i guess theyre only going to make death knight hero class for the new expansion
Thottbot > Forums > Classes > Death Knight > General > death k...
well, thats the thing, blizzards not gonna show all their surprises before anything comes out right? but as far as I know, Death Knight is the only Hero Class to come out with the Wrath of the Lich King Expansion pack.
At the moment, as far as the public knows, Death Knight is the ONLY hero class in progress. Blizzard is ofc making several hero classes, but have only let us know about one of them, which is more than enough for everyone.
theres probably gonna be some kind of caster type like...half druid half shaman half mage and half retard
"umm i think that the death knights are going to be like half lock have war and half priest or something"
SWEET!!! 150% OWNAGE!!!11!!ONE!
nah i'd say more like a warrior/lock, think about it, warlocks are essentially shadowmancers, dealing with dead, shadow magic, demons etc. shadow priests are just about the dark arts rather than demonology. just my opinion
Ive heard u get the death knight after a quest u will get at lvl 80. when u have finished the quest u will get an lvl 50-60 deathknigh on ur acc.
Re: class abilities I think they will be Shadow priest/Warrior :=)
Ok, there is this site, called wow-europe.com (or worldofwarcraft.com for US) which tells you a lot about WotLK and its features. -_-
Kids...
Death Knight will be a quest you can get at 80 that what I'm thinking will enable an option to create death knight's in the character selection screen. And from what I've heard is when you make one you'll start out at level 50 or 60. And I think Death Knight will be like a warrior that has spells like mages as in small casting times (scorch, fire blast, rest of their instant casts) and no dots, but I think the spells will be like shadowy like warlocks and spriests
I think that it's going to be a lock/warr no doubt...
Someone told me that you have to do a HUGE chain of quests to become a death knight and once you finish the quest you can log off and the death knight will be there and it will start out as lvl 60 in outlands

To be the first to answer the actual question from the first post, other ones will be other hero's from Warcraft 3. Such as Blade Master and Demon Hunter.
Blizzard never said you had to be 80 to become a deathknight, it just doesn't seem that cool to get all the way through to 80 then level a character again through both expansions. It's probably going to be a level 60 something 70 something quest. Estimated starting level for Death Knight is at minimum of 58, so they can go into Outland (they start off with good gear too)
bliz said you need to be 80 to do the quest and when u unlock them they will be around lvl 50-60
L2readaboutthisshitbeforeyoupostaboutit!!!!!!!
Death nights are going tobe a hero class, meaning a class you unlock by doing a quest, presumably a long/hard one. Also, your deathknight will be created at lvl 60 ( i think, not sure on it ) There will probably be more hero classes JoBrBeWi!
"the death knight class will be ahieved through a long chain of quest at lvl 80 were you can become able to create a death knight at lvl 58-60 and u have 2 break out of stratholme and u start out with gear and a runesword with 3 types of runes frost blood unholy. u can have six of those on your sword at a time and they r used 2 cast spells and atacks. you can mix and match these runes when you are not in combat. the runes will have a cooldown around 10sec for the rune to fade back in and become usable, u will ahve abilities to speed up and instantly make them become usable again. the death knight will fills a hybrid DPS/TANKING. they can where plate and there runes on there sword will be where your mana/rage/energy is on your screen." by Tom Chilton
this was all in Games for Windows magazine there is a huge artical about WOW3 if u want 2 no more.
Ok... I'm a lil conused. I was just on the W.o.W. website and it said nothing about having to be 80 to do a death knight quest or anything about how the rune system is gonna work. It didnt say the lvl at which they start at or even how they attained. The only REAL informatiopn i got outta it was that the death knight was gonna be a lock/warrior type but dont use a shield. It also said yes they will be tanks :P or a hybrid tank of sorts :-P thats the only information Bliz has actually released on wow.com (prob first place to be realesed :P) SO either quite making up crap or tell me where u get the information cause i just dont believ half crap on this form.
Blizzard lies, warlocks are already made
cause as i heard they cant use shields
It's going to be a long quest chain at level 80, once you complete that quest chain you will unlock the hero class that will start at a high level (Not yet released, Assuming it could be level 40-70) The death knight class will be a paladin/warlock, somewhat of a necromancer and will be able to tank using a two-handed weapon, insane... yes.. rediculously overpowered? I hope not... They haven't released much info on the death knight class or whether there will be any other hero classes released with the expansion, the hero class will hopefully be open to all classes once they reach level 80 ( And assuming they have done the quest chain ) and hopefully not a special hero class designed specifically to every pre-WoTLK classes
The inscription profession will be an interesting addition to the expansion from what I can tell you can inscribe melee abilities and spell abilities with things such as 60 poison damage over 10 seconds applied by something like Heroic strike or sinister strike as well as fireball or frostbolt.
You would think they would have to break out of Naxxramas instead? >:)
Confirmed information about the Death Knight:
The Death Knight can be created after you complete a quest chain on one of your pre-existing characters. This gives you the ability to create at least one Death Knight. None of your characters transform into the Death Knight. It has not been confirmed if the Death Knight unlock will be account wide, limited to the server it was unlocked on, or if you will be able to make more than one per quest chain. [EDIT] At least part of the quest will take place on the actual Death Knight character, with the possibility that you may have to escape Stratholme. The Death Knight will start at a significantly higher level than other characters. Most estimates say 58-60. The Death Knight is not allied with the Scourge. Death Knights seek to use their powers against the Lich King, much like Warlocks use their powers against the Burning Legion. So they are allied with whichever race they are. The Death Knight will be available to every race. You do not have to be level 80 to start or finish the quest chain. This was initially the case, but Blizzard later decided to lower the level requirement to make it more accessible. It is likely to be a level 60 quest. [EDIT] It will also not require a group any larger than 5 or 10 people. The Death Knight technically has mana, but it's main ability resource is "runes" which are etched on to your weapon. The runes are cast on your weapon and are exhausted by using abilities. They regenerate themselves over time. The Death Knight is intended to be a tanking AND dps class, much like Warriors, but they lack the ability to use shields.
I have seen enterviews from Wrath of theLich King and bliz was saying that death knight was a hero class that would start at lvl 55-60 and was obtained through a chain of quests. they will be a tank/dps class with rune-based system and they will dual wield or have 2H and they dont need to use shield.
I wonder if the Death Knight will be able to use an ablity like fear, ugh that would suck
my theory: At first it'll be an overpowered class with spell and skills combined of the ones warlocks and warriors use. In other words, you'll be able to pwn all melee classes cos of your plate armor and own the other classes functioning as an Arms warrior with spells similar to the warlocks :/ and then it'll be meganerfed in a week when the nolife wow-nerds who preordered this game for 500 euros as soon as blizz announced they'll make another expansion and then stay home from any possible work/school in order to get to lvl 80 asap ---> all normal wow gamers will be so annoyed the forums will be spammed with complains about the Death knight.
"when the new expansion is gonna come out what is gonna happen to end game stuff like Black Temple and all those really hard lvl 70 instances? wats the point in the "end game" instances when its not gonna be end game anymore? lol..."
Why aren't you asking that about ZG nd Naxx? people will just forget about it and move on, just like Blizzard has with all the past instances.
Anyone play DaoC back in the day? I'd bet dimes to dollars the Deathknights are going to be a lot like the vampires when they came out in Camelot. Every unskilled noob out there will pwn so hard with them that people will cry for them to be nerfed but it will be a while before they're nerfed because when it all comes down to it, it's all about business. So the expansion classes will always be quite overpowered until it's hurting the business because people realize how stupid it is and start to quit, and then and only then will they be nerfed. Just my humble option.
