This shield has effectively made shamans a "Plate Armor" class.

Judging by the other Mail armor pieces that drop off the same boss as this shield, we should all get used to the idea that more and more Shamans will be running around with 14-15k armor eventually.

  Of course. Especially since every other shaman is in the guild that clears Mt Hyjal no problem.

    It makes perfect sense that such a little shield has as much armor as the Bulwark.
    
    Blizzard never fails to meet expectations.
    
    Imo, up the stats, leave the armor. Otherwise, and here's a prime example, you get inflation.
