And inside that shield its emty, cuz i have seen inside it with my Eye of the Eagle.
But why the hell is Dalaran so SMALL? In WC3 it is much bigger and cooler, the same is with The City of Lordaeron, TO DAMN SMALL!!
Prob cuzz dalaran was DESTROYED mostly in WC3..
Have you completely forgotten???? Archimonde blew up the whole damn city with his sand castle thingy!! And that blue orb is just the magical source of dalaran!! Oh my god why do you think it's ruined houses all over the damned place...Damn you need www.wowwiki.com
There are some places that are not playable, however a place I hope will be playable soon is Hyjal.
Ive been there and the World Tree with Achimonde's skeleton still there, now that is really awsome.
Also there are some entrances and smashed cities there and as of Burning Crusade you will probably fight by Mount Hyjal using Cavern of Times.
Dalaran is indeed the city that Archimonde crushs and most of the things in wow cannot by far be compered to wc3 or the pocketbooks about Warcraft.
Durnholde Keep for example, where Thrall was raised, is completely diffrent in wow than in the book.
You cant really get in but ur pet can: keep running into the barrier thing untill ur pet walks in between the dark purple and the see-through purple then press stay so he doesnt move out when your casting eyes of the beast. then you can walk around in there as ur pet.
its not completely empty, you can climb the walls of the gates and a tower that is half way in but other than that theres... some grass, some dirt and a few ugly flowers not like anyone cares about that.
A mage can blink in :D
[img] [/img]
i just entered with blink surly depend on where u try i was just behind village
You can go there with the directions at: http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/areas.html?warea=235
I have quest items that I'm supposed to turn in to someone in Dalaran and I have no idea where it is!
Go north from Southshore, and take the road to the left. It's northwest into the Alterac Mountains
I agree though. In Warcraft 3, Dalaran is this giant city you have to fight your way through and kill 3 Arch Mages. Well, here it's a buble with a few ruined houses around it... It needs to be much bigger with more ruins. They should have a zone called Dalaran and there would be a neutral city/camp with Wizards who survived the attack, and then there would be quests to kill demons, undead, and magical creatures that were released.
Sucks how this Alliance faction is going to be neutralised.
yes dalaran should probably be an alliance faction
Blizz should have a fun time sorting that one out : P
"for unexplained reasons The Kirin tor suddenly started to like the hordies and let them in their magestic city"
hehe by mickeyham99, Score 0.45
Yesterday, i went off doign a level 35 quest in Dalaran and what did i c........a lock a mage and a hunter trying to make thier way through the barrier...it worked..they dueled and the mage plymorphed the lock in..then the lok and the mage dueled agin with that lock inside..the lock feared the mage....then they summoned their friends and had a Dalaran house party!
OMFG everyone go check the WotLK expansion notes...
Dalaran WILL be available as a new city, but not in that purple bubble. It will be instead replaced by the Kirin Tor in Northrend, in order to help fight the Lick King.
Now, maybe you should start wandering why is Old Ironforge still there... or the IF airport... it is rumored that plans are under development for areas such as this.
HINT: just like zones getting ready in upcoming patches/expansions, so are some items. White and green are turning to blue BoP etc. Self-twinking ^^
I read above that someone thought making Dalaran an instance would be cool... What, like Kirin Tor going mad and you gotta kill them all?! Wtf?! Anyway, learn to write english ppl, you're making a fool out of yourselves. No offence meant, it's for your own good.
Why tha heck you ask a lot of questions and then answer them yourslef? lol! i'we tryed blink in like 50000 times! tried Pylymorph or whatever it is and fear and Warrior fear and nothing worked! isn't that cool?
Just to confirm Mages can blink in, I did it today with my Mage form Coords, 19,71 just stand on the platform that is there, blink, and presto your in :P
I'm totally in! I used the cords 19, 71, and blinked in. ANNDD.........
Nothin. It's empty. Still cool though. Took a pic.
im sure Blizzard will make it an instance like the Caverns Of Time it will portal you back to when Archimonde was coming to destroy the city of Dalaran, and you will see Medivh there, watching as the city is destroyed and there will be some cool new weapons (etc.)... thats what i think
Archmage Cedric is at 15.54 in the Altarac Mountains just outside bubble
Dalaran is to move from its previous location in the Alterac Mountains to levitate at great height in the air north of the Dragonblight in Northrend. It will act as the neutral sanctuary city for the continent, similar to Shattrath City in Outland, under the guidance of Rhonin and the Kirin Tor. The Kirin Tor are responsible for the move, but the exact method is unknown - it is likely to be either by teleportation or transportation. It can be accessed by either foot or flying mount. However, as with Shattrath, there will be no class trainers or auction houses. The effect on the current location of Dalaran is unknown.
There is the possibility that Blizzard might add it in future expansions or upgrades. There is nothing there now, but Daralan may be set in a magical dimension like the mages tower in Stormwind, thus the exterior size does not really matter as the interior can be a big as Blizzard would like to make it.
Is there any way to get in when your not a mage?
Read about WotLK. The Kirin Tor needs all the help it can get (Ally and Horde) to fight Malygos and his flight.
18,78 is where I found the Archmage at. Head northwest out of Southshore go around the hills and mountains that are in your way, then head north. Cant miss him.
Archimonde destroyed most all of Dalaran (to serve as an "example" to everyone else) after Kel'Thuzad summoned him into Azeroth. In the cinematic, it begins with a carved marking in the ground (which Archimonde used to create a miniature sandcastle of Dalaran, and destroyed it that way)...I don't suppose anyone knows where this marking in the ground is at this time? I'm running all around Dalaran, looking on top of hills, but I can't see any little etchings in the earth.
What's with so many people posting Photobucket pics? They're always taken down due to high bandwidth usage.
To complete that achievement you need to go to Darlaran, Which has moved as of patch 3.0.2 to Northrend, If you go to where Darlaran was at there is nothing but a crater left.
How to get to the new Dalaran in Crystalsong Forest.
If you've discovered the city of Dalaran before you will be able to use the crystal to transport you to the city, but if you haven't you might need a warlock in the city to summon you or have someone in Dalaran Q you for battle grounds and /afk out, which will bring you to Dalaran.
the coords of the guy in the pic are ~15, 43 but the zone is deep in Northrend so you probably wont be able 2 get there on foot until you're ~74
so... how do you get to Dalaran without getting summoned there?
I tried using the funny triangle teleporter
'The teleport crystal cannot be used until the teleport crystal in Dalaran has been used at least once'
Frick...
As in an earlier post - if you know someone who has been to Dalaran, they can bring you in via BG. Once there, either set your hearth there or learn how to use the crystal to port from Dalaran and Violet Stand below.
You can run to Violet Stand in Crystalsong Forest as a 70-71, if you stay on path and dodge around any mobs. However, if you have never used the crystal inside Dalaran, you can't use the crystal in Violet Stand to port up to Dalaran (floating above). If you decide to make the run, pick up the FP's along the way in Dragonblight... you may need them to fly out of Dalaran.
Once in - either set your hearth there or learn the FP's and Crystal port method to get back on the ground and back to quests in Northrend. Otherwise, you will have to portal to a city on another continent and come back to Northrend via boat, etc. There is a portal to Wintergrasp Lake, but that lands you in a lvl 80 battle area that will be hard to get out of if you are but a 70-71.
A couple toons reported that they could not use the FP out of Dalaran back to Borean Tundra or Valerian. Not sure why - but they did not have epic flying skill. I had epic flying and had no problem flying from Dalaran to found fp's throughout Northrend. You cannot fly your Outland flying mounts in Northrend until you are 77 and have trained cold weather flying (1000g).
Is there really no other way into Dalaran than a port of some sort by another player or to fly? No quest to use the teleport crystal or something?
Well you can jump but we all know how that ends...
Be sure 2 have the maoki harbor FP if u try to fly from and to dalaran the first time
I've just hit level 74 and I'm a Hunter. A new quest has become available to me from Magister Dath'omere in Valiance Keep(Borean Tundra). He's located in the doorway of the Inn. I took the quest and he asked me to speak to him again. I then had the option to be teleported to Dalaran.
*Attn Alliance*
There is also a dalaran teleporter npc in Dragonsblight at stars' Rest. Npc name image of archmage modera
Loc= 29.0, 55.0
So, what about the Horde side?
The horde teleporter can be found in Agmar's Hammer of Dragonblight. He is the Image of the Kirin Tor Image right next to the Orcish Leader in teh big building.
You can currently get into Dalaran without a Mage portal or PVP group or the quest. I did at 71.
You need to die in CrystalSong forest and you get put on a Spectral Gryphon to ride back to your body (no spirit healer). Fly upwards instead (space bar) until you can drop, as a ghost, into Dalaran. You will need to ride round to Krasus' Landing as you are automatically dismounted if you try other places (no-fly zone). Then you can walk around Dalaran as a ghost. I ended up in the portal room. I then logged out and when I logged in again the next day I was alive with minimal health and could set my Hearthstone. It's obviously a glitch that will be fixed at some point. I'm not sure how much durability loss I suffered so maybe do it without gear.
Where the hell do you get in Dalaran????!!! I tried everything I'm a lvl 77 and i still havent went in Dalaran >.< i'm in the Realm Mok'Nathal if a mage will be willing to summon me or a warlock to also summon. Sylaindilua level 77 Death Knight.
To get into Dalaran (the way Blizzard want you to) first you need to be level 74.
This is for Alliance;
Then go to Stars' Rest in Dragonblight, Get the quest 'The Magical Kingdom of Dalaran'. Then speak to them again to complete that quest. You will then ported to Dalaran.
When you arrive Archmage Celindra is one floor directly below you.
Get into Dalaran AT ANY LEVEL...
-----------------------------------
Go to Borean Tundra via the boat ride from Stormwind.
From Borean Tundra, go right until you hit Dragonblight. There are few enemies on the way, and they are avoidable.
Once in Dragonblight, head to the path into Crystal Song at around 60, 10. This path goes north at the top middle of the map.
DIE. You must be dead for this to work. If you die near the top middle of Dragonblight, there is less walking. The graveyard is close to this path.
Go over the path into Crystal Song at the top middle, WHILE STILL DEAD. Upon entering Crystal Song, you will be on a flying ghost mount. You can fly while dead! :D
Fly up to Dalaran and get next to the spirit healer.
LOG OFF AND LOG BACK ON. This is crucial, and it won't work otherwise.
After you logged, talk to the spirit healer and rez with 25% damage and rez sickness. You are in Dalaran.
----------------------------
Some suggestions: Save the flight point. Make it your home at an inn, because from here you can port immediately (without cooldown) to all major cities. For Alliance, this includes Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus, Exodar and Shatt. So, it kind of replaces Shatt or rather allows you to use Shatt and more. Happy playing!
