Which is better? Suggestions??

I'm thinking Armoursmith as more oppertunity for profit!

Any suggestions from the smiths out there?

You can't "profit" from either specialization, as anything they make is bind on pickup.  That being said, go weaponsmith.

weapon/armor special things is all BoP...

i myself are armorsmith and i regret i didnt go for wep smith, wep smith is better both for tanks and dps

That is one question that is hard to answer I think weapons are more profitable but I still think armor is a more beneficial way to go

Actually you are very wrong. You say that weaponsmith is the choice you should go for if you are tanking or dpsing. This is very wrong. I picked up armorsmithing without even thinking about weaponsmithing and i have nothing to regret. I made this a couple of weeks ago http://thottbot.com/i28484 and i have to say its rly awesome.

Some say "but...but... you need a good tank weapon!" yes exactly. There are 2 choices for new high end tanking and that is King's Defender from the chess event in Karazhan and Suneater from Heroic Mechanar. Neither is hard to get if you arnt lazy.

Anyway, this armor can be used for both tanking and dps. Me my self switch from protection and fury pretty often and i find my self using this in both cases, or did until i got a better one from Nightbane.
The reason why this is a great tank chest is because of the amount of armor, hit rating and stamina. Crit is also nice for the threat gen. And dont forget about the sockets and the extra "Last Stand" effect.

can i unlearn axesmith???

when i try the square comes up and i bress accept and nothing happends -_- i got over 100g witch is the fee to unlearn is this just a bugg or is it disabeld or what?

As I am new to a few aspects of the game please bear with me.  As an Armorsmith, everything we make is BOP, does that mean that I cannot make armor for my warrior partner who is a weaponsmith?

Very few early BSing items are BoP, the ones that are come mainly from trainers who teach you how to make superior and epic quality items. World drop plans for superior and epic items are almost always BoE, hence why there so expensive.

I think armorsmith is better because you get to choose from feet to helmits while weaponsmith only allows you to make weapons.If you need a better helmit you have armorsmith,if you want better waist you have armorsmith you get all your armor needs from armorsmith while you can only get a new weapon from weaponsmith.

Have you even played WoW....I chose Armorsmith ages ago and it seems that Wep smiths have it way better. We DONT get to make any of those High up weps and yet....Wep Smiths CAN!! PLUS they can also make a SHIT TON of epics that are armor...The only reason you would even consider being an armor smith is if you hope to wear the Ancient Bulwark of Kings....IF YOU CAN GET THE MATS!! Then you have those wep smiths that can just make themselves gold by the shit ton because there are so many wep smith plans out there and meanwhile....warriors get screwed with armorsmith because half the stuff you can make is for Pally's (DONT GET ME STARTED) and a quarter is for Mail Wearers and then you have from my last count 3.....yes I said 3...Things that are useful at 70 and two before hand.

Level 47 = Earthforged Leggings

Level 65 = Heavy Earthforged Breastplate

Level 70 = Breastplate of Kings

Level 70 = Bulwark of Kings

Level 70 = Bulwark of Ancient Kings

Now those last 3 are almost impossible to make unless you raid and do heroic instances....but COME ON!! 5 bloody usefull things for Armorsmithing???? WHAT THE HELL BLIZZARD....

Meanwhile the WepSmiths can make almost ANY wep they want PLUS a shit ton of epic gear....If I could go back and change this I bloody well would...

Indeed you can change if you like dude . Just unlearn your armorsmith and switch to Wepsmith . That's wut i did last weekend. I ve got mats for Bulwark of King but that " temporary increase of 1500 health and 150 strength " can't be used in Arena pissess me off ! I switch to Wepsmith and crafted my self DEEP THUNDER the same day with all the mats & Primal Nethers stocked in my bank. And tell you what : I LOVE IT !

so how do i unlearn the Armorsmith and stick to Weaponsmith?

I saw a post on another thread where the author had cut and pasted the Bliz reply to his q about switching from armorsmith to weaponsmith.  Bliz told him he could not switch.  Did this change?  crap time to open a ticket lol

Ok, as a Weaponsmith, here is what I know

I am a 375 BS and have been for months.

I chose weaponsmith as a warrior to create a weapon.  You can only choose Axe, Mace or Sword as your main weaponsmithing item.  As an Axesmith, I cannot learn to make the epic maces from the trainers.

Weaponsmiths do not make Tanking weapons.  These are dps weapons, slow main hand or 2 hander.  I decided rather to get my Thrallmar rep up and purchase the axe via my rep instead. (have yet to get the drop in Kara or mech :(  )

I can, however, purchase an epic plan from the AH, guildy or get a world drop and make that item, use it, sell it etc...

Has I chosen Armorsmithing, I would have made 1 item from the trainers.  The chest plate armor as earlier mentioned .

Being an Armorsmith does not mean I can make armor from head to toe.  The trainer only teaches you 1 item.

So that being said... The chest piece is fantastic no question.  However, 1 piece of armor (though nice) is not comparable to being able to switch from Axesmith to Macesmith etc... and choose the weapons I want to play with.  Its hard enough to get a better dps weapon than

Which given the amount of Heroic Marks we can get now, is rather easy to make by purchasing the Primal nether to make this.

As for armor, with S1 being available now via BG, and some are nearly as good for PVE as they are for PVP (yes yes, there are stat diff), right now, IMHO, Smithing is almost obsolete.

I picked up a pally wrist item http://thottbot.com/i23539 I believe.  The S1 wrists are better.  so who needs smithers anymore?

For the love of god don't go armorsmithing, it's such a waste, weaponsmithing is sooo much better. or if your smart, just get gathering professions and make some money.

I have a warrior, its smartest to get your armor through pvp, weaponsmith make more money by far. when was the last time you bought armor off AH at lvl 45-60? all classes need your weapons and people buy weapons all the time. also back to pvp bs weapons can be better and faster to obtain than through pvp.so go for weaponsmith!!!!!!!!!

I am a pally and wonder wat path to choose. It seems that people say that weaponsmith is better but people have been saying armorsmith is bad because of having lots of pally only armor.  would weaponsmith be better for me because i am a pally?

Also I am new to bs and am confused. Some1 said that as an armorsmith u can only make one piece of armor. is this true and if so wat is going on there?! ppl also said that as a weaponsmith you have to choose between axe, mace, or sword. does this mean i can only learn how to make the weapons in the branch i choose from my trainer, but i can still learn how to make weapons from the other branches for recipes?  thanks for ur help

you learn the axesmith.hammersmith and swordship in everlook they are a quest.make sure u choose the one u can use because it's binds on pick up.And it cost 50 gold to unlearn it and change to another one.
