini map just from one walkthrough, then he's more than likely not spawned. Don't waste time walking back and forth trying to find him thinking you missed him. The best bet is to either log off and log back in in that area an hour or more later and see if you find him by walking around again, or just leave and come back to it. The best place to wait for Snarler is at or around the temple/dome-like structure just north of the Horde village (next to the water).
The way I found him was that I revisited the area (after leaving to do other things), and as I was walking along the path to go back to the temple-like building, I spotted him on my mini map walking in that direction!
If you manage to find him, first thing put your Hunter's Mark on him. (If you're a Draenei like me, then any time you go to tame a pet, using Gift of the Naaru right before you tame the beast is an excellent idea to keep your health up as they attack you).
Best of luck to anyone trying to find him!
Also, these are the stats he had when I tamed him (w/o my own buffs):
Strength: 86
Agility: 53
Stamina: 169
Intellect: 26
Spirit: 54
Power: 152
Damage: 81-99
Attack Speed: 2.00
DPS: 44.9
Armor: 2257
He started off with -37 Training Points and 4 Shadow Resistance.
I tamed this wolf last night. I was using a raptor, but I stabled him and ran back to find snarler.
After a bit, I found him just off the road on the NE side of the Camp.
Taming him can be very tricky with the other mobs around. His vanish trick while being tamed can be a pain.
I finally feared him, dropped a freeze trap, and tamed. Luckily he did not run out of taming range.
The wolf does less damage than a raptor, because there is no claw attack and the bite is on a timer. Furious Howl is very nice for groups however, and the color on the wolf makes this pet well worth the effort.
This is a really great pet (for people who dont pvp much) and he gives an awesome group buff :D
I tamed him at level 42 or 43 and still have him at 68
keeping till 70..
Go Scooter!
he should show up on Beasts...i think. i honestly dont know. i was running along the road to his area to see if he was there. i pulled off the road a little headed toward the dome building and he was right in front of me and i almost pulled him. anyone thinking about getting this guy should definitely go for it. the rediculous resistance is gone but he is still a really cool pet and i havnt seen anyone else with him so i feel pretty cool. it seems like he crits A LOT but thats probly just from my BM stuff.

It took me about a day to find him. He wasnt that hard to find but I got him at around 6:00. Before you start taming him, YOU NEED TO PUT ON HUNTERS MARK!!!!! other wise he will blink away and you will have to start all over again.
Dont give up and keep trying!!!
its kinda of a bug.he USED to come with 100 to all resistance.but it got nerfed a while back.its just a weird thing that he still has them for a little while after tameing.summoning a mount then calling him reverts them to 0s.moveing to another zone or logging in and out probubly does to..

I tamed this guy yesterday morning before I even knew how difficult he was to find or tame!
Was just wondering through Feralas, getting the new abilities, bite rank 6, claw rank 6 and furious howl rank 3. When I came across Snarler near to ramp to the pavillion. Abandoned the Longtooth howler I'd just learnt bite from, and tamed him! He disapeared the first time, but didn't wonder away, so tried to tame again and success!
I'm happy! :D
killed him in the lower wilds at 5:35pm pacific time or azshara droped a Field Plate helm of the whale.
Ok I got Snarler this morning at around 7:00am Server Time. I was flying into the horde camp with beast tracker on, and on my minimap was where he first popped up while I flew by.
I ran out there, marked him, and waited for him to walk away from all the mobs. Then i renewed mark, set down trap, and tamed. He does this sort of "evasion" that u see rogues do, trots away (u should still be taming), then sprints back.
(He might not have all the resistances or really any big differences from other wolves, but its his appearence and the fact that YOU found the rare black wolf and the other hunters didn't.)
I then came back a few times to find out his respawn time. I finally saw him again around 2:30pm server time and he had respawned. So about a 6-7hour respawn time.
He walks from between those two mesas on the world map, away from the path. If he's not there, come back in an hour and check again. (I started searching for him 2days ago. I read all these other comments and didnt get it. DO NOT GIVE UP, just keep looking)

Is Snarler better than Araga you think?
Hey WoW fans,
I just found Snarler yesterday. He was near the Lariss Pavilion half near the stream and half near the pavilion. I had camped him for about 2 hours a day for 3 days, and I was about to give up, when I decided to try one last time. My character was already at the pavilion. I checked my minimap and there was no sign of him. Right when I was about to log off, he appeared right in front of me. Obviously I tamed him.
Tip: Hunters, you don't need to put Hunter's Mark on him any more. Just be sure to have Freezing Trap(Rank 2).
(If you're persistant and you really want him, don't bother with spawn times. THEY DONT HELP.)

Heh,
I tamed him at around 7:30 P.M server time.
Have fun!
just tamed him today he i was going to help a old friend when we came upon him im a lv 47 hunter right now and i was with my green serpant that i just got but when i saw this wolf i had to have him.i didnt see him at first and i just thought that three wolves were attacking me while i was on my mount but then i saw his black coat and the silver dragon like a wolf type of humar(i got humar too) he was the most difficult to catch for me because of all the other wolves and bears around and his anoying disapearing act. i was like three sec to catch it and then it dissapeared on me like four times then i finally got him. does he still have that disapearing thing while you tame it though and is it as hard to find as humar was?
I got this pet at level 42, i am now level 51 and still have him, i recommend him for any hunters who want a challenge,he is worth searching for.
I just tamed Snarler at about 9:15 am. He's a great looking wolf and as far as I can tell the real advantage other than appearance are that his stats are a bit higher for a level 42. He does not come with Dash2 so if you dont already have it. I would suggest first taming a Longtooth Runner next to the pavillion to pick up Dash2, then dumping him and taming a Ironfur Grizzy to gain Bite6. This wont take long and you will then be ready to go with Snarler.
It took me 2 tries. the first night i waited about 2 hours with no appearance. The next morning I logged and there he was. He spawns next to the creek to the west of the pavillion, walks past the front steps and down towards Thousand Needles. he takes the first left up a little path between the hills and up around returning next to the road and back to the pavillion area. When you tame him, he blinks and makes "Baa" sound like a sheep (interesting). He doesnt blink enough to break the taming most of the time. I would suggest using the ice trap to hedge your bet. Good Luck!
its been 5 hours and still no sign of Snarler.... no clue and ive searched every where for him to be found...
Its been 7 hours and 30 mins and i still have had no sign of Snarler..I am so tired of this i want to give up so bad but i want the wolf badly to! Ill update when i get him...
Saw him at (81,40) near Lower Wilds
Well, Ive been looking on and off throughout the day. I ran into some allies who actually assisted me (Horde here) and I guess I owe them for the new pet. After being saved, I bowed and said thanks....turned around and Boom, there he was. By the spiral cathedral 76, 36. Took me a Hunters mark to keep him in, otherwise he breaks away. He even breaks the freeze trap half way through.
All I have to say is luckly another passing hunter didnt kill him as he was coming up on him or I wouldve been royally piffed! I shot, abandoned my pet and froze to tame. Now I have a new rare pet! Goes Great with my Ghost Saber :)
Make sure you stick a Hunter's Mark to him, otherwise he will fade during the taming process and you'll lose your target. He spawned directly at the Lariss Pavillion for me, too.
I have Snarler as my pet for my 44 Hunter, he's a real good pet and it was an easy tame. I was lucky and found him spawned just a few minutes after getting ready to wait.
I thank the people on here for giving me the tip of putting Hunter's Mark on him before taming. Snarler'll try and stealth away and cancel the tame if you don't put it on! Put a freeze trap down so he can't hurt you as much and he'll stay within the taming process longer.
Snarler's an easy tame if you follow that. Plus he deals good damage and he's adorable!
I just put up some screenshots of what it looks like and its stats, becuase i leveled to 70 with it i will likely have it trained different than what you would like. Instead of resistances i put everything mainly into stamina and armor so it would be better for tanking. Ive experimented with some other pets like raptors and cats, Snarler seemed to be the best overall. Though it lacks resistance and avoidance, its definently the best that i could find while leveling to 70. Thats just my opinion =P
Finding it could be tricky, all the information i got off the posts above and a freind of mine who had the pet. I found that Snarler usually spawned around 10(Central Time US/Canada) in the morning, this is when i got him after two days of searching. Note this was when i was level 43 so my memory isn't too accurate. It was all worth it when i finally got it. It can be tricky to find becuase it cloaks in and out, Track Beast worked well for this. Be carful when you are taming, it will tend to cloak or run away, for a precuation lay a trap and freeze Snarler when you tame. I ended up naming it Shade for its unusual colour for its level. Defenently worth the trouble. Wolfhunta lvl 70 hunter Rexxar
just went there on my dwarf hunter
didn't even hunters mark him, just concussive shot, followed by a frost trap, and bam.
really great stats btw
