Everyone in Outland is cool anyway, so the coolness factor won't apply there. Also with everyone lagging in Shattrath anyway they won't even see your mount ("Huh, what did I just saw, a chicken?" *lagged away*). Just imagine standing with this in Orgrimmar tho with all the noobs who just got their level 40 mount at level 55 looking up to you. :P

I want this, prolly never going to get this. This is one of those items you only get when you're really, REALLY lucky. Unfortunately that's mostly the biggest assholes on the server, too, instead of the really nice ones that deserve a reward now and then.

the best mount ever.got 2day about 1:15 after getting out of school from fakeing sick but man am i glad i did.its the coolest looking mount hands down and where ever u go every1 iz looking at me.plus every1 else follows me arround asking how 2 get it.

Technically you're riding Anzu given the fact this mount looks exactically like. So if you have this mount it means you made the Raven'lord your bitch

This mount was probably created so more people would want to help the druids with their quests because they can get a reward themselves.

Yes, it can only be done if a druid has the epic flight form quest or if they already completed it and have the orb thing (can't remember what it's called) to summon Anzu.

Ok, since I usually come here to troll and check the Deathcharger forum of thottbot, Ill pitch this idea to ya'll.

In the past week, in my guild 2, yes 2 lucky farks have gotten the raven lord...since having none drop since it has been out.

Now, it may sounds far fetched but I believe that ALL rare mounts are now a 1 in 100 drop chance, its not out of the realm of possibility, but this is just a thought.

What I stated before could be pure, shear, awe-inspiring luck..

I just soloed Anzu as a level 80 restoration druid. I stealthed in to the instance to Anzu, touching no mobs. I then used the soothe animal ability on 'Cobalt Serpent', to get in range of orb to activate the boss fight. Once spawned, I stood in the position shown in the screenshot, then just used the 2 macro's which activated the Eagle Spirit (aoe damage) and Falcon Spirit (haste) with rejuvenation spell for the entire fight.

Doing this took 40 minutes to kill him without directly hitting him (The timer shown in screenshot was started at 50% health, finishing the fight at the 20min mark).

During this time Anzu never moved from his spawn spot, at 66% and 33% health, he did NOT banish and didn't call down the bird adds. Once I got him down to 5k health, I hit with star/moonfire to kill him (just incase i wouldn't get credit for the kill (Note: at that point he became aggro and attacked me)).

Unfortunately after this 40 minute effort, he didn't drop the mount.

My fiance and I are on our 46th run as of later today. Since we ran it in BC quite a few times, I lost track.. more than likely we are between our 46th-55th run, maybe more, but likely not. Not once have we seen it. None of my Guildies have it, nor friends. Now he and I multi-box it with my Druid who can summon Anzu, as we're 80. He knows how badly I want it, and is going to pass the Reins to me. :D

As drop rates can't be trusted, it's hard to keep faith not knowing how much chance we really have. But we keep running it daily, and are not going to miss another unless we utterly have to. After all, it's only once a day.

I'm wondering how many of you who got it, when did you get it... During BC, during Lich? Approximately how many runs did it take you? I'm curious! And how many others have it on your server? For us, I've seen 8.

For those of you still farming it, may luck be with us. That's all it really is based on after all. I will keep you all posted, I hope those of you who're after it do the same!

Since BC I've run Sethekk close to 60 times, well over half that number has been since I've been 80. I do it everyday either solo or with a Paladin friend since soloing it is painfully long, it takes 40 minutes of hots to kill Anzu, that does not include the time it takes to stealth through and kill King Ikiss to get some easy cash and open the back door.

I run this everyday, no matter what. I'll update WHEN I get him.

Anzu dropped TODAY. And 1 hour later Baron's mount dropped. 101 runs on Baron, 3 months on Anzu.

I am trying to make the "Mountain'o Mounts" achievement (100 mounts). I got 91 mounts now, including Blizzcon mount, Amani War Bear, 3 rare drops that you see in the picture, Plague proto-drake from Glory of the raider, Green Proto-Drake and red Proto-drake.

Got all possible reputation mounts, and all PvP mounts aswell , except the 2 Hala talbuks.

It finally dropped for me last night after 39 runs! Worth every run! Takes commitment and patience more than anything, it was worth every run! I have wanted this mount since I first saw it.

Reins of the Raven Lord is gray now... guess this means that hoggers loot table must have been expanded!

Since so many have been complaining about the dropchance and what the actual properbility is to obtain it(in theorie after 100 runs, but thats not happening right?)
Therefore i've made a program to actually test this.

First i needed to find out, if 1% drop chance actual is 1% drop chance, the programm did a run through an fake instance, with 1% chance to get a drop.Did it 50 000 times.It dropped 498 times, so 1% dropchance actually is 1 dropchance.Hurray.

More interisting would be to know, how big my chances are to have obtained Ravenlord after X runs, i made it keep doing runs, until it dropped and then saving the data, how many times it had to do the run, before it dropped.
It did 1 million runs(6 hours...) and dropped about 10000 times.(the more runs, the more accurate).

But before you look at the results, we need to clarify something about the chances.Since the dropchance really is 1 out of 100 as shown above, its far more likely for a person to get his drop in the first 100 runs, than getting it after 1000 runs.
Because:Doing 1000 runs without a drop is even more unlikely,the highest non-drop streaks were about 750-900 runs, after that, it just started to drop.
This means, that it's more likely to drop sooner than later, since the high-nondrops actually are more unlikely to achieve.


The results were:
After 10 runs your chance to have dropped Ravenlord is:9,81%
After 20 runs:18,41%
After 30 runs:26,54%
After 40 runs:33,47%
After 50 runs:39,56%
After 60 runs:45,43%
After 70 runs:50,8%
After 80 runs:55,72%
After 90 runs:59,67%
After -100- runs:63,83%
After 110 runs:67,43%
After 120 runs:70,8%
After 130 runs:74,05%
After 140 runs:76,5%
After 150 runs:79,99%
The last 20% drops are somewhere between 151 and 1000 runs.

As you can see, after 10 runs,your properbility to have dropped the mount is nearly what it should be:10 runs=9,81%(nearly 1 to 100.)
But its decreasing, after 50 runs, your chance is on 39,56% and not 49,56%, its decreasing because:When they get the mount dropped, they stop doing the instance, thats why the most drops are sooner than later, every drop has the same chance, but there is 0% chance for dropping at run 50, if it allready dropped at 49, the thought up "streak" is over.

What this means:
In this diagramm, you are too.Allthough i cant predict or determine when you will get the drop, i still know that you are somewhere on this list, in one of these numbers.The drops here, are the same as they would happen in wow.Thats just have properbility in our world works.
So which number are you?If you havent started the instance, you could be any of these numbers.
Nearly 10% of all people trying, will get the mount after 10 runs and 80% would at least have it after 150 runs.
So if you have done 11 runs, you KNOW you arent in the first 10% of the drops.That means, you only have to "search" the last 90% of the drops after your "number".And after 150 runs, only 20%.
It might sound odd to funktion like this, but in the big picture, of all combined runs and drops, it makes perfectly sence to view your runs like this.
Allthough there is a 0,0000001(etc.)procent chance that you will never get the drop, but that's incredible unlikely, it's more likely that you are a part of this diagram, and therefor actually should keep on running the instance after 150 mindraping runs, since you are going into the last 20%.
So actually, properbility wise(in the big picture), its more likely you get the mount, if you allready have done alot of runs.

I've done 6 runs myself.

And no, it hasn't dropped.

i was gonna get on here and qq about my near 3 months of everyday farming for it with no drop, then i saw the 135 day grind mentioned up there, and decided against it.
