And yes, I've read the same thread at wowwiki, but I don't agree with them, just because they didn't put in their accounts the most of talents.

Setup:
25% Critical strike chance;
2K AP => +143 DPS => +243 Damage(1.7 dagger's multipler for abilities);
Weapon: 200 Damage(assuming fast OH for 15/41/5 and equal MH and OH for 41/20/0).
Starting with 0 Energy.
Boss fight.
Boss isn't poison-immune.

15/41/5, Backstab:
+40% Critical(65%), +3 Energy/sec(Combat Potency - assuming 1 OH speed), +30%/+36%(***) Damage, 224% Critical strike damage(I don't really think you wanna waste 25 energy on SnD).
30 Seconds(SnD's duration):
+90 Energy => 390 Energy => 6.5 Backstabs.
Backstab damage:
((200+243)*1.5+255)*1.3(1.36)=1195.35(1250.52)
With criticals:
1195.35*(0.35+2.24*0.65)=2158.8(2258.44)
467.74(489.33) DPS.

41/20/0, Mutilate:
+5% Critical(30%), +50% Damage(Poisoned), +10% Damage(Find Weakness buff), one Rupture(*) per 30 seconds, 230% Critical strike damage.
30 Seconds => 5 Mutilates, one-two Ruptures(**).
Mutilate damage:
((200+243)+101+(200+243)*0.75+101)*1.5*1.1=1612.4625
With criticals:
1612.4625(0.3*2.3+0.7)=2241.323
For those who puts in question probability countings because of two separate hits, here you are:
(MH+OH)*(0.49+0.09*2.3)+(MH*2.3+OH)*0.21+(MH+OH*2.3)*0.21=(MH+OH)*(0,49+0.09*2.3+0.21*3.3)=(MH+OH)*1.39
0.49=0.7*0.7 is chanse that NONE of hits will be critical, 0.09=0.3*0.3 - BOTH will be critical, 0.42=1-0.49-0.09 - AT LEAST ONE of them will be critical, the MH and the OH both have 50% to crit if this happens, so probability multipler is 0.21=0.42/2 for each of them.
Rupture damage:
(1000+2K*0.24)*1.1=1628
427.82 DPS.
+One extra Rupture(it lasts 16 seconds, so you can get full damage Rupture, but without Find Weakness buff, or use Envenom in cost of the 10 energy) per 60 sec(**).
452.5 DPS.

I didn't count other abilities(Cold Blood, Vile Poisons, Improved Poisons, Blade Flurry, Vitality, Adrenaline Rush) - I'd say that they are almost equal, heh - there are some other benefits for each spec(like being first to use SnD with Mutilate, or independence from bosses' immunities to poisons with Backstab), but Backstab has better DPS in any case(Combat Potency = Best Talent Ever).  On other hand, you won't find yourself sleeping on keyboard, pressing two buttons with Mutilate spec - it's much funnier and exciting then Backstabing. :p

* - I'd surely prefer Envenom instead of Rupture, but it uses 10 energy, while Rupture doesn't at all, and also calculated Envenom's damage((900+0.15*AP)*1.2=1440+crits) is quite low compared to the real results - there are also some causal debuffs(Mangle, Stormstrike) which can increase these abilities' damage.
** - to get 5 CPs you need two Mutilates <=> 12 seconds, Improved SnD's duration is 30 sec => one time you can use  5CP finishing move. Rupture is affected by the Find Weakness buff because of these 30-24=6 seconds when you do nothing, waiting for SnD to be over. So You start with 60 energy after renewing SnD. It also will result in extra finishing move between SnDes.
*** - (they say) In 2.3.0 Aggression will increase BS's damage aswell.

P.S.: If someone complains about the 5CPs per two Mutilates shit:
(1-0.49*0.49)*100%=76% That two Mutilates will add extra CP;
60% to get CP afer finishing move => 9,6% Chance that you'll have 4 CPs after two Mutilates; Still, there's 80% chance to return 25 energy: ~2% that you will lose 25 energy. Yea, you are right. That's a really big deal. tt
P.P.S.: I'm not playing for over then a half of an year already, so I'd make some mistakes, sorry. :p Everything what was interesting me in WoW was it's math(really awesome job, Blizzard ;) ), heh.
P.P.P.S.: And yes, I'm way too lazy to count Sword rogues' DPS... All these Extra hits and Windfury shit. :S

Nothing really to do:

Mutilate +15% Crit:
1612.4625(0.45*2.3+0.55)=2555.753
2555.753-2241.323=314.43
*5/30:
+52.405 DPS.
452.5+52.4~505 DPS.

Awesome buff, heh. Rogues gotta check this in PvE.

Oh, and btw: you can drop 3 points from Ruthlessness for the new talent keeping the same 2% chanse to lose 25 energy on a finishing move.
