draenei looked freaking hideous in WC3. Like retarded fish frogs with inverted whale teeth. I would like to know why they look so pretty in WoW. Also, why is Archimonde on top of Mt. Hyjal just chillin'? I coulda sworn he got owned by Malfurion and his wisp buddies. But whatever.
Thottbot > Comments > Creatures > Archimonde
yeah and in the history says that Sargeras offered the three leader of the eredar race, Kil'Jaeden, Archimonde, and Velen untold power against their loyalty. then Velen ran off with som Exiled One, or Draenai. then Sargeras turned the eredar to demons. (they're bigger and got red skin som of em).

Doomfire - Leaves a trail of fire on the ground, which does 2400 fire damage per second (occasionally feared people run into these and die) Illidan Shear: Reduces the maximum HP of the target by 5%. Stacks 19 times. Noted by jumping away and diving back towards the target. Flame Crash: Illidan leaps into the air and returns suddenly igniting the ground beneath him, staying out of the fire is vital. Soul Drain; Illidan sucks the soul from a raid member, causing high damage and healing him for 100,000hp. So Which is Harder? O_O
Everyone having at least a mediocre knowledge about Warcraft history will immediately know that Archimonde is BY FAR the mightiest boss in the game. Illidan wouldn't stand a chance against him.
Why would they quit? Bliz would come up with some kind of paradox so that Arthas lives somehow, like with Kel'thuzad, Archimonde still technically dies from the wisps in past Hyjal so that part of Lore stays the same, Illidan dies from Maiev's hand which I could imagine happening since Bliz screwed him saying he went insane after Arthas beat him.
Okay here is the story on the Burning Legion as a whole:
Sargeras was a titan chosen by the elite titans(Pantheon) to rid the worlds of demons. Eventually Sargeras basically went insane from encountering countless demons and gradually suffering their corruption and went bad. In his adventure of doom :D, he found a advanced society of humanoids called Eredar. Now he was recruiting demons for a mass army to destroy everything now and, was impressed by the Eredar so he made an offer to the three leaders of the Eredar: Archimonde, Kil'Jaeden, and Velen. He told them he would give them untold power if they joined his Burning Crusade. So Archimonde and Kil'jaeden agreed, HOWEVER, Velen did not. Velen gathered the eredar that believed in his motives and left Argus, their home planet. They called themselves draenei, in their language, Exiled Ones. Sargeras gave the power to Archimonde, Kil'Jaeden and the other Eredar and the Eredar turned to demons. Archimonde and Kil'jaeden became Sargeras's top lieutenants. Now about the Lich King having power over them the idiot that said that is a NOOB! The Lich King was basically created by Kil'jaeden. Here is the story on that: As you know the orcs cheifs agreed to aid the Burning Legion by destroying Azeroth since Medivh (who had been possessed by Sargeras) offered that he would open Dark Portal if they destroyed Azeroth and the demons corrupted them. HOLD ON INTERRUPTING THE STORY MUST SAY SOMETHING BOUT SARGERAS. Hes dead. The Guardian Aegwynn killed him. Although his spirit bonded with her unborn son, Medivh. OKAY BACK TO THE STORY. So blah blah blah blah the First War happened then the Second War etc etc etc. Now after the Dark portal is closed! Ner'zhul, the elder shaman knew that since they failed to destroy Azeroth, the Burning Legion would be pissed. So he sent the orcs to Azeroth to get Artifacts that would let him open new portals to other worlds to escape the burning legion's wrath. So the orcs did that, but the Humans chased them through the Dark Portal and the big battle etc etc Ner'zhul escapes with some orcs through one of his porals and... KABLAJAM! Draenor blows up most of the world is destroyed, all that remains is what is now known as Outland. Now Ner'zhul's plan didnt work so well, Kil'jaeden caught him anyways, and tortured him etc etc and turns him into the Lich King! Yay! Kil'jaeden sends the Lich King to azeroth to prepare Archimonde's invasion of the world. And thats it.....oh yeah, the Lich king broke free of Kil'Jaeden when Archimonde and half of the Burning Legion was wiped out in the Battle of Mount Hyjal and his jailors, the Nathrezim (also known as Dreadlords) were killed by Arthas. Hoped that educated a few of you :D

"archimonde the defiler" one of most powerfull hero in warcraft lore. hes an eredar (warlock btw). left hand of GOD sargeras (other one is kil'jeaden). he destroyed dalaran. if u play w3 or read wowwwiki u'll be see what illidan did to kil'jaeden (ran away to outlands like a chicken). archimonde = kil'jaeden. illidan is a wanker. yes he looks cool with his twin blades of azzinoth (prolly thats why he got a lot fan). hes nothing w/o his nagas (lady vash), blood elves (kael'theas) and stupid dreaneies (akama). again, if u play w3 or read wowwiki u'll be see how he lied to all his followers. he didnt get them to help him with his POWER. he lied at all. he wake up nagas for their help. he knew about blood elves how hungry to magic. he lied to kael "i'll give u magic etc.." then he lied (freedom to draneies) and helped to akama to beat magtheridon. when they beat magth illidan just killed every drenei in shadowmoon and made BT as his EQ (watch blizz's the black temple movie). i know my english sucks but u should understand :D

When i first looked at this, i thought "WTF.. you can't kill archimonde..", but then i realized how the fight actually goes.
Even though the Infinite Dragonflight isn't in the battle, they were secretly tampering with the outcome. The dragonflight apparently altered the timeline to cause the wisps summoned by malfurion to come too late. The fight starts with archimonde beggining to drain the world tree. So you need to stop him or else he'l destroy it without anything to stop him. After he is "defeated", the wisps swarm around him and destroy him just like they did in wc3.
Archimonde Dies cause MalFurion Nuked the World Tree With wisps Lol (just like the post above said),
even tho it look like it in the end of WC3: TFT, Illidan doesnt die, kael heals him with magic. If u didnt know Sageras "Technically" gave Illidan his Powers because Illidan found "The Eye of Sageras" From Sageras's Tomb which Gul'dan rose from the sea. Accually... Theres 2 reason Illidan is "The Betrayer" Since He Betrayed both The NE and The Burning Legion (Kil'Jeadan). And Archimonde Destroyed Dalaran by Building a Sand Castle (with his demon magic) ^^ :P and destroying it. Anyways Archimonde Would Rape Illidan, even tho im a Illidan Fan lol xP
Seriously... Have you played the Warcraft III The Reign of Chaos without cheats..? You don't seem to know anything about it atleast some of you. First, Illidan, with a new plan spurred into his mind, journeyed to Zin-Azshari. There he feigned allegiance to Azshara and Mannoroth. Illidan's plan was to obtain the Demon Soul, an artifact of great power created by Deathwing, which had the ability to close the portal which was allowing the demons to enter Kalimdor. However to put this plan in action, Illidan had to gain more power.
So, Illidan was taken to Sargeras, the Destroyer of Worlds. Sargeras "gifted" Illidan by gouging his eyes out of his head, and replacing then with orbs of mystical fire, which let him to see all arcane powers in the world... BUT that's not the way he gained his demonic powers... After the Burning Legion invasion had started and Tyrande Whisperwind had set Illidan free to fight amongst them against the Legion, Illidan was ordered to seize the demonic portal from spawning more demons in the Azeroth. He knew he could not destroy Tichondrius, (the greatest Burning Legion dreadlord agents) but he took the mission and set up the base camp near the portal. When he was fully settled and started fightning the demons and satyrs, he suddenly met the now-corrupted Dead Knight Arthas, who told him that the demons were protecting a powerful artifact called The Skull of Gul'dan. (or was it Guldan..?) Anyway. He didn't trust the Death Knight, but he had to convince himself, and so he ventured to the mountain where Skull of Gul'dan was held by mindles
Yeah continuing the story :P
by mindles pawns of the Legion. Illidan quickly destroyed all the demons guarding the Skull and consumed its powers and adding them to his. He became a Demon Night Elf. Then he killed Tichondrius with ease and seized the portal. But when Furion Stormrage and Tyrande Whisperwind arrived to the spot, they saw that Illidan was corrupted by the powerful demonic magics of the Skull of Gul'dan (Just as you know, Gul'dan was a powerful orc warlock) and then Furion banished Illidan away from his home and beloved ones.

Malfurion Stormrage has been trapped inside the Emerald Dream now for some time, and has reported in scarce visions to Remulos that there is a great, dark evil trying to consume the realm. Malfurion has remained there to combat the spreading malicious force, and it is whispered in hush tones and chilling reverence that the contagion is actually Archimonde. Some say that the demon had managed to use the power he gained from Nordrassil to leave his physical body and transport himself into the Emerald Dream.
Whether Archimonde is the cause for the Dream's slow decay remains to be seen. However, it is more likely that the Old Gods are the ones responsible for this disruption, as this slow corruption is far more their style than Archimonde's.

If I'm playing WoW and my character is being roasted alive by Archimonde's numerous fire AoE attacks and such, the last thing I should care about (to some extent), is how Archimonde lost to Chuck Norris in an arm-wrestling contest or how he saw Illidan naked in the shower. It's all a bunch of stuff blizzard made up so they could put a 10-story-tall-pinkish-purple-octopus-man-hybrid on top of a mountain and nobody would question why. It's good to know why a 10-story-tall-pinkish-purple-octopus-man-hybrid is trying to murder you, but is it really going to help you in the game?
Whoa. Sorry about that. I just kind of got carried away. I stick by my statements in the previous paragraph (regardless of how little sense it may make). My point leads to the following: Soon, we will be able to kill Archimonde or Illidan, and they will drop some honest-to-god kick-ass gear.

Each player he kills then restores 5,000 health, gives him 1% more damage and health, increases all his stats by 2%, and gives him 50% faster cast time, along as 50% more likely to attack the raid healers. Also, makes him more likely to cause Death Coil. Lasts 50 seconds. Non-dispellable. Type: Magic The End. Those are the endgame bosses. I guesses Arthas's statistics, so let's see. People face the fact. Archimonde is an Eredar who recieved untold power from the dark titan Sargeras, the destroyer of worlds. Illidan gained power from the skull of Gul'dan, everyone who knows a little about the lore will know that Gul'dan was an aprentice of Kil'Jaeden, so in theory Archimonde is stronger than Illidan, because Archimonde is a fragment of the titans power while Illidan is a fragment of Kil'jaedens power. Do not tend to forget that Gul'Dan was killed by the dark titans shade in the tomb of Sargeras, so if a mere shade of Sargeras power can kill a being in Gul'dans power, there is no telling what a fragment of his power can do.. Well there is a proof what a "fragment" of his power can do. The eye of Sargeras. An artifact that can creative a massive earthquake anywhere. Illidan made an attempt to get rid of the Lich King in a cowardly way, which failed.
Now many of you see Archimondes death to be a little pathetic because it was whisp who killed him. Yea lvl 1 mere "weak" whisp. But you tend to overlook the fact that even tho these whisp are easily killed, they hold ancient powers and mysteries yet untold. By the artifact, Horn of Cenarius they were summon to rise up against this burning shadow, and so did nature herself rise up against the evil. My dear friends, Archimonde was not destroyed by mere whisp, but by an ancient power. You also tend to forget that Illidan has a certain fear of the Eredar. In the Frozen Throne he is running from Kil'Jaeden which is just as powerful as Archimonde, if not stronger. When they finally confront Illidan comes up with plenty of pathetic excuses to let Kil'Jaeden spare him. Frankly Kil'Jaeden was foolish enough to give him a last chance. The fact is that Archimonde is stronger than Illidan, lorewise ofc. I never raided those 2 guys so i cant tell which one of these two are the hardest. But if it were a competition of which one were the coolest i would say Illidan, mostly because of his unique fightingstyle. As for Arthas, I dont believe he can "own" Archimonde nor Kil'Jaeden, because the soul of Ner'zhul aka Lich King is a creation of Kil'jaeden. So far the Lich Kings powers are the same, just that he has a body now. Re: Archimonde by Jezreel, Score 0.69

Just to add to what Vorkaz said earlier about why Illidan is called "The Betrayer". It's not only because he betrayed the Burning Legion and the Nelves, but if you remember, he betrayed his brother, Malfurion, by reverting to his demonic form, after pledging loyalty to Demon-hunting.
After Tyrande released him from his prison by subduing Maiev Shadowsong, he went into the forest to help fight against the Burning Legion, met Arthas, who told him about the Skull of Gul'dan (Drop from Illidan) that was responsible for corrupting the forest. He fights his way to the skull, then is overcome with desire for power, takes it and is transformed into a demon. (Sprouts horns, wings, etc.) Then, with his newfound power, kills Tichondrius, then is banished by Malfurion. Quote from the pre-mission cintematic: "I'll show my brother that the demons have no hold over me" and then later when he sees the skull, "Yes. The power SHOULD be mine." The Lich King would have a great chance of killing Achimonde, even if you take the level diffrence out. First off when Arthas fought Illidan he was at his weakest, the power which substained him (Ner'zul's) where almost all gone, he was literally starting to fall apart, yet he still trumped Illidan in a one on one, so that means Arthas at lets say 20%-25% is stronger than Illidan at 100%.
Also if you think about all the new lore changes (beings able to give the power to control Light, or being able to enslave elements, etc) then that means the combined Arthas and Ner'zul are going to be almost unstopable, Arthas was a Paladin in life and a Deathknight in death, Ner'zul was a orc warrior who became a shaman, who when corrupted became a warlock, and who in eternal death became a lich. The sheer amount of knowledge of spells and abilities the Lich King has now is overwhelming. On top of all that the time spent in the frozen throne amplified a warlocks already potent physic abilities to god like levels, he can drive creatures mad anywhere on Azeroth, and at close range can actually exert powerful telekinesis abilities (as seen and experienced first hand by Kel'thuzad), he also has the ability to read minds, AND on top of all that has outsmarted Kil'Jaden at least once (and the Deceiver has brought down dozens of worlds with his plans). So The new Lich King, can theoretically control (granted he enslaves a Naaru and a few elementals, which can and has been done, numerous times) Light, Shadow, Fire, Frost, and Nature. Arcane is the only school of magic we dont know if he knows, but almost 15 years later it would be childs play to absorb the knowledge of a mage or two, and on top of all that he is a very skilled hand to hand fighter. There isn't a doubt in my mind that even the combined forces of Illidan and Archimonde would have a hell of a time brining him down (in a lore sense anyway).

Allow me to explain the story.
Minleneas ago the eredar were a peaceful race and lived on there homeworld of argus, they were powerful weilders of magic, whihc caught the attention and impressed sargeras a titan that held power imagenable. Sageras came down from the twisting nether and offered the 3 eredar leaders velen, archimonde and kil'jaeden untold power in exchange for loyalty to the new burning legion (do to the fact he was deeply impressed in thier current abilitys). Archimonde and Kil'jaeden immeadiatly accepeted the offer but velen didnt accept it in a concerning vision. Later velen used his powers to see the future and saw how sargeras was trying to use ARchimonde and Kil'jaeden as leaders of the burning legion and had relized how much destruction this would bring the whole cosmos. Note: that sargeras not only offered the leaders of the eredar untold power, but also the residents of there base on argus. Another note is that there are 2 eredar types the wrathguard and man'ari, the man'ari being the supreme type and wrathguard lesser honor guards for the legion. Continueing the story... In a rush Velen tryed his best to convince of what was really going on and were able to leave safefully with there new alligance with the light born race the naaru seeing and also going against what Sargeras was really doing. The eredar under Velen's order were now called dreani (called exiled onesin eredun the legions offical language also known as demonic). Mean while Sargeras had corrupted and turning half of the eredar race into demons. Kil'jaeden thinking Velens leave was a betrayel to the eredar nation went into a blinded rage and chased the diamond naaru ship of oshu'gun( which today in WoW is siting in nagrand)throughout the cosmoes. This was when kil'jaeden and archimonde received there titles <The Deciever> and the <The Defiler>. Yet Velen and the naaru were more cunning than Kil'jaeden and instantly disappeared in a flash. Note: that while Kil'jaeden was on the chase at the dreani and naaru he encountered quite a few planets a long the way and stopped by most of them and corrupted some of the inhabitants into demons...
