Okkk. Here is the deal. Was in kara a couple nights ago, and we 1-shot attumen!! /cheer. and these gloves dropped. I had the gloves that do +39 shadow dmg, and about 25 int and stam, i dono name. I was the only lock in the raid(these are clearly lock gloves) and i was like OMFG ima get these, badass. when our HOLY priest, GM's close friend, decided he wanted these and wanted to go shadow. Now I'm not really complaining or anything, but I was just hoping for some feedback about if these gloves are actually good for shadow priests, and if it should be a lock's no matter what, as blizz obviously intended them to be. (I get next caster epic i want, so I want to see if this was a blessing in hiding, or a ninja) :D

    thanks for your time,

Hey mate i just wanted to post a quick response to your question and throw a few thoughts into the fray..

Ok First of all two most suited classes imo for these gloves would well and truly have to be Affliction Locks and Shadowpriests. (However lots of other classes cld utilise these very well with socket combinations so not specially for only those two)

I roll a raiding shadowpriest on Duskwood and i can tell you after examining loot tables through to (the eye) in depth these are well and truly a (raiding) shadowpriests best choice. Unfortunatly blizzard hasnt accomadated tier 4,5 and even 6 gear for shadowpriests and very few skillfull shadowpriest will have any concern for any of them. Basically showpriests look for near identical stats. Shadowpriests focus has to be damage so these gloves are perfect (socketed with 2 x runed living rubies [9dmg]) Spellhit a very critical stat again for pve raiding especially and finally intellect and stam the 2 primary stats a shadowpriest will be looking for. Reasoning.

-Spelldamage. Obviously more damage directly, but also more mana and health regen for the party through VE and VT.
-Spellhit. Critical stat for raiding as the mobs become more resistant and higher levels, for a shadowpriests dots to be resisted means alot of mana lost as both are highly expensive and unfortunatly we dont get lifetap :(
Stam and Int are pretty obvious important for any casters.

The reason the gloves standout ahead of others is no crit (near useless for a pve shadowpriest) and the best possible + Damage On gloves VS attainability.

But given your situation id be a little shitted about someone taking gear for a class they intend to respec to when your contributing to the raid as the class you are and seeking what you do want. Not even getting to roll in ten man is pretty low but these things will happen and smile because they're from attumen and you'll see them lots!

However try and understand blizzard doesnt seem to understand what pve shadowpriests hunt for stat wise as is evidence of our tier gear but i would hold your tongue before specifcly claiming these for your class and no1 elses.

Also considering your raiding, aim for the benifit of the raid and consider wether you will be upgrading later in khara with tier 4 anyways so in hindsight it would be a generous and benificial pass for your raid and boosts your chances / dkp (should you use it) on snagging the piece you might really be hunting for.
