Confirmed.. took longer then a few seconds though, I waited for a minute.. then he just died :D

Fantastic, after 1.5-2min he just dies! confirmed! it works! this baby can't warp next to you because of the walls :D so he just keeps bugging!

this really works. just make sure you give him a few hits to keep aggro and to loot the worm, of course.

Thank you for this piece of advice. I believe at 65 I may have been able to solo this thing as I am Druid, but there was no need to put up a fight when he dies in moments with the above mentioned tactic.

I ran him over to the outter wall where there was an archway with rocks out in front of it, and he just stood at the rocks and then magically died 4 seconds later.

Lol wow, I just did this.  You bring a cleft hoof as close to auch as you can (keeping it in the bone valley place) and kill it.  Summon huge worm, hit him a couple times to make him mad, and run into auch, around the corner, to break line of sight.

He apparently can't come into auch, and just sits on the other side of the wall, angry.  In about a minute... he just dies.  Big angry heart attack or something.

Nice find man!  Could not find help for this quest... now I got my dagger lol.


Be careful though, try to get behind the wall asap.  His poison does 2200 damage, and his melee is nothing to laugh at either.  But as long as you can make it to the other side of the wall... you're gold.

Just did this on my druid, worked fine but did have to do it 6 times before the elite came up. He hits hard so stay away from him or your dead solo, he does stop at the top  of the ramp and just around the corner is out of his attack area so there you are safe.

I've found this only works if you do a decent amount of damage. Just running around the corner isn't going to do it. Pop out and hit him a few times with ranged and then go back and bandage if needed. It's really easy to get him down to about 50% in the two minutes without getting hit much.

As a 65 hunter alt, I just sent in my pet, healed him, fired a few rounds, and brought back to the safety of the corner when he was getting low on health. I waited until he was all healed up and sent him back in.

I tried the hide around the corner trick twice and both times it died but was couldn't be looted.

Ok, i tried this quite a few times and it still didnt work.

1.i killed the clefthoof and summoned the big bone worm dropped a few dots on it (im lock) and sacrificed my voidwalker so i didnt get killed.

2. i ran down the ramp and behind the wall and stayed there until the big worm died

3. it was dead but i couldnt loot it :(

did it as a 65 mage, i brought him down to 75% and waited for him to die...only thing is he gave 181 exp, but i'm sure it's not a problem since it saves a lot of time.
ps: i looted him, i think the catch is to keep yourself as his target

OMG!!!!! march 8th 2008 and they havent fixed this yet!!! i just killed him this way hahaha

yep just did it it works great but if you are a mage you have to get him close to the ramp or you are screwed.

Looks like they fixed the bug.  I just tried it with my hunter and when the worm would submerge, it would respawn further down the ramp.
