You need a minimum of 330 to fish here, so be sure to bring plenty of lures.  Need 400+ to fish reliably, but the occasional fish will still get away until 425.

30 minutes fishing with 400 fishing skill (with pole and lure)

OK, but what level are the local beasties?

They are in the high 40s to low 50s... But once you get to the cave there arent any around.

I have noticed lvl 60+ Alli like to log off there, they can give you a start when they pop back on. (Lightninghoof Server)

There is an elite 52nd level non-aggressive turtle that goes in and out of the cave.  As a 54th level mage I found him an easy kill and he drops greens.

Scalebeard's Cave is on the Kalimdor side of the world located in The Bay of Storms in Azshara.  The cave coordinates are 54,48.

There is no immediate threat from baddies, but there is a 52 elite non-agressive turtle (Scalebeard) who can be near the cave.  Getting to the cave can be difficult if you can't handle low 50s Elites by yourself.  A little bit of smart navigation and you can steer clear of the aggressive residents of this area.

If you are coming here to fish, be sure to bring lures because the zone requires higher level fishing. (possibly 330+).  To increase your chances of fishing up the Large Raw Mightfish, be sure to stand in the mouth of the cave so that the area comes up as Scalebeard's Cave and not The Bay of Storms.  Oh and one other important thing to remember to bring is a whole lot of patience.  You may have to camp here a couple of nights and fish over a few days to make the trip worth while.
