Have you actually tried a raptor before? Sure they have less health and less armour but they make up for this by having massive amounts of damage and with BM this is even greater so you will drop mobs faster than they can kill you. They are similar in all stats and abilities to cats so I don't understand the large ill feeling towards raptors....not that i'm complaining as I like having a slightly unique pet.
To anyone who is thinking of trying a raptor (or cat) and looking to take on 3 mobs at once here is what I do: send your pet in...let him get aggro (don't attack yourself until he gets aggro), send in sting and arcane shot to the mob the pet is attacking and continue to range attack, mend pet, then just as first mob is about to die use multi-shot and you will take aggro from the other two, letting your mend pet heal your pet up, command pet to attack 2nd mob, you attack with raptor strike and lay down immolate trap, the pet will take aggro again then when he is dead the 3rd mob will get aggro to pet then withdraw to range and kill as a single target. Ok so this won't work with mobs a few higher levels than you are but in those cases you need to be more carfeul.
