How do I utilize add ons. Please help me out if you can. Thanks

well first you download the mod from any website you choose from such as www.curse.com which is the website i use to download my mods. Once downloaded you put the file in your wow file under c:/programs/worldofwarcraft once you open your wow folder you should see other folders inside it. You open your interface folder now and then open your addon folder. in there you put the mod file in there. then run wow and once your on your toon selection screen you should see on bottom left hand side addons. click on that and check all the addons so that when you enter your game they will be available to you. I have done: download, and the Addons is in my addon folder. But then I do not understand what to do? What is "run WoW" (open the program?) And what is"toon seletion". So sorry to admit its difficult for me and these stupid questions, but i would be so happy for some help here. I really need addons.  ty very if you answer me.

OK. I've had my GM explain this to me and I still can't get it to work. I can NOT find the interface folder, I've looked through every WoW folder on my computer and can not find it. If it makes any difference I'm on windows vista.

If you will copy and past any addons into this folder (C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns) you will be able to execute them from the character selection menu after logging into WOW.

1) Download addon. Most of them will come in a .zip file that you will have to open and extract the contents to a folder. I would suggest extracting these files to your desktop for easy access.

2) Goto the folder on your desktop that contains the addon files that you extracted from the .zip file and copy all of the contents in this folder. You will know you are copying addon files because when you open the folder that the files where extracted to (on your desktop) you will see a lot of sub folders some examples would be: AllInOneInventory, AlphaMap, AtlasLoot, etc.. You want to copy all of these sub folders!!! Those are the addons and should be copied and placed in your (C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns)folder. Exit out of this folder and proceed to step 3.

3) Start WOW and after typing in your User name and PW you will come to a character selection screen where you can either create a new character or select an existing one. This is the screen where you will enable your addons. Look in the bottom left hand corner of this screen. You should see an addons button. Just select that button and then put a check in the addons that you want to enable. Then select OK and then select your character that you will be playing. After you have logged into your character you should see all kinds of fun stuff to play with, if not just hit the ESC button and look through that menu.

ive done all of that and it still wont work. is it because my folder is "compressed"?

yes....you need to "unzip" or decompress the file/folder into the addon folder.
