Can anyone tell me where a good place to get high level (350+) JC designs from. I know that they are mostly drops but would like to know from where. I have a wife and kids and dont get to devote hours and hours a day to play. And I can't get myself to pays the 400-500g prices in the auction house. I am a 70 warrior with my JC nearly maxed 371, but can only cut a limited amount of gems because they are drops and not from the trainer. I am also working on rep with the consortium and aldor to be able to purchase from them but that is also limited. I've only had one blue design drop for me and that was before I took up JC. Any feedback would be appreciated.

You just named every way there is to get the patterns. If you cant spend the cash and dont have the luck of the drops, then it's slow rep grinds. It's goingto hurt either the wallet or the clock...the choice is yours.

Then my question is answered. But tell me this. Is 500g, on average, too high to be selling 350+ blue gem cutting designs for? If thats what it is, guess i'll just suck it up and blow my cash and start raping everyone else in the AH to make my cash back.

on malygos, ive paid anywhere from 250 to 700g for jc patterns, but if ur just goin for skill there are some more or less useless ones that dont sell for too much (those are the ones from 250 to 400g) and that's pretty much how i got my JC to 375.

But rather then wasting 300-400g on a recipe for a gem that isn't wanted, spend the 400-700g and get a recipe for a gem that is in high demand... that way you can make your cash back.

i got the +8 defense, +12 stam, +8 Hit rating. paid about 500g each, and made that back within a few weeks

Thanks for evereyones advice. Currently a 375 JC with 30+ rare designs and rising. Lots of gold in the bank and providing JC service for alot of people on my realm. Yes, the way i did it was to buy most from the ah. But never paid more than 350g for any gem design. Most of the people who post designs for 500+ dont sell and end up relisting cheaper. And i am always there to scooop them up at the lower price.

well consortium rep works also those recipes are cheaper and are meta sockets also have some other low lvl green sockets and other good socket to get is in halaah take it over its 1 highlvl dawnstone recipe and if ya got 80 oshu gun powder you get a talasite recipe also

with rep you can buy some good 350+ gemcutting recipes for rare gems.
