i know i know alot of people are on the alliance and the horde but which one has more and is better?Give me a reason and why!(I think I am leaning to the Horde now because i am experieced...oh and going to make a orc warlock :)

well i have a alliance (lvl 34 hunter) but got bored because every on allaince appeared inexperienced. i looked up google for horde or aliiance and it turns out horde is the winner. i am pretty sure i will be going 2 the horde(but still keeping my alliance also!)if there is any reason at all not 2 to the horde plz tell me :)

If you have to google to find out which 1 is better, then please go to horde. JKing :)

horde people almost always win at pvp and BGs and they are usually nicer. But then again I kinda like alliance because they have so many people and it helps the community feel of the game

Horde always wins BG in 20-29 so if ur lookin 2 make a twink...go horde

If you want to play whit younger people, choose alliance. Horde for older.

Alliance is usually more casual players, you know, mostly 14-17 year olds, just playing this in their spare time. Horde is more of the 21+, read all of the books, knows how to make a private server, plays for over 24 hours on end eating doritos and drinking mountain dew from a 2 liter bottle than peeing into said bottle so they don't need to get up, openly devoting their exsistence to the game kind of person. Of course, either way it's just a stereotype. The real question is what race you like most. You want to play an undead? Don't let the enormous NEEEEEEERD population keep you away. There are plenty of casual players there too. Just not as many.

Horde doesn't always win BG's. Perhaps they always win the ones your in, but that does not mean that they win every BG. I play alot of BG's, and it seems to me that we win about 80% of them. I also keep hearing over and over again that ally's are young kids and horde are adults, maybe it seems that way to people due to the time they play. I play between 12:00am and 5am PST and the Ally's seem to act mature for the most part, but that may just because of the time i play. Also how does anyone know who is more mature when you are playing 1 faction at a time, there is no way of knowing if the horde have a bunch of immature players playing while you are playing ally, unless you have 2 comps, and are playing both factions. I think it is safe to say that both factions have equal numbers as far as mature players go, so you should pick the faction you want to play, according to your own likes and not because someone else has a harder time with 1 or the other.

In every server ive played on its Quality (horde) vs Quantity (alliance)
alot of the noobier players go to alliance, but the  market on alliance is simply WAY better than horde, but alliance players generally have no idea how to play their class and i would never want to play with a typical NE hunter.

Ok, I have both alliance and horde characters, and I prefer horde, they as a whole are so much stronger for pvp and stuff, and no offense to any alliance but it seems like noobs go toward alliance, and I like the quests better on horde, just my 2 cents

I actually have a certian fondness for the horde, with their multitude of shaman classes, and owning, and having zombies and giant cow thingies on one side... Does the alliance have giant cows? No. It's just the overlyserious people I hate. If you're on alliance and pee in a cup, I hate you as much if not more than a horde cup pee-er.

As much as I love the Alliance they are not that good workers in the Battle Ground.  Horde are always more prepared.  Seems like all the "kids" go with Alliance and the real WoW Crafters go with Horde.

OK, I'm not sure if the original poster meant what this string of posts has been directed at. So far what everyone has been talking about are the sterotype characteristics of the Horde and the Alliance players on the average server.

FOR EXAMPLE:
Horde: Lesser in number, (perhaps) more mature, older etc.
Alliance: Greater in number, more casual players, younger etc.

But I donno, this might be because of the attributes of two factions which Blizzard designed the game with. For example, no one can dispute that the Horde has been portayed as the more "bad guys" team. If you read the history of Azeroth, the Horde has had many more affliations with the "confirmed" evil guys like the Burning Legion, the Scourge (the Horde Forsaken was actually regenade part of it at a time), and the races which the Horde is made up of are less "human". If you read Lord of the Rings, Orcs and Trolls are the baddies which the Humans, Dwarves, and Elves fight against. The term Undead is like a direct opposition to a Human, who is usually the hero (Star Wars, LOTR, basically any fantasy fiction book will have a human hero). Tauren and Blood Elves are perhaps exempt, because no one would have heard of them before Blizzard created them. On the other hand, (LOTR again) Humans, Dwarves, and (Night) Elves are usually good guys in a fantasy world (humans especially), and WoW is no exception in the eyes of many.

This may well be the reason that there are many more younger people in the Alliance, as well as it having a greater population. Kids have more pure views of "good" and "evil' in the sense that Alliance = good and Horde = evil. Obviously its not so simple, having both ways of each faction (Dark Iron Dwarves, Illidian Stormrage (once an elf!), Cenarion Circle etc.), but this is maybe why they prefer to be Allies.

As for the Horde, I'm not sure what the motivation is to be on the side with less pure affliations, but since the youger people go Alliance, someone must go Horde. Maybe its because older people can look past the Alliance = good and Horde = bad thing.

I'd like to tell everyone something. The servers that you play on dictate how good your fation does. I play on a server where the pop. isnt dat bad. But horde, owns in bg. the horde is cool in my server, helps me out in quests i gotta do and takes me dungeon. In our server ally like to just sit at low levels to kill us off just becuz dey cant win in bg. Now in the other hand i've heard of servers where the ally kicks ass. I heard the ally just licks the horde in some severs. I mean, if you got pally's, u got hope. I like servers where the horde and ally are up and up. Just constantly having all out, balls out, brawls. Thats what makes it fun. Im guessing the ally talk about the horde the same way, its just i dont believe that the best horde server, and the best ally server will ever meet. Unless blizz should have an open server showdown. in that case DEATH TO ALLIANCE!!!

I think for me when it came to choosing my side I picked the horde purely because of style, its just the way I work.

You see many people go with the fads in life, like men wearing pink striped shirts while having red mohawk hair styles, and then there are those who know that some things are always cool like a black T-shirt, you can't say no to a black T-shirt.

So what I'm trying to say is that Horde designs are just better on the whole. The alliance has all these short foolish looking types, as well as boring generic humans, and the latest weirdo fest new comers  those Drani people is it? Oh well never mind.

In short good taste comes with intelligence, it doesn't surprise me that the masses go with what they expect to be good, in the end we know who's right (Well those of us with great intelligence).

Well I am alliance but we only win at lvl 70 in AV a horde wins all the time but i never give up high lvl alliance cream! but low lvls suck lol i help low lvl paldains and hutners also mages i am on a realm called miva something PST if u need help =P

On my server(Sen'jin) almost everyone is overall pretty nice and the factions well at least horde is not too hostile towards alliance but I do not know about alliance towards horde.Some of the times there will be the occasional ass holes who go out of their way to get you killed. For example if a horde goes over to help an alliance who is getting his ass kicked by mobs and the alliance feels like being a total ass hole will most likely run and peel the aggro off him onto you so as you are trying to handle like 3 mobs the alliance runs away (grrrrrr), but the same thing could happen to an alliance trying to help a horde.  This is not the case all the time and some people will actually help you. I though prefer horde mainly because I think they are more lively.

Well from what i know, Minotaurs...aka Tauren, are protrayed as evil beings, specially in the lore about the labyrenth..(sp) of king Midas, or something like that, but from my experinces Horde is much more mature, there are a few here and there, but ive seen many BG's won by both Horde and Ally, so im not saying one is better then the other, though i am saying that many Ally players are a little less mature then the Horde side. there is one exception, in my first venture to outland, i was approached by a lvl 70 NE rogue, me being a lvl 58 Tauren Warr, i was shakin in my boots, cuz i knew for a fact i couldnt take him, he had T3 gear and swooped down on a flying mount, but he started pointing at a mob, ran over let me tag all of them, and then flew off, i was suprised at the maturity of this one guy, didnt catch his name, but im very happy that he didnt do the typical high lvl thing and just smash my face in. regardless ill play horde anyday and leave ally to anyone that wants to deal with more childish people.

Also one thing i have to point out...if you look at the lore of the game, 90% of the horde is combat based, you have the Orc who were orgionally demonic, Trolls who've been fighting over territorty since they began, Tauren who've fought tooth and nail for the barrens, Undead well they probly died in battle so yeah...Blood elves are the exception but since they were orgrionally high elves.

Humans are so so based, Dwarves are greedy hermits, NE are just arosticatic, Gnomes rather build things then fight, and Draenei who i dont know much about but seem like they were arosticatic like NE but im not certian.

well on my relam vek'nilash the horde always win the battle grounds and all in all have a better community.  the ally doesn't near as soid a comunity as the horde.  if i where you id pick horde.  but if you have friends that picked ally like me.  then go for ally to play with your friends.  but if not id go for the horde.

It depends if ur hard core the Horde. If ur a walky talky allince also ur age matters to. Horde wins alot of the BG I've been in but allince r good pve so I can help u with 100%

It all depends on what you like. From the first few replies or so that I read, it looks like everyone is being biased. They forget to mention that it all depends on the server you choose too. Some servers have "more mature" people playing horde, others have "more mature" people playing alliance.

As I've played both, I've noticed that it's all the same, no matter which faction you choose. You always run across that one person that is immature and thinks they're "all that", and then there's the people you run into that are awesome to play with.

In the end, it all depends on your preference. What you like (or what looks you like), etc.

Personally, i hate Alliance.....little fricking gnomes. Plus why the heck would you make a gnome or dwarf? Also Alliance looks to Human like...Horde on the other hand has more beast-like appearances and more Shammys.=P

If you dont like Horde then try Alliance but i'm warning you..it really sucks.  A few more reasons is because Alliance is for younger people cuz they're scared of the Horde and they just like they Munchkins in the Wizard of Oz.

As far as I know you can not tell the actual age of the people playing.  Plus logic would dictate that if anything, the Horde would be full of the younger players.  If we are stereotyping, kids are better at video games, have better hand eye coordination and thus would be better at WoW which would mean if Horde players are better at PvP it is because they are kids who have the ability and the time to play more than older people with jobs and responsibilities.
As far as the original post is concerned:  Pick whatever class and race most appeals to you.  That is what will determine how much fun you have playing.

I agree with you, where are any stats that show the players on the horde side are older? I have two boys(9,12) and the immediately went for the horde because they look "cool". The youngest is quite good and always beats me in fighting games on the PS2 because of his quicker reflexes. So yes it stands to reason that some of those great PvP players are probably kids.

I hate people that think Alliance is better than the Horde or vice-versa... Im particularly Horde because I love the races and partly because I had a bad start with alliance, just go with which races you think look better
