Oh and to the A$$hole pally that rolled need on this.  You are a douchebag.  Any item that drops in a raid is rolled on as need or greed... it doesn't matter if it's boe, bop, "sells for 2000000g".  This is the defualt rule if in the case it hasn't been discussed.  You would be correct to roll on it ONLY if a discussion took place that "all boe items are a free-for-all regardless of need".  The mage clearly can roll need as he could use this full time.  You certainly have no need for it, and are a bitch for rolling on it.  If he spreads the truth that you are a ninja, this would be justified.

it dropped today and pally rolled need on it over lock and mage and won and equiped it said he can use it, he got instantly ignored by everyone and kicked from group.

pallies totaly dont need this, its an absolute waste, all your offensive spell casts r instant. god.
ppl like that selfish and stupid dont have place in this game, u will waste a best mage/lock weapon in the game just to feel good about yourself? i hope every pally reading this realise it!

You are partially right. As a pally I dont think its that much beneficial. If it procs it would be nice for a heal, but you can get blades just as good as far as Damage and Healing and will have stats on this.

I'm a pally and would more than likely pass on it.

depending on your paladin's spec, he was either a simple ninja, or "half right", but didn't think his decision to roll all the way through when he saw epic and went into what I like to call a "purple haze"

if he was holy or retribution, he's either just ninjaing or he's woefully stupid.  cuz there is absolutely no valid use either spec would have for this that constitutes "need", it might slightly help him with an offset of gear for grinding if he's holy, but that's it.

if he's protection, that's another matter.  I have a 70 protection paladin myself, and I can tell you, virtually 100% of competant paladin tanks do their tanking with a spell damage caster weapon.  if your group would like to enjoy the AOE tanking goodness that is a pally holding 7 elites at once, he's gonna need to pump up that spell damage for nice juicy holy shield blocks and consecration ticks.  so for the spell damage, especially if his was very low and he did not have any caster weapon, he might legitimately believe this to be a good tanking weapon for him.  that said, he obviously did not think his roll all the way through, as this thing has no stats, notably no stamina, and the proc is useless to him, as all the spells a paladin uses to tank are instant, making this weapon enormously inferior for him to 70 blues such as the continuum blade, crystalforged sword, or mana wrath, or the honor hold/thrallmar epic caster swords.  were it me, I'd not roll need on this over a DPS caster who needed it, but depending on his gear, it might not really qualify as ninjaing.

Did you even read the guy's post, he said another pally tried to ninja it so the whole party rolled need. And the mage isnt spreading a rumor he's a ninja, he's saying he uses hacks because he rolled a 97

Actually pallies need a spelldamage wep as holy to level/farm/pvp and need a spelldamage wep to tank. I'd take this on my lock or pally.

i hate pally bashing cuz i am one. but your right.

as a protection pally the spell damage would be great for threat. but because of the spell haste it not worth rolling on over a lock or a mage. it screems their name to much

if i was retribution it be a waist of time. i want a 2h for more dps and cuz i can't dual weild.

if i was holy i would laugh/cry cuz a a rare(blue) healing mace would have better plus healing on it.

in the end there is no reson as a pally i or any pally should want to roll on it. this just screems DPS caster.

to the douche who said pally's dont need this!! i can't tell you how many times i've posted a similar explaination on a pally tanks threat.  a pally's threat is built on HOLY damage, which is MAGIC for you r-tard's. a good tankadin, in order to get and hold aggro off dps crazy mages and locks, +spell damage needs to be between 200-250 for reg runs and +300 for heroics. so for all you moaners "he took my sword!!", shut up and start giving pally tanks the respect they deserve.

The vast vast majority of harmful paladin spells are instant cast and so won't benefit from the proc. If you want it for the spell damage then there are much better ones.
It doesn't proc on healing spells, and it's 1H so if it'll gimp your melee DPS if you try it, so the only way I can possibly imagine this would be useful for a paladin is for a hybrid tank/healer that casts healing spells when it procs, which is a ridiculous corner case.

I think it's safe to say if you're a paladin and think you have equal precedence to a primary spellcaster on this then you're either a ninja or deluded.

Could it be that the Pally in question has a Mage alt? I wasn't at the fight, but that would be the only reason he could role for this. My main is a Pally and i have a Mage alt that would be thrilled to get this gem.

            Just my 2c

You should never be rolling for alts. That's just stupid. Your alt isn't there. Your pally is. If there's a Mage or Warlock (or Shadow Priest) in the group, not a chance can you claim your alt needs this so deserve to roll.

              That's just stupid.

Youre right, Pala's need +dps. But the Blade of Wizardry is definatly not AMong Tankadin, or DPS-adin weapons. A Tankadin would need a much heavier sword with way more Stamina, more damage, and either agility or defence rating, this sword is made for one thing and one thing a lone.

          "Casting Ranged spells"

And even so, not a good sword at that, better to farm a Gladiator war staff
