Currently this is exactly the same as Potion or Elixir Mastery. When you do a transmute, you get a chance to proc more than one. So if you're trying to transmute Primal Might from...whatever, you might proc up to four or five Primal Mights in one shot. Just like potions.

There is currently some debate as to the usefulness of this. If it doesn't proc, you're stone is still on cooldown for the duration of that specific transmute (24-48 hours for most if not all known transmutes). The debate is that, since you are limited only by the amount of raw materials you possess with the other two mastery's, the cooldown on the Alchemist's Stone makes this specialization rather prohibitive.

To be honest though transmuting has always been limited in this fashion, an alchemist is not prohibited from making other potions/elixirs just because they are transmute masters.

In other words, there has always been a reason for transmutes to have a cool down. But it doesnt surprise me that players whine over something that hasnt changed but they suddenly wake up because they decide to train a profession :P

I think that if you train Transmute you should get more alloted uses of the stone or you learn to make a stone that binds like the old one that has more uses per day.  Just so that the player has a reason to spec to transmute mastery.  Don't make it infinite or the character will become amazing.  Just make it like 3-5 uses instead of just one transmute per day.  Or you could assign a cost to the transmutes of certain items a cost.  And allow "Charges" to be used instead.  And the charges rebuild every day.

im a transmute master and i hate the 23 hour cooldown as much as the next guy...but cmon there is so way you can have a stone that let's you transmute 5 times in one day. don't get me wrong i would love it but, say your having a really lucky day and you transmute all 5 times and proc 5 each time thats 25 primal mights in one day...granted the odds of procing 5 in a row is insane it still wouldn;t be a good idea to have and this is coming from a transmute master.  it would just flood the AH with primal mights and (earthstorm and skyfire diamonds) and it would lower there value which isn;t good for us at all

i think the true discussion is if Xmute is as valuable as Pot or Elixir mastery.

if you make pots or elixirs with AH ingrediants and can sell for breakeven or even a slight profit any procs you get are pure profit. and this profit is only limited by the servers herb market.

you can use this profit to buy all the primal mights or meta gems you need.

I am a transmute master and I do make some money on it every day, even when it isn't a lot. I transmute primal earth to primal water, which is 2g to 15-20g. This is without procs. With procs it can become a very good business.

I did some math based on AH prices on my server and found out that it is a waste of money to make primal mights unless you get a proc. The mats on my server cost the same or some times even more than the primal might. Of course if you proc a lot, primal might is the transmute for you.

I wasted a lot of time thinking that the alchemy trainer in Shatt that gives you the quest for Elixir Mastery was the one that offered the other masteries as well, but to my dismay, it was for..you guessed it..to make Elixirs! Doh!  Now it's going to cost me 150G to untrain, but I think it's worth it.  I can make 125G a day selling Skyfire Diamonds and if I have a chance to proc 2, cha'ching!

Where do you find the quest for Xmute mastery?  I found the guy for Elixirs (one of the bird people) but have yet to find the one giving the Xmute mastery.  Can anyone help?

I just got done with taking my micro economics class in college.  If I could only say I learned one thing from that class it would be this...

FOR EVERY ACTION THERE IS A REACTION!!!

Now I know that sounds alot like some law that you learn from science class, but that's what I learned.  What I mean is is that let's just say we could make more than one transmute per day.  The price (like some other guy said here) would go down.  It might go down to the point that we made more money only being able to make one every day, and possibly it might start costing us money to make them.  I wouldn't want to take the chance.

I am currently trying to get the Transmute: Primal Earth to Primal Water. This is really, a good recipe to learn, as a Primal Earth goes from 2-3g on my server, and Primal mana's at about 18-19. Does anyone think this will really cause me to get at least a reasonable sum everyday? Need to start saving up for my Flying mount.

I created this account simply to ask a question. When a transmuter procs.. Why does the transmuter take the procs as his or her own? Correct me if i'm wrong, but if i give the transmuter mats to make say a Primal Might.. it's my mats right? then the procs should also be mine since u cannot procc w/o mats. Am i being too blue-eyed in assuming this or can transmuters procc w/o mats?

I have a few chars with proffs that have long CD:s (spellcloth, shadowcloth and Elixir) and if i proc on someone elses mats.. i think it's only natural i give them the procs. which i ofc do. Am i to be considered stupid since i give them what is theirs in my eyes and not charge what the procced item would cost at the AH?

My question is therefore: Who do the procced items belong to?

your giving mats for 1 transmute...if it happens to make more than one...I say transmuter has the right to keep the extras. Remember it's on a 24 hour cooldown and that person is losing one day of transmuting to make that for you. Odds of making more than one are far and few in between.
