Ok, my guild and I are FAR from thinking about BT raid as we just started to organize Gruul and are somewhat through Karazhan with our first Group, but I HAD to browse this page also in order to post my frustration about a couple of things (as this is probably the most browsed page on thottbot):
Why the Hell are all Bosses -especially Illidan-, that are actually of the same race or related to playable races so freakishly huge? This is one fact that to me, ruins the whole game.
(Looking forward to seeing Arthas tall as a 100-storied skyscraper... NOT!)
Of course they need to be WAY stronger and different looking than regular players, but why not just create special models and textures? You have accomplished this with Vash and Illidan, but WHY THE HELL AS BIG AS DINOSAURS????? (Illidan should be the size of a tall night elf, maybe a foot taller than others and maybe two or three when in demon form) I also hate some of the Bosses in Karazhan... Curator simply a 20x size Arcane Guardian? I sometimes catch myself organizing strategies of interrupting charged fist in my head when I see him. Maiden being an EXACT copy from Uldaman? Moroes simply using an Undead player model (ok... at least he is not 50 feet tall... BRAVO!) The Prince just an -again freakishly huge- regular Eredar of which MANY world encounters look EXACTLY the same? Come on... you can do better than this! At least for bosses that play a somewhat important role of moving on in the game i.e. dropping Tier X...
I HATE the fact that Bosses in general simply use re-colored models of mobs and are just made 431980265 foot tall! This is simple lazyness of the model designers. Blizzard, you guys are surely not lacking of money to employ one or two more designers and assign them with creating unique models for bosses. I am sure we reached the point where not a single player will complain about having to waste a little more space on his hard drive for the extra textures or model codes.
Also -ok.. this does not concern Illidan- you could include more speech and not just written text into boss fights. haven't we moved beyond textadventures after the introduction of sound cards??? This would help the game a lot! Also, this is just a few hours paid to the voice talent and a bit of HD space for the customer/player. Here is a Hint what to do if you are too avaricious to pay a voice talent: Start a contest among fans for "Who wants to voice Boss/Character soandso?", combine it with some event and make money through selling tickets for the it etc.... You will find enough fans who will come and fill your Bank Account and surely are happy with a few months free play reward or just the fact that their voice is used.
Is anyone else so dissatisfied with these things? I do want some special/atmospheric game expierience in such a kind of game, otherwise I might as well go back to killing Nazis playing Wolfenstein 3D in the early 90s.
