Confirmed. I checked here just out of curiousity; to see where others were fishing and I just happened to be standing on the exact spot you mentioned, so I continued fishing and caught my Ferales Ahi at the exact same co-ordinates as you did. Off to Desolace now. ;)

Just to confirm, minimum requirements for this quest are Level 35, fishing skill 225. Nothing less.

Well worth doing as with BC, there are some really sweet fish recipes in Outland!

- Caught Ser'theris Striker at 26,76 in Desolace.
(note, while in Desolace, you may want to take a breathing pot with you and swim under water, opening the traps until you get your Big Iron Fishing Pole... +20 fishing, took me 40 mins, so have patience)

- Caught the Savage Coast Blue Sailfin at 26,20 in STV

- Caught the Misty Reed Mahi Mahi at 78,95 in SoS. (3rd cast!)

  Those coordinates don't really matter, as long as it says "Savage Coast" or whatever the place is you'll be able to catch them. Drop rates ain't that bad;
  STV: 5th , SoS: 27th (sigh), Feralas: 10th, Desolace: 1st (woot ;p). Not so bad quest after all.

    Confirming, Korkki is right. I was on the isle just in front of the Booty bay with that goblin statue with hands risen, catched around 30 fishes, few escaped, no drop. As moved north at the nagas, still very south in STV and "Southern Savage Coast" was written on the top of the minimap, I've cought the Blue Salfin in third try.

to bad, the horde get a quest fishing pole in the hinterlands that gives +25 fishing so we don't have to bother with getting the +20 fishing pole :P

Umm, I went to 26.76 like you said so. But I fished 3 times and caught the frog thing for the quest. I stood on the shore the whole time as well.

You can catch the blue sailfin at 26,69 which is just outside Booty Bay. There isn't a favoritism. Just read the quest and you can catch it in the Savage Coast. It just so happens that 26,69 is the Southern Savage Coast.

These are great directions. Only thing I want to add is that I got the Iron Rod in a shellfish trap at 21.81.

Those coordinates are DEAD ON!!!! It took me no more than 7 catches at each location! I was in awe. Also, I was doing this quest at almost midnight (server time) so I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. One more thing, at the Vertantis River in Feralas the Nightfin Snappers drop really well at night....Happy hunting (or in this case Fishing...lol)

all coordinates confirmed...gj on jottign them down,,,feralas and SOS took me the most around 20 casts the other 2 i got within the first 3 casts...gl and gf...

Caught each one pretty quick.... although I spent 3 hours opening the traps yesterday and got nothing... logged out at the edge of the water, logged in today and the first one I got the big iron fishing pole.... gutting but at least I got it :)

I caught my fish in feralas, using the "shiny bauble" bait after 15/20 catch, then I used the "aquadynamic fish attractor" and catch the fish in shadowprey village at first cast, then the fish in stranglethorn at second cast; i ran to stonard (within the 10 minutes of spell) and catch the fourth fish at first catch.

so, if you are engineer made a couple of "aquadynamic fish attractor", else buy it when you find from a vendor ;)
